The holder-guides contains a base 1 with six holes 4 for fastening with screws, self-tapping screws or screws in the socket (to the metal), for which all the holes are chamfered. The base 1 from the bottom has a flat surface, from the back side the base 1 has a shoulder 2. On the base 1 along the entire length are ribs 3. The holder-guides are made of impact-resistant polystyrene by casting, and chill casting is possible and additional mechanical processing of all surfaces is not required. You can make it from a whole piece of polystyrene by CNC milling, but it is somewhat more expensive.

These parts can be used independently for storing a small amount of media (15 and 20, respectively), but the main purpose is to set joint-to-joint and mount on a solid surface. Holder-guides of any type can be attached to both horizontal and vertical walls at the request of the consumer. In the first case, to obtain the required size between them, both the wall and the bushings can be used, in the second case they are mounted on 2 or more smooth hard surfaces, which in turn are fastened with additional parts. At the same time, the possibilities for storage volume are practically unlimited.

The method of fixing the base to the surface can be very different, for example, with screws, self-tapping screws, double-sided tape and glue. An array of wood, chipboard, plywood is most often chosen as the surface. It is possible to install these parts on polymers and metal at the request of the consumer.

Obviously, absolutely all dimensions of the guide rails are variable and can be selected for any information media, including future ones, but the general design principle is the same.

In this application, two of the most typical digital storage media are selected and the dimensions of the guide holders are shown for them.
