Abstract
FIELD: production of artificial diamonds. SUBSTANCE: carbon- containing material of a specified shape is surrounded with a powdered catalyst containing, %: 60-70 tungsten carbide, 10-12 titanium carbide, 2.4-2.6 cobalt, 2.4-2.6 titanium boride and 15-21 zirconium, and high pressure and temperature are then applied, the velocity of the temperature rise being 1400-1600 deg/s. The material is kept at high temperature for 1-2 s, and its subsequent treatment with a mixture of nitric acid and HF is carried out at room temperature. EFFECT: new method elaborated.
