Abstract
Description
(Lisa DiBernardi, Monique Dore, John A Davis, Jane G Owens, Sulma I Mohammed, Carolyn F Guptill, Deborah W Knapp.Study of feline oral squamous cell carcinoma: potential target for cyclooxygenase inhibitor treatment. Prostaglandins Leukot Essent Fatty Acids. 2007 Apr; 76(4):245-50. doi: 10.1016/j.plefa.2007.01.006. Epub 2007 Mar 26).The invention relates to veterinary medicine and can be used in the treatment of inoperable squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity in cats. A known method of treating inoperable oral squamous cell carcinoma in cats by administering a drug containing a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug in a known method, piroxicam is used at a dose of 0.2-0.4 mg/kg of animal body weight, and the administration is carried out 1 time per day every day with an interval of 22-26 hours for life (Lisa DiBernardi, Monique Dore, John A Davis, Jane G Owens, Sulma I Mohammed, Carolyn F Guptill, Deborah W Knapp, Study of feline oral squamous cell carcinoma: potential target for cyclooxygenase inhibitor treatment Prostaglandins Leukot Essent Fatty Acids 2007 Apr;76(4):245-50 doi: 10.1016/j.plefa.2007.01.006 Epub 2007 Mar 26).
However, the known method has an ineffective analgesic effect, increases the median survival of the animal and reduces the size of the tumor.
The technical result of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the method by increasing the median survival of the animal, reducing the size of the tumor.
The technical result is achieved in a method for the treatment of inoperable squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity in cats by oral administration once a day every day with an interval of 22-26 hours for a lifelong drug containing a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug in that Petkam is used as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug at a dose of 0.05 -0.2 mg/kg animal body weight. Petka in mono mode is prescribed to cats in cases where chemotherapy treatment can lead to severe side effects due to concomitant pathologies of body systems.
2021).Petkam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug from the oxicam group, the active ingredient is meloxicam. Petkam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic effects (Handbook of Medicines, Vidal .... / Petkam, Vidal Rus, 2021).

The invention is illustrated in the following examples.
Example 1. Four groups of cats with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity are selected, according to the principle of analogues, 10 animals in each group. The first group was orally administered Petkam at a dose of 0.05 mg/kg, the second group - Petkam at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg, the third group - Petkam at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg. In groups 1-3 Petkam were injected with an interval of 26 hours. The fourth group served as control: the animals were administered, as in the known method, piroxicam at a dose of 0.4 mg/kg of animal body weight 1 time per day with an interval of 24 hours.
(100%).As a result, in the first three groups, the tumor significantly decreased in size by 15-30% in 10 animals (50%), stabilization of the disease was found in 2 cats (14%). Cats from groups 1-3 relapsed after 3 months or more of treatment. In the fourth control group, acute clinical signs persisted in all animals (0%), and disease progression occurred in all cats (100%).
Example 2. Select four groups of cats with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity, according to the principle of analogues, 10 animals in each group. The first group was orally administered Petkam at a dose of 0.05 mg/kg, the second group - Petkam at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg, the third group - Petkam at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg. In groups 1-3 Petkam were injected with an interval of 22 hours. The fourth group served as control: the animals were administered, as in the known method, piroxicam at a dose of 0.4 mg/kg of animal body weight 1 time per day with an interval of 24 hours.
(100%).As a result, in the first three groups, the tumor significantly decreased in size by 10-15% in 10 animals (50%), stabilization of the disease was found in 2 cats (14%). Cats from groups 1-3 relapsed after 3 months or more of treatment. In the fourth control group, acute clinical signs persisted in all animals (0%), and disease progression occurred in all cats (100%).
10-15%.Thus, the proposed method for the treatment of inoperable squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity of cats allows a 20% increase in the median survival of the animal, reduce the size of the tumor by 10-15%.
