Изобретение относится к медицинской технике и предназначено для хирургии и травматологии. Целью изобретения является упрощение конструкции, повышение быстродействия смены инструмента, повышение надежности фиксации инструмента. Это достигается тем, что у хирургической дрели, содержащей корпус 1, рукоятку 31, привод 2, шпиндель 6 с зажимным механизмом в виде съемной втулки 11, последняя установлена с возможностью взаимодействия своими торцами 23 и 24 с пластинчатой пружиной 17, имеющей выступы 21 и 22 и несущей западающую в поперечный паз 14 шпинделя 6 шпонку 19 под поперечный паз 20, выполненный в хвостовике инструмента 10.
