Abstract
The cleaning head for a mechanical toothbrush refers to brushes with a mechanical drive and can be used to make working nozzles for toothbrushes with an electromechanical drive. The objective of the invention is to ensure the adaptability of the cleaning head of the toothbrush due to the free rotation of the "U" shaped plates with bristles in a plane parallel to the supporting rod of the working nozzle, as well as increasing the productivity of the toothbrushing procedure. The problem is solved in that, like the known cleaning head for a toothbrush, it consists of a drive shaft and a “curved” plate fixed to its end “U”, on the inner surface of which a bristle is fixed. The difference lies in the fact that a second “U” shaped curved plate is introduced into the structure similar to the first one and located mirrored with respect to it, while the base of the plates is connected by an axis passing with a minimum clearance through the hole in the drive rod perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. Increasing the productivity of the toothbrushing procedure is ensured by simultaneous brushing of the teeth of the upper and lower jaw. To ensure the interchangeability of the “U” shaped plates at the end of the supporting rod, a flattening was made in which a through figured groove is cut into which an axis is inserted connecting both “U” shaped plates with the bristles. To ensure the replacement of the “U” bristles, the shaped plates are made without bristles, and the bristles are located on removable overlays mounted on the inner surface of both “U” shaped plates.
To fix interchangeable pads with bristles on their outer surfaces, protrusions are made, which are inserted into specially made holes in the lateral branches of the “U” shaped plates.
Description
The present invention relates to mechanically driven toothbrushes and can be used as a cleaning head for electromechanically driven toothbrushes.
Known cleaning head for an electromechanical toothbrush described in US patent No. 6381734, MKI A 46 B 13/02, priority 07. 05. 2002, also a cleaning head for a mechanical toothbrush described in US patent No. 6401288, MKI A 46 In 13/02, priority from 11. 06. 2002. Both the one and the other cleaning head contain a shaft, one end of which is bifurcated. At the end of each part of the bifurcated shaft, one cleaning brush is rigidly fixed. Both of these brushes are located at the ends of the forked part of the rod so that their bristles are directed towards each other and at an angle of 70-80 ° to each other.
These cleaning heads do not allow the cleaning brushes to rotate in the plane passing through the shaft on which they are attached, i.e. they do not have adaptive properties. As a result of this, the cleaning brushes cannot be automatically installed in the direction of the dentition when moving them along the dentition. This, firstly, causes inconvenience when using the toothbrush while moving it along the dentition, and secondly, reduces the quality of brushing, since it is difficult for a person to feel the brush in the mouth so that the location of the cleaning plane bristles maximally coincided with the direction of the dentition.
The closest known is the cleaning head SG-8001 for electromechanical "CD" or GD type toothbrushes manufactured
фирмой Ninghai Maidigg Model and Plastics Co. Ltd.(Kirran, http://www.maidigg.com). The specified cleaning head is made according to US patent No. 5171066., Publ. 12/15/1992. This cleaning head contains a drive rod, the end of which is bifurcated. A “U” shaped plate is rigidly attached to the bifurcated end of the drive rod, on the inner surface of which a bristle is fixed. Moreover, the dimensions of the cleaning head as a whole are such that it freely enters the human oral cavity and is worn on one dentition, completely covering the surface of 2-3 teeth.
The “U” shaped plates with bristles in this brush also lack adaptability and cannot rotate in the plane passing through the drive rod on which it is fixed. As a result of this, the cleaning head when moving it along the dentition cannot be automatically installed in the direction of the dentition. This, firstly, causes inconvenience when using the toothbrush during its movement along the dentition and requires special skills from the consumer, and secondly, it reduces the quality of toothbrushing, because it’s almost impossible for a person to feel a toothbrush in the oral cavity in such a way that the location of the cleaning plane of the bristles matches the direction of the surface of the teeth as much as possible and, thirdly, causes increased trauma to the gums during brushing due to a skew of the longitudinal axis of the cleaning head relative to the axis of the dentition and the occurrence of areas unnecessarily high pressure of the bristles on the gums.
The objective of the invention is to ensure the adaptability of the cleaning head of the toothbrush due to the free rotation of the "U" shaped plates with bristles in a plane parallel to the supporting rod of the working nozzle, as well as increasing the productivity of the toothbrushing procedure.

In figure 1. shows the cleaning head of the toothbrush in an exploded view. Figure 2. Shows the assembled toothbrush cleaning head. The cleaning head for the toothbrush, shown in the exploded view in figure 1, consists of a drive rod (1) with a flattening (2) at the end and two "U-shaped plates" (3) connected by an axis (4), which is inserted into a figured groove (5) in the flattening (2) of the bearing rod (1). Replaceable pads with bristles (6) are fixed on the inner surfaces of the “U” shaped plates (3), for securing which protrusions (7) are made on their outer surface, inserted into holes (8) in the lateral branches of the “U” shaped plates (3) . Figure 2. the arrows indicate the possible directions of movement of the cleaning head during brushing.
The cleaning head for a toothbrush operates as follows. The cleaning head is connected to the handle of the toothbrush and placed in the oral cavity so that the crowns of the opposing upper and lower teeth are between the bristles at the same time. Thus, the cleaning of the teeth of the upper and lower jaws is carried out simultaneously, which increases the productivity of the cleaning procedure. During the cleaning procedure, the cleaning head may perform any of those shown in FIG. movements: lateral, swinging, reciprocating, pecking or all movements simultaneously. These movements are transmitted to the bristles, which rub against the surface of the tooth crowns and erase plaque. To clean the interdental spaces the transverse and rocking movements are most effective. With the gradual advancement of the cleaning head along the dentition, both “U” shaped plates and, accordingly, replaceable overlays with bristles are oriented along the axis of the dentition, which is ensured by the free rotation of the axis (4) connecting both “U” shaped plates (3) in a figured groove (5 ) Thus, both “U” -shaped plates (3), rigidly connected to each other by the axis (4), as if themselves track the direction of the dentition, and a person does not need to do this consciously. This provides not only a high quality of cleaning, but also its simplicity and pleasantness, as well as the absence of damage to the gums. It is fundamentally important that the brush automatically provides the most correct brushing of the teeth, without requiring special skills from the user, the ability to brush teeth. The simultaneous brushing of the teeth of the upper and lower jaws provides increased productivity throughout the procedure.
Brush tests were conducted on 10 volunteers, of which 8 people increased gum vulnerability. All of them used a toothbrush of the proposed design for one month every morning and evening for 2-3 minutes.
Tests have shown that people like the simplicity and softness of the cleaning procedure itself, as well as the fact that the brush does not cause the slightest bleeding from the gums. All noted the high quality of cleansing the interdental spaces and a pleasant sensation of gum massage. There was also a significant reduction in halitosis.
