Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the production of fibrous material from oil and fat production waste, in particular from sunflower husks, and can be used to produce a fibrous semi-finished product with high paper-forming properties, which can be used for the manufacture of paper or cardboard. In addition, the invention relates to compositions for the production of paper or cardboard, made from a composite mass containing a fibrous semi-finished product from sunflower husks.
Traditionally consumed raw materials for the production of cellulose are coniferous and deciduous wood. However, currently there is a depletion of slowly developing forest resources. With the constant expansion of pulp and paper production, it is necessary to minimize the damage caused to the environment. Accordingly, an important task of the pulp and paper industry is to use annually renewable plant raw materials and plant waste to produce cellulose.
Scientists have proven that renewable plant raw materials are complexly structured and contain many different components. Plant cells (for example, cereals) can be either non-lignified or lignified. Non-lignified cell walls contain structural carbohydrates - cellulose and hemicellulose, and are therefore easy to process. Lignified cells contain lignins - complex, chemically stable polymer formations that give the cell membrane high strength.
Sunflowers are one of the most grown oilseeds in Russia. Sunflower is grown on large areas in the Altai Territory, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Lipetsk, Orenburg, Oryol, Penza, Saratov, Samara, Tambov, Rostov, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk regions, Stavropol Territory and in others. The waste product from oil and fat production is husks. The chemical composition of sunflower husks depends on the sunflower variety, growing zone, and climatic conditions.
Table 1 presents the comparative component composition of sunflower husks and other non-wood and wood sources of raw materials for pulp and paper production.
As can be seen from Table 1, sunflower husk is similar in the content of the carbohydrate part (cellulose, pentosans) to cereal straw, in terms of the content of lignin substances it is similar to pine wood raw materials, and has a low content of ash substances. It follows that sunflower seed husks (husks) can be used as a natural renewable resource for the production of cellulose, paper and cardboard.
Currently, sunflower husks are used as fuel, an additive in animal feed, a sorbent (RU 2650979, IPC B01J 20/30, published 04/18/2018, Bulletin No. 11), for the extraction of melanin (RU 2643932, IPC A61K 36/ 28, B01D11/02, published 02/06/2018, bulletin No. 4), for the production of fiberboards (RU 2196045, IPC B27N 3/02, C08L 97/02, published 10/01/2003) and more.
Below is the level of technology for producing a fibrous semi-finished product for the pulp and paper industry from wood and non-wood raw materials using mechanochemical technology.
There is a known method for mechanically producing fibrous mass from fiber-containing raw materials (RU 2697616, IPC D21B1/30, priority 02/05/2018, publ. 08/06/2019, bulletin No. 22), which is produced without heating and steaming in a reactor with water by soaking it and grinding, while soaking and grinding is carried out in active mode when the cutting knife rotates with the simultaneous creation of a vacuum pressure in the resulting funnel, as well as pressure in the chopper stator.
Способ исследован для соломы и щепы, где необходимо не только продольное расщепление, но и поперечное измельчение, что неприемлемо для плотного, хрупкого и коротковолокнистого сырья (лузги подсолнечника).The method has been studied for straw and wood chips, where not only longitudinal splitting is necessary, but also transverse grinding, which is unacceptable for dense, brittle and short-fiber raw materials (sunflower husks).
There is a known method for producing cellulose (RU 2487206, IPC D21C1/06, D21C3/02, D21C 9/00, priority 10/18/2011, published 07/10/2013, bulletin No. 19), which is carried out by sequentially soaking cellulose-containing raw materials in an alkaline solution with NaOH content - 10-60 g/l and surfactant - 0.2-0.8 g/l, thermomechanochemical treatment, pressing, washing, bleaching, pressing, washing, squeezing and drying using a SFC installation. Herbaceous plants are taken as cellulose-containing raw materials, for example, fiber flax, mezheumok, kudryash, green grass, hemp, rapeseed, reed, sunflower, miscanthus, sweet clover, alfalfa, castor bean, Jerusalem artichoke, goat's rue, Sosnovsky's hogweed, corn, etc. etc., of varying degrees of maturity, with a high content of fire, lignin, with a long period of aging in warehouses and in the fields. The invention makes it possible to reduce energy consumption and obtain cellulose that is uniform in quality characteristics.
In the invention, at the stage of raw material preparation, surfactants are used that are difficult to remove from wastewater, which negatively affects the environmental component of the process and requires additional purification, which affects economic efficiency.
The indicated methods (thermo-mechanical processing in a twin-screw apparatus) are applicable for long-fiber plant raw materials (leaves and stems) and do not give a positive result when using sunflower husks, which have lignified cellular short-fiber shells, as a raw material. Before processing, the herbaceous part of plants requires loosening, cleaning of weeds, flowers, seeds and preliminary pruning (cutting) to the required size.
(А.С. 07.12.82).There is a known method for producing wood pulp (WMP) from aspen wood, which includes impregnating wood chips with an alkaline solution consisting of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium sulfite (Na 2 SO 3 ) at elevated temperature, separating the spent impregnating solution, grinding the chips in two stages . Between grinding stages, the mass is treated with a spent impregnating solution at a temperature of 65-90°C for 10-30 minutes. (A.S. No. 979554, IPC D21B1/16, published 12/07/82).
The method has been developed for producing semi-finished fibrous product (SFP) from woody plant raw materials. The disadvantage is the multi-stage process and the use of sulfur-containing compounds.
There is a known method for producing a chemical-thermomechanical mass from jute fibers (RU 2287034, IPC D21B1/16, published on November 10, 2006), which involves impregnating the raw material with an alkaline solution consisting of NaOH and Na 2 CO 3 at a temperature of 90-120 ° C for 5 -15 minutes, grinding in a centrifugal grinding apparatus to a grinding degree of 60°SR.
The method is applicable for producing HMF from jute fibers. The disadvantage is that the method is environmentally friendly and energy-consuming due to the use of a component impregnation solution at elevated temperatures at the stage of impregnation and chemical-thermo-mechanical treatment; heating of the glasses is required. In addition, the hydromodulus of the mass at the processing stages is not indicated (the processed raw materials are transferred to grinding glasses along with a solution of chemicals). The hydromodule is a fundamental technological parameter in diffusion-controlled processes that ensure diffusion of the reagent for obtaining HPF from sunflower husks.
There is a known method for producing cellulose with a high alpha-cellulose content (RU 2380466 (priority EP 05111643.2, 12/02/2005), IPC D21B1/02, D21B1/16, published 01/27/2010, Bulletin No. 3). The method includes a) chemical treatment of raw materials containing lignocellulose by means of an oxidative system that contains at least one non-enzymatic oxidizing agent and activator, at pH from 2 to 6.5 and b) mechanical treatment of raw materials containing lignocellulose for a time sufficient to producing a high alpha-cellulose content pulp, wherein the lignocellulose-containing material is chemically treated before and/or during any mechanical processing step, and where the lignocellulose-containing material is not chemically treated at a pH of from about 11.5 to about 14 between steps a) and b). The method is characterized by the processing of unfibered wood (i.e., wood chips and shavings) into HPF. Mechanical processing of raw materials is carried out in two or more stages using a laboratory refiner, and various types of mechanical impact devices are indicated. The method is characterized by a stage of oxidative action using peroxo compounds, halogen-containing oxidizers, oxygen, nitrogen oxides and combinations thereof, while the oxidation system additionally contains an amplifier selected from nitrogen-containing polycarboxylic acids, nitrogen-containing polyphosphoric acids, nitrogen-containing polyhydric alcohols, oxalic acid, oxalate, glycolate, ascorbic acid acids, acidic acid, nitrilacetate, gallic acid, fundamental acid, itaco acid, hemoglobin, hydroxybenzole, catecholates, chinolins, dimetoxybenzoic acids, dihydroxybenzoic acids, dihydoxybenzyl alcohols, pyridydine, histidyllycin, phthalocyanin, an acetinitris, apertonitril, simple 18-kraunitel, simple 18-kraunitel, simple 18 -6 broadcast, mercaptar acids, cyclohexadienes, polyoxometalates and combinations thereof; ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) and combinations thereof.
The disadvantage is that these compounds are difficult to extract from water, do not leave the possibility of closed water circulation, create a significant environmental load, require a wastewater treatment system, and reduce the economic efficiency of the process. In addition, the method was tested only on wood shavings, a mixture of bark with shavings, spruce wood, aspen wood and is not justifiably generalized to fibers of non-wood annual or perennial plants, for example, straw of grain crops, reed grass, reed, flax, hemp, kenaf, jute , ramie, sisal, abaca, coir, bamboo, bagasse or a combination thereof. The method is not applicable for producing cellulose from sunflower husks, because The husk has a complex structure and the use of an oxidizing system will not provide practical results.
There is a known method for producing a fibrous semi-finished product from sunflower husks with low energy consumption and a process for making paper based on it (CN101694075B, IPC D21C9/18, D21D1/20, D21D5/02, published 04/14/2010). The method involves impregnation and cooking of husks in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate with a foaming agent and a chelating agent. Refining is carried out at 18-22% mass concentration up to 25°SR. The alkaline impregnating reagent contains additional chemical additives (penetrant T, magnesium oxide, chelating agent EDTA), which significantly reduces the environmental safety of the process. The process is characterized by a three-stage redox treatment, additional refining up to 40°SR.
The disadvantage of this method is the multi-stage and lengthy process and environmental friendliness.
There is a known method for producing fiber from sunflower husks, described in patent CN1718915A (IPC D21B1/02, D21B1/12, published 04/18/2007). The invention uses the processes of enzymolysis, digestion and production of cellulose with a low alkali content to obtain fiber.
The disadvantage is the low yield of cellulose. The method is long-term and environmentally unsafe.
There is a known method for producing cellulose mass from sunflower husks (CN1311131C, IPC D21H11/12, D21C3/02, D21C1/00, D21D5/02, published 04/18/2007) in which enzymatic processing and cooking methods are used. Hydrolytic treatment, enzymolysis with a compound enzyme solution for 120 hours, alkaline cooking at 140°C for up to 6 hours, followed by oxidative delignification in sodium hypochlorite solutions are proposed.
The disadvantage of this method is the significant environmental load and long-term process. The efficiency of the process depends on enzymatic processing, but the presence of a dense melanin layer on the husk does not contribute to the effectiveness of its biotechnological processing, because The melanin component of the husk has an anti-enzyme effect during the sunflower growing season and seed storage.

The presence of a fatty layer on the inner surface of the husk was determined, which imparts hydrophobicity to the material under study and complicates the diffusion of the chemical reagent inside the husk plate.
В результате анализа установлены: индекс асимметрии - 0,47; индекс кристалличности по О'Коннор - 0,5.In fig. Figure 3 shows X-ray phase analysis (XRF) of sunflower husks. As a result of the analysis, the following was established: asymmetry index - 0.47; O'Connor crystallinity index - 0.5.
Thus, as a result of the study, the distinctive features of sunflower husks as the raw material for the production of cellulose and fibrous material were revealed:
- все ОН-группа гликопиранозного кольца находятся в прочных внутримолекулярных связях (3423 см-1 -OII-Н…O6 I), это характеризует плотность упаковки целлюлозных фибрилл и объясняет трудную доступность для реагента и как следствие низкую реакционную способность;- all OH groups of the glycopyranose ring are in strong intramolecular bonds (3423 cm -1 -O II -H...O 6 I ), this characterizes the packing density of cellulose fibrils and explains the difficult accessibility for the reagent and, as a consequence, low reactivity;
- меланин покрывает внешнюю поверхность пластинки лузги плотным тонким слоем и как следствие препятствует реакционной способности полимера, при этом меланин препятствуют окислительным и биологическим разрушениям при хранении сырья.- melanin covers the outer surface of the husk plate with a dense thin layer and, as a result, prevents the reactivity of the polymer, while melanin prevents oxidative and biological destruction during storage of raw materials.
As a result of research and depending on the structural and physico-chemical composition of the plant raw material under study (sunflower husk), methods of chemical activation, processing sequences and modes of conducting mechanical impact processes were determined to effectively obtain a practical result.
The method for producing a semi-finished product from sunflower husks is presented in variants and is carried out as follows.
The proposed invention is based on the principles of mechanochemical technology for obtaining HMF from plant raw materials. Defibration of sunflower husks is characterized by mild conditions of preliminary chemical activation: temperature 80-100°C, low concentration of the activating reagent (1-5%), the possibility of carrying out the defibration process in one stage using mechanical action, the possibility of varying the degree of grinding (°FR) of the fibrous material ; creating paper pulp compositions containing prepared fibrous semi-finished product from sunflower husks up to 50%. During the process of hydrolytic or hydrochemical activation, the husk transforms into a flexible plastic state as a result of softening of lignin substances, which makes it easier to grind the husk while maintaining the natural length of the fiber.
To prepare the husks for mechanical defibration, the raw material is initially pre-activated: hydrolytic or chemical-hydrolytic treatment of uncrushed sunflower husk by extracting or soaking the raw material in an aqueous or aqueous-alkaline or aqueous-acidic environment at atmospheric pressure, temperature 80-100°C, at a hydromodulus 1:8-10. Thanks to hydrolytic or chemical-hydrolytic activation, the husk fibers swell, acquire flexibility and plasticity, become soft and pliable, which protects them from severe destruction during grinding and promotes fibrillation. Chemical-hydrolytic treatment is carried out in a low concentration reagent solution (1-5%), which is characterized by a low degree of environmental hazard. The activating reagent is selected from the following: NaOH; HNO3 ; Na 2 S 2 O 4 ; Na 2 SO 3 ; Na 2 CO 3 . Processing is carried out until a flexible and plastic state of the raw material mass is formed, preferably within 10-30 minutes. After achieving plasticity and flexibility, the raw material mass is separated from the solution by known methods. Additionally, the separated alkaline extract can be sent for further processing, because contains a biopolymer of plant origin - melanin, which has high biological activity and which can be used for the production of biologically active and food additives.
According to the first option, the separated raw material mass is subjected to defibration in an aqueous environment at atmospheric pressure and self-heating temperature (70-80°C), at a hydromodulus of 1:16-20 by mechanical action on the plastic husk of the seed by compression, shear, and torsion. In the process of mechanical processing, qualitative changes occur in the crystalline component of cellulose, fibrillation, longitudinal splitting and defibration of the husk occurs due to the breaking of the chemical bond. To carry out mechanical defibration of the husks, a centrifugal grinding apparatus (CMA) is used at 800-1200 rpm. The exposure is carried out until fibers with a degree of grinding of 58-73° SR are formed, preferably within 10-20 minutes. At the end of grinding, the resulting heterogeneous suspension is separated into fibrous material and waste solution by filtration or centrifugation. Such a mechanical effect on the mass in an aqueous environment favors the formation and development of bonds between fibers during paper production, increasing mechanical strength and improving other properties of paper. In paper production, the resulting fibrous semi-finished product is sent to the next stage for the preparation of composite fibrous paper pulp and the production of paper or cardboard. In separate production conditions, the semi-finished fibrous product, if necessary, is washed, dried and stored for sending to the pulp and paper production for the preparation of composite fibrous masses for the production of paper or cardboard.
The aqueous solution is subjected to mechanical purification, diluted with fresh water and returned to the technological cycle.
The difference between the second version of the method and the first is that the activating reagent is selected from the following range: NaOH; HNO 3 , and the separated raw material mass is subjected to defibration by pulsation, cavitation, hydrodynamic and impact effects on the prepared plastic seed husk. For mechanical action, a rotary pulsation type apparatus (RPA) is used at 3000 rpm. Similarly, in the process of mechanical processing, qualitative changes occur in the crystalline component of cellulose, fibrillation, longitudinal splitting and defibration of the husk occurs due to the breaking of the chemical bond. The exposure is carried out until fibers with a grinding degree of 10-28° SR are formed, preferably for 20-30 minutes. The dissolution mode is more gentle, which is important for short-fiber materials; more intense hydration and fibrillation are ensured with virtually no fiber shortening. At the same time, the grinding of the mass increases slightly - by 1-2°SR.

Реализация способа по первому варианту с применением центробежного размалывающего аппарата (ЦРА).Implementation of the method according to the first option using a centrifugal grinding apparatus (CGR).
Thanks to the hydrolytic or chemical-hydrolytic activation of the husk, air is displaced from the capillaries of the dense structure, the husk particles swell, soften, acquire flexibility and plasticity, and become pliable, this protects them from severe destruction during grinding and promotes fibrillation. The prepared husk was unfibered by mechanical action on the plastic husk of the seed by compression, shear, torsion in the CRA at a hydromodulus of 1:16-20 and a self-heating temperature (70-80°C) for 10-20 minutes. As a result, we obtained a fibrous material with a degree of grinding of 58-73°SR, with a yield of 63.5-95.6%, with a content of lignin substances of 27.1-29.4%, alpha-cellulose - 56.0-87.6% . In fig. 4 and fig. Figure 5 shows photographs of fibrous material obtained using the proposed method. The resulting material has high paper-forming properties, is a semi-finished fibrous product (SFP) and can be used for the production of paper or cardboard.
Chemical analysis of the HMF is identified by IR spectra (Fig. 6 and Fig. 7), which show that the natural material does not undergo chemical changes within the framework of the studied technological methods. X-ray studies of the phase state of cellulose obtained in semi-finished products (Fig. 8 and Fig. 9) indicate that during grinding processes there is no significant change in the structural and organizational characteristics of cellulose. The degree of crystallinity of cellulose in the feedstock is 0.5. When milling in RPA, the degree of crystallinity of cellulose remains at the same level - 0.5, while fibrillation of the raw material into fibers occurs, but no modification occurs. When grinding in CPA, the degree of crystallinity increases by 6% (0.56), i.e. Some loosening occurs (amorphization of the target fiber) and this explains the high degree of grinding (50-70°SR) and the good paper-forming properties of the VPF.
Experimental studies on the production of paper samples using VPF were carried out for the first version of the method.
Волокнистый полуфабрикат из лузги подсолнечника характеризуется показателем механической прочности, тестируемой по разрывной длине - 519 м (60°ШР).The fibrous semi-finished product from sunflower husks is characterized by mechanical strength, tested by breaking length - 519 m (60°SR).
The resulting mass was washed on a Buchner funnel with a vacuum (simulating washing on a thickener). A portion of the wet fiber was taken from the resulting folder and the moisture content was determined (GOST 16932-93 (ISO 638-78)).
14363.4-89.A composition of fibrous paper pulp for paper production was made, containing HPF, wood cellulose (softwood (CC) and/or hardwood (LC) and/or recovered waste paper fibers (MM) at different ratios. Castings weighing 125 g/ m2 and 200 g/ m2 were prepared from the wet mass to determine mechanical strength indicators. The castings were produced (without additional fibrillation) on a sheet-casting machine LA-3, according to GOST 14363.4-89.
5.Indicators of the mechanical strength of samples of composite papers and cardboard using VPF from sunflower husks, according to the above criteria, are presented in Table 5.
Preparation
VPF
10).Experimental studies have established that when using VPF containing 100% fibrous paper pulp based on sunflower husks, it is impossible to obtain a durable sheet of paper or cardboard. By adding the resulting VPF from 0.1% to 50% to a composition of fibrous paper pulp based on wood or waste paper pulp, or their compositions, paper samples with acceptable mechanical strength were obtained (Table 5). Thus, the resulting fibrous semi-finished product containing fibrous material based on sunflower husks can be used in an amount from 0.1% to 50% as an additive (additional component) to the composition of fibrous paper pulp for the production of paper or cardboard based on wood cellulose or recovered waste paper fibers or combinations thereof. The resulting paper samples are illustrated with photographs (Fig. 10).
Кроме того, изобретение обеспечивает экологичность производства ВПФ, снижение парогазовых выбросов, доступность производства, снижение себестоимости конечного продукта (композиционных бумаг).The claimed invention will expand the arsenal of VPF based on sunflower husks, which can be used as a component (additive) in the manufacture of paper, cardboard (corrugated cardboard), expands the raw material base for obtaining a fibrous semi-finished product from oil production waste, allows obtaining fibrous material with high yield, high alpha-cellulose content and high paper-forming properties while reducing the amount of biomass loss, reducing material and energy costs and simplifying the method of obtaining a fibrous semi-finished product. In addition, the invention ensures environmental friendliness of the production of VPF, reduction of steam and gas emissions, accessibility of production, and reduction of the cost of the final product (composite papers).
