Abstract

FIELD: electrolytic production of aluminium, particular, operations for replacement of spent self-baking anodes in electrolyzers. SUBSTANCE: method for replacement of anodes in electrolyzers with self-baking anode for aluminium production provides for successive replacement of anodes located on the opposite sides from longitudinal axis of electrolyzer. In so doing, the day number of replaced anodes is divisible by 2, each successive anode from the anode pair is withdrawn from the zone of anode mass which (pair) is located on the opposite side from the transverse axis of electrolyzer. Time interval between their replacement is minimal. This allows the technological process to be conducted at smaller values of interpole distance and lower power consumption without increase of labor input for replacement of anodes and other operations. EFFECT: reduced harmful effect of the operation of anode replacement on the induction of longitudinal and transverse horizontal currents in metal.

Claims (1)

The invention relates to the electrolytic production of aluminum, namely to the operation of replacing spent calcined anodes in electrolysis cells. The aim of the invention is to reduce the harmful effects of the operation of replacing the anodes on the occurrence of longitudinal and transverse horizontal currents in the metal. The method involves the successive replacement of anodes located on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the cell, with a daily number of replaced anodes being a multiple of 2, each subsequent one of a pair of anodes is removed from the zone of the anode array located on the opposite side from the transverse axis of the cell, and the time interval between replacing them minimum. This allows you to conduct the process at lower values of the interpolar distance and, accordingly, the energy consumption without increasing labor costs for replacing the anodes and other operations.
