Отличительной особенностью полуавтоматического пистолета - револьвера является наличие в нем одновременно обоймы и барабана, благодаря чему исключается перекос патрона при подаче из обоймы затвором. В существующих конструкциях пистолетов при подаче патрона затвором над обоймой образуется свободное пространство, в которое патрон может выйти из обоймы под углом, т.е. происходит перекос с последующим утыканием в пенек ствола и задержкой выстрела. У пистолета - револьвера верхние края обоймы прижаты к верхним внутренним стенкам рукояти и места для перекоса нет. Коническое отверстие в рукояти и коническое расширение гнезд барабана служат направляющими для патрона и исключают утыкание патрона краем гильзы в края отверстия в рукояти и гнезд барабана. Взаимодействие фиксатора патронов в барабане и рычага спускового механизма исключает возможность подачи патрона в барабан, если патрон в барабане уже есть. Плоская форма барабана делает пистолет - револьвер удобным в носке.
