Устройство относится к строительству канализационных сооружений. Работает устройство следующим образом. Сточные воды по трубе свободно проходят через решетку между ее планками. Механические включения задерживаются решеткой. В случае забоя ими канализационной трубы в месте расположения решетки сточная вода проходит в полость корпуса и через него, обходя забой, попадает снова в трубу. При перемещении граблины с помощью валика и штифта нарушается плотность забоя, и сточная вода проходит через решетку, а механические включения перемещаются в корпус по направлению к вилке. При этом, уплотняясь, механические включения нанизываются на острозаточные стержни. Затем следует очистка корпуса: отвинчивается гайка, болт на оси отбрасывается от крышки, крышка снимается, потом извлекается вилка вместе с механическими включениями сточных вод. Подтекание сточной воды через стык устранено уплотнением. Possible prevention against flooding, which consists in the periodic movement of the tine to clean the grill from mechanical impurities.
