The area of use is the processing of metals by pressure, in particular the production of pipes for further processing. The technical result is a reduction in energy consumption during heating and deformation of the workpiece. The essence of the invention is to use a continuous cast ingot for flashing, which has a core with lower deformation resistance with respect to the peripheral layers and flashing it with a total degree of deformation of 25-50%, while a continuous cast ingot is taken using the heat of the metal straightened before casting, and the flashing is carried out when the temperature gradient in the center and outer surface of the ingot, comprising not more than 500 o C.
