Usage: in high-temperature electrochemical devices - fuel cells, oxygen pumps, electrolyzers and gas analyzers of oxygen-containing gases and other devices based on stabilized zirconium dioxide. The essence of the invention: in a solid electrolyte consisting of zirconium dioxide, a stabilizing metal oxide selected from the group: calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, oxides of rare-earth elements, or their mixture, and additives of cobalt oxide CoO, Co 3 O 4 , Co 2 O 3 , or their mixtures, these components are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: zirconium dioxide 75 - 97; cobalt oxide 0.01-1.55 (in terms of cobalt); oxide stabilizer - the rest is up to 100%. A method of manufacturing a solid electrolyte includes mixing the original ingredients, produced by the method of chemical coprecipitation of hydroxides from aqueous or alcoholic solutions of salts, in particular alcoholates, the corresponding metals, their calcination at temperatures of 450-900 ° C, followed by grinding powder. Formed blanks of products are sintered at a temperature of 1200-1400 ° C. The addition of cobalt can be made by grinding or pre-sintering of pre-mixed and calcined zirconium dioxide and stabilizing metal oxide.
