Use: microbiology, immunology. The inventive strain isolated from the sputum of a patient with lung damage, grows well on a dense egg medium and has antigenic properties similar to the antigenic properties of Mycobacterium leprae. The possibility of using the strain for the serological diagnosis of leprosy was confirmed by the study of the comparative activity of the M. avium strain of the antigen of GISCO N 43 and M. leprae in RPGs and WIEF with the sera of patients, individuals with incomplete regression and clinically stable regression.
