Abstract

FIELD: selective detector for indication and recording of high-density pulse electron beams with background $$$ nuclear radiation of radioactive materials. SUBSTANCE: semiconductor crystals of mercury iodide $$$ (in red tetragonal form) are used as inorganic scintillator which has high scintillation efficiency $$$ for detection of high-density electron beams and is practically insensitive to nuclear $$$ radiation of radioactive materials. EFFECT: $$$ characteristics as scintillator are $$$ = 10.1 (with respect to $$$), $$$ = 2.1 microseconds, $$$ = 575=580 nm, $$$ = 67.3.

Claims (1)

Параметры HgI2 как сцинтиллятора: Cотн = 10,1 (по сравнению с Csl - Те), τ = 2,1 мкс, λизл= 575-580 нм, Zэф = 67,3.An inorganic scintillator has been proposed for use as a selective detector for visualization and effective registration of high-density pulsed electron beams against the background of α-, β-, γ-nuclear radionuclide emissions, in particular, for visualization and registration of electron beams generated by high-current electron accelerators nano- and picosecond range. The essence of the invention: the use of known semiconductor crystals of mercury iodide HgI 2 (red tetragonal modification) as an inorganic scintillator having high scintillation efficiency C rel when registering high-density electron beams and practically not sensitive as a scintillator to nuclear α-, β-, γ-radiation radionucidides. Parameters like scintillator HgI 2: C rel = 10.1 (compared with Csl - Te), τ = 2,1 ms, λ = 575-580 nm rad, Z ef = 67.3.
