Abstract
FIELD: communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has standard thyristor whose gate electrode voltage (Ug) or cathode voltage (Uc) in closed state or in case of surges under transit connection is compared by means of comparator with reference voltage (Uv). Upon the occurrence of voltage surges, comparator output voltage acts so that subscriber lines (SLICI ... SLICn) are turned on in absence of current through control input (IST) so that holding current of thyristor (Th) is not attained and current starts flowing again only in absence of surge voltage in closed state. EFFECT: reduced cost of protective device affording general protection of many subscriber lines.
