Изобретение относится к медицине, в частности к способам специфической профилактики инфекционных заболеваний, и может быть использовано для предотвращения заболевания мелиоидозом у чувствительных к P.pseudomallei млекопитающих. Сущность предложенного способа заключается в следующем. Белок, выполняющий порообразующую функцию в клеточной стенке P.pseudomallei, очищенный от цитоплазматических белков и пептидогликана, вводят подкожно чувствительным к мелиоидозу животным из расчета 880-7000 мкг на кг массы животного. Иммунизацию повторяют по схеме, экспериментально подобранной для каждого вида животных. Определение протективного эффекта проводят подкожным заражением животных вирулентной культурой мелиоидозного микроба.
