Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of nuclear energy and safety devices for nuclear power plants (NPPs) in severe accidents. The invention is intended for use in nuclear power plants of various types.
State of the art
The most important problem of nuclear energy is ensuring the safety of nuclear power plants in severe accidents with core melting. The aim of modern safety systems at nuclear power plants is to prevent the penetration of the reactor vessel by the so-called corium - a mixture of nuclear fuel with metal parts and other components. In the event of an accident with loss of coolant cooling the nuclear installation, numerous safety systems are used for this, using pumps and containers with a prepared boric acid solution for its supply to the reactor vessel and special sump tanks collecting coolant draining from damaged pipelines, as well as for supplying to the reactor vessel. In the case of a severe accident with the loss of power sources, melt localization devices (ULR) are widely used in modern practice - separate devices located below the bottom of the reactor and filled with specially prepared materials. Such devices localize and cool the corium, however, they are very expensive in production and construction; in addition, none of these devices has yet been tested in practice, since severe accidents have not yet occurred in power plants equipped with HRM. At the same time, systems aimed at retaining the melt of the reactor core in a severe accident could even delay this moment in the case of the melting of the reactor vessel, partially cool the corium and thereby give more chances for HRM to retain the corium, and if the melt was held in the vessel reliably reactor - to give the opportunity to abandon the expensive HRM. In addition, the use of such a melt retention system in the reactor vessel in those projects of NPPs under construction that do not provide for HRM can significantly increase the safety of such NPPs.
As mentioned above, various technical solutions have been used in the art.
Known nuclear reactor (RF patent for the invention No. 2496163, publ. 11/27/2011), containing a tank in which the reactor core is located, a primary circuit for cooling the reactor, a tank well in which the tank is located, an annular channel surrounding the lower part of the tank in the tank well, means configured to fill the tank well with liquid, the sealed reactor vessel in which the tank well and tank are located, the reactor comprises means for collecting steam generated at the upper end of the tank well, located in the sealed enclosure and forming a volume separated from the sealed volume housing, providing the appearance of excess steam pressure, means made with the possibility of creating forced convection of the liquid in the annular channel, and means for actuating means made with the possibility of creating forced convection, using the specified collected steam.
Such a reactor makes it possible to increase the safety of its operation in an autonomous mode, without supplying external energy. Its drawback, however, is the insufficient safety of its use in stand-alone mode in a severe accident due to the use of complex devices for converting thermal energy into mechanical energy and further transfer of mechanical energy.
There is also known a system for holding the melt in the reactor vessel with a heat-conducting wall of the reactor shaft for an accident (patent of the People's Republic of China for invention No. 104036833, publ. 09/10/2014), containing a nuclear reactor located in the shaft located above the reactor shaft with a coolant tank connected to pressure a pipe with the outer side of the heat-conducting wall of the reactor shaft, while the annular water corridor is connected by a closed pipe to the tank to maintain the water level. Such a system makes it possible to increase the safety of nuclear power plants by cooling the melt in the reactor vessel, however, it does not provide passive operation, since it requires opening valves to start the operation of the system.
Closest to the claimed invention is a system for removing heat from the body of a nuclear reactor (RF patent No. 2649417 for an invention, publ. 04/03/2018) containing at least one pump connected to a source of cooling water for forced pumping of cooling water outside the body thermoelectric converters of direct conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy, installed on the outer surface of the reactor vessel, and at least one electric motor for driving the pump, powered by thermoelectric converters.
Such a system makes it possible to increase the efficiency of heat transfer due to the forced circulation of the coolant while ensuring the passivity requirement of the system operation mode (i.e., without an external source and control action). Its drawback, however, is the insufficient safety of its use in stand-alone mode in a severe accident due to the use of complex devices for converting thermal energy into electrical energy and the need to use an electric motor to drive the pump.
The objective of the present invention is to develop a system for holding the melt in the reactor vessel, which allows for the retention of the melt in the reactor vessel at different severity of the accident in both passive and active mode.
The technical result of the present invention is to improve the safety of nuclear power plants by providing the ability to hold the melt in the nuclear reactor vessel in an accident of varying severity in both passive and active mode.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that in the known system of internal containment of the melt containing the reactor located in the mine, the coolant circulation pump outside the reactor vessel and the storage tank, the storage tank is located in the mine under the bottom of the reactor vessel, additional pit tanks are located above the bottom of the reactor vessel with the possibility of collecting coolant in the event of an accident with loss of coolant, while the storage tank is connected to the upper part of the pit tanks by channels of coolant.
To achieve a technical result, the following measures can be additionally taken:
- выполнить дефлектор с оребрением,- perform a deflector with fins,
- снабдить накопительный бак фильтром,- supply the storage tank with a filter,
- связать накопительный бак трубопроводами с внешними источниками охлаждающей жидкости,- connect the storage tank by pipelines with external sources of coolant,
- связать накопительный бак трубопроводом с системой конденсации пара, расположенной выше корпуса реактора, а шахту реактора - с системой конденсации пара каналами отвода пара,- connect the storage tank with a pipeline to the steam condensation system located above the reactor vessel, and the reactor shaft to the steam condensation system by the steam removal channels,
- ввести специальную накопительную емкость в трубопровод, связывающий систему конденсации пара и накопительный бак.- introduce a special storage tank into the pipeline connecting the steam condensation system and the storage tank.
An advantage of the present invention is to increase the safety of nuclear power plants by providing the possibility of retaining the melt in the nuclear reactor vessel in an accident of varying severity, both in passive and in active mode. The location of the storage tank in the mine under the bottom of the reactor vessel, connected by channels of coolant supply to the upper part of the pit tanks located above the bottom of the reactor vessel with the possibility of collecting coolant in the event of an accident with loss of coolant, makes it possible to hold the melt in the reactor vessel during an accident of various severity in both passive and active modes due to the possibility of accumulation of coolant in the pit tanks in a situation where the pumps of the ECCS system are not functioning, followed by its supply to the storage tank for cooling the reactor. The installation of a baffle in the reactor shaft affects the technical result by ensuring equalization of heat flows during reactor cooling. The finning of the deflector increases its area, which allows to increase the heat flux while cooling the reactor vessel. The introduction of a filter into the storage tank allows for the purification of the coolant, which increases the possibility of cooling the reactor vessel. Ensuring that the storage tank is connected by pipelines to external sources of coolant allows for more efficient cooling of the reactor vessel in active mode, i.e. while maintaining the efficiency of the pumps of the ECCS system. Providing a connection between the storage tank and the pipeline with the steam condensation system located above the reactor vessel, and the reactor shafts with the steam condensation system through the steam removal channels allows providing an additional coolant movement circuit with heat transfer through the steam condensation system. The introduction into the pipeline connecting the steam condensation system and the storage tank of a special storage tank allows for the precipitation of boric acid in it, which was originally contained in the coolant (water), which avoids its deposition on the surfaces forming the cooling channel of the reactor vessel, which in turn would reduce the heat flow cooling the reactor vessel.

However, in some cases, well-known or traditionally used parts are not described so as not to clutter up the description.
Unless otherwise specified, all technical and scientific terms used in the present description have the meanings adopted among specialists in the field of technology to which the present invention relates.
When the NPP operates at power, the coolant (water with a certain content of boric acid) is contained in special tanks, such as the hydraulic capacities of the ECCS system and the second hydraulic tanks, revision shafts, as well as in the
In a beyond design basis accident with a loss of coolant that does not lead to the cessation of the operation of the ECCS system, the liquid is taken from the
In a severe accident, characterized by the loss of energy sources for the pumps of the ECCS system, the water from the pit tanks ceases to flow into the
In addition to the above-described method of cooling the
In this case, water is supplied for the gulf of the reactor mine from the maximum number of various sources available (depending on the accident scenario) - from the main circulation circuit, from the hydraulic reservoirs of the ECCS system and hydraulic tanks of the second stage, from the inspection mines, from sources outside the containment .
In both cases, the resulting steam-water mixture is discharged through the
1.In a preferred embodiment, the
Elements of the melt retention system in the reactor vessel, as well as related systems, can be equipped with instrumentation necessary to monitor and control a severe beyond design basis accident.
5.It is also possible to use in the melt retention system in the reactor vessel such means of intensifying heat transfer between the reactor vessel and cooling water, such as fins of the
The use of the melt retention system in the reactor vessel in power unit and reactor installation projects does not lead to a deterioration in operational characteristics (installed capacity utilization factor (KIUM), availability coefficient, time and dose costs during maintenance and repair), and an increase in heat losses from equipment.
The melt retention system in the reactor vessel does not impede the operation of ventilation ducts in the concrete of the mine and the passage of cooling air between the thermal insulation of the vessel and the dry protection metal structure in normal operation, normal operation, and emergency conditions (design basis accident and beyond design basis accident without core melting).
As shown above, the design of the elements of the melt retention system in the reactor vessel eliminates the ingress of water onto the reactor vessel under all conditions except a severe accident to reduce the number of loading cycles of the vessel.
The lower part of the
It is also possible to use standard ECCS filters to ensure the purity of the water supplied to the melt retention system in the reactor vessel.
As shown in FIG. 2,
При этом подача воды в шахту реактора осуществляется только после аварий с потерей теплоносителя.- pipelines for the supply of water from the tanks-pits 2 ECC. The feed channel is above the nominal water level in the
- трубопроводы подачи воды из шахт ревизии внутрикорпусных устройств.- pipelines for supplying water from the mines of the revision of the internal devices.
- трубопроводы подачи воды из внешних источников.- pipelines for supplying water from external sources.
