Abstract
Description
The invention relates to veterinary medicine, namely to a method for the prevention and treatment of eimeriosis in animals and birds.
- 474 с.).Eimerioses are a large group of diseases of agricultural and wild mammals, birds, and fish. They are caused by protozoa and mainly affect young animals. Eimeria parasitize intestinal epithelial cells. The exception is E. stiedae, which parasitizes the bile ducts of the liver in rabbits and E. truncata - in the mucous membrane of the renal pelvis of geese. The disease manifests itself as diarrhea, emaciation, anemia and other symptoms. Intoxication of the body with metabolic products of eimeria and putrefactive microflora leads to disruption of the nervous system, causing depression of animals up to a coma, muscle tremors and paralysis of the limbs. Eimerioses can cause mass death of animals. Without preventive measures, mortality can reach 100%. When animals become ill with eimeriosis, they lose weight and the meat of recovered animals has low nutritional value and quickly deteriorates during storage. Large expenses are incurred by farms for the purchase of drugs for treatment, prevention and disinfestation of premises (Abuladze K.I., Demidov N.V., Kolabsky N.A. et al. Parasitology and invasive diseases of farm animals. - M.: Kolos.- 1975. - 474 pp.).
Chemotherapy is currently the most effective and cost-effective measure to combat eimeriosis in domestic animals and birds. For the chemoprophylaxis and treatment of eimeriosis in animals and birds, a number of drugs have been proposed that have anti-eimeriosis activity: chemical coccide, trichopolum, salinomycin, baycox, nitrofuran (furakrillin, furazonal, furazolidone) and sulfonamide drugs (sulfadimezin, sulfadimethoxine, sulfaperedozin, norsulfazole, phthalazole), as well as chloramphenicol , monomycin and many others, (Akbaev M.Sh., Vodyanov A.A., Kosminkov N.E. et al. Parasitology and invasive diseases of animals. - M.: Kolos, - 2000. 559 p.), (Pleshakov S. .A., Larionov S.V., Rozovenko M.V. Efficacy of furakrilin and furazonal in eimeriosis of rabbits // Journal of Veterinary Medicine, No. 8, Saratov, 1997, pp. 28-30. A. Scientific principles of the use of complex preparations based on nitrofurans for eimeriosis in rabbits // Abstract of thesis of veterinary sciences. However, no chemotherapy drugs specifically acting on Eimeria have yet been found, and those that are widely used have one or more negative properties: high cost, toxicity, accumulation in edible animal tissues, immunosuppressive effects, and the danger of developing resistant strains of the pathogen.
- 4.2. - 1975. Despite the widespread use of these drugs as means of treatment and prevention of eimeriosis, it is not possible to obtain 100% indicators of extensive and intensive effectiveness. Therefore, these drugs are used repeatedly. For example, to treat eimeriosis in rabbits, furazolidone is used at a dose of 250 mg/kg for 10 days, and after a 5-day break - sulfadimethoxine - on the first day 2 g, in the next 9 days - 1 g per animal (Ponomarenko V.Ya. K the issue of chemoprophylaxis of coccidiosis in rabbits // Materials of the scientific conference of parasitologists of the UASSR - 4.2 - Kyiv - 1975. - St. Petersburg).
2000.08.20).There is a known method of treatment with furakrilin or furazonal in combination with vitamins and salts of hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid, which makes it possible to reduce single doses of drugs (active principle) to 30 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg body weight, respectively (RF Patent 2154470, publ. 2000.08.20).
There is a known method of treating cows with eimeriosis, which includes feeding coccidin with food and additionally introducing a single 10% solution of Erakonda - a herbal medicine that stimulates metabolic processes and increases the body's resistance at a dose of 4.5-5.5 mg/kg body weight (RF Patent 2234932, publ. 2004.08.27). For chemoprophylaxis of eimeriosis on poor farms, calves from 2-3 weeks of age are prescribed chemical coccid-7 at a dose of 0.285 g/kg. The drug is fed with concentrated feed in a group manner for 10 days in a row, then a break of 10 days is taken and this course is repeated for 3-4 months. In addition, coccidiovit is used at a dose of 0.03 g/kg with chloramphenicol (0.02 g/kg). The drugs are given every 15 days.
There is also a known method for the prevention of eimeriosis in animals (RF patent No. 2322235, class A61K 31/00, 2008 - prototype), including the administration of antibacterial and antiparasitic drugs.
The disadvantages of this known method are: toxicity, immunosuppressive effect, danger of the development of resistant strains of the pathogen, which leads to insufficient effectiveness of the prevention of eimeriosis in calves.
The technical result is to increase the effectiveness of prevention of eimeriosis in calves.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of preventing eimeriosis in calves, including the administration of antibacterial and antiparasitic drugs, according to the invention, the drug “Parofor 70” is used as an antibacterial drug, which is given to calves from the 5th day of life 10 g per 4 liters of milk once per day in the morning for 10 days, and the drugs “Ampro-lium” and “Norsulfazole” are used as antiparasitic drugs, while calves from the 30th birthday are given the drug “Amprolium” for 5 days 1.5 g/l of milk and 5 days after weaning from milk, namely up to 3 months of age, the dose is gradually increased to 2.5 g/l of milk over 5 days, then, starting from 3 months of age, the calves are transferred to group housing and given the drug “Norsulfazol” at a dose of 5 g/animal up to 6 months of age, followed by transfer to the general herd.
The novelty of the proposed proposal is due to the fact that for the prevention of eimeriosis, calves are given therapy to prevent the occurrence of infections in relation to all types of eimeria parasitizing in calves, using a scheme of complex use of the following drugs: Parofor 70, Amprolium, Norsulfazole.
The features that distinguish the claimed technical solution from the prototype are aimed at achieving a technical result and were not identified during the study of patent and scientific and technical literature in this and related fields of science and technology and, therefore, correspond to the criterion of “inventive step”.
Drugs used to prevent eimeriosis are characterized by the following properties:
Cryptosporidium spp.the drug "Parofor 70" - belongs to the group of drugs of aminoglycoside antibiotics. Paromomycin, which is part of the drug, is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic that is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., as well as some protozoa, including Cryptosporidium spp.
The mechanism of action of the antibiotic is to inhibit the protein synthesis of the microorganism through an irreversible connection with the ribosome.
After oral administration of the drug, paromomycin sulfate is poorly absorbed, providing high concentrations in the gastrointestinal tract and exerting an effect on the mucous and submucosal membranes.
Paromomycin sulfate does not undergo biotransformation and is quickly excreted from the body, mainly unchanged in feces and partially in urine.
Парофор® 70 по степени воздействия на организм относится к малоопасным веществам (4 класс опасности по ГОСТ 12.1.007-76).In terms of the degree of impact on the body, Parofor® 70 is classified as a low-hazard substance (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

The drug "Amprolium" is active against all types of Eimeria parasitizing calves, sheep and birds, including Eimeria tenella, Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria brunetti, Eimeria mitis, Eimeria praecox, Eimeria zurnii, Eimeria ninakohlykimovae, Eimeria bovis. Amprolium, which is part of the drug, competes with thiamine in the metabolic enzyme systems of eimeria, disrupting the metabolism of carbohydrates necessary for the life and reproduction of parasites in the later stages of development (schizonts, merozoites of the second generation). When administered orally, amprolium is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, exhibiting an anti-eimeriosis effect on the mucous membrane and submucosal layer. The main part of amprolium (up to 97%) is excreted unchanged from the body in feces.
The drug is used for the prevention and treatment of broiler chickens, replacement young stock, breeding poultry, calves and sheep with eimeriosis.
