SUBSTANCE: purification of liquid systems is accomplished by their passing through a column containing dispersed material, the size of particles being within 0.1 to 3.0 mm, possessing a heterogeneous surface and polarized by an electric field having an intensity of at least 1 V/cm. Ferroelectric ceramic, sand, chitosan, etc. are used as the above dispersed material. The method is realized in the device on the basis of the electrosorption column filled by sorbent by no more than 95% of the volume, furnished with feed, discharge and drainage pipelines; the carrying capacity of the drainage pipeline is at least three times higher than that of the feed pipeline, and the discharge pipeline is positioned in the upper part of the housing forming a gap between it and sorbent.
