The invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to the construction of permanent magnet electric motors. The goal is to increase the reliability of the electric motor by providing reliable protection of the internal cavity from the ingress of water, vapors and foreign solid particles, which will allow the electric motor to be operated in contaminated and explosive atmospheres both in the operating mode and in the off state. This is achieved by the fact that in an electric motor containing a stator with a package of windings, a rotor with permanent magnets covering the stator and a shaft installed in the bearing bushings, the end of which extends beyond the housing, a stop collar is made on the shaft end in contact with the end surface of the bearing sleeve while the end surfaces of the magnetic poles of the rotor are displaced in the axial direction relative to the ends of the stator package in the direction of the thrust collar. An embodiment of the invention is that in an electric motor comprising a stator in a common housing with a package of windings, a rotor with permanent magnets covering the stator and a shaft installed in the stator bearing bushings, the end of which extends beyond the housing, a stop collar is made at the shaft end in contact with the end surface bearing sleeve, while the housing or part thereof is made of non-magnetic material and an additional permanent magnet is mounted on it opposite the shaft.
