Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy and can be used to obtain powder materials based on titanium.
In various industries, powders of titanium and its alloys are used to obtain products for a wide range of purposes. For the manufacture of parts from titanium alloys by powder metallurgy methods, there are a number of basic methods, such as: hot and cold isostatic pressing, hydrostatic pressing, dynamic hot pressing, cold pressing followed by sintering, etc. The cold pressing method of workpieces with their subsequent sintering is the easiest in hardware equipment, less energy-consuming, easily feasible in production compared to the others listed above.
1984, с. 116-117).A known method of producing a powder material based on titanium, comprising preparing a mixture of Ti + Al alloys and pure metals Mo, Zr V, pressing powder briquettes at 900 MPa, sintering at a temperature of 1100-1430 ° C and holding for 2-7 hours. The resulting powder of VT-20 alloy contains 6-7% Al, 1-2% Zr, 1-2% Mo, 1-2% V, Ti - the rest. (Antsiferov V.N., Ustinov B.C., Olesov Yu.G. Sintered alloys based on titanium. M .: Metallurgy. 1984, p. 116-117).
The disadvantage of this method is the low strength of the powder material obtained even at a temperature of 1400-1430 ° C, which is due to the high Al content, because upon dissolution of aluminum in α-titanium, a brittle α 2 phase is formed, which leads to a decrease in the quality of the obtained material.
As a prototype, a method for producing titanium-based powder material was adopted (RF patent No. 2555698, IPC B22F 3/15. С22С 1/04, С22С 14/00, published July 10, 2015, bull. No. 19) comprising preparing a mixture containing no more than 65 wt. % of the powder obtained by plasma spraying of VT-22 titanium alloy, not less than 30 wt. % of a mixture of technical titanium powders PTM-1 (titanium powder obtained by the hydride-calcium method) and PNA nickel (nickel powder obtained by the carbonyl method), taken in a ratio of 1: 1, and 3-5 wt. % obtained by electrolysis of copper powder PMS-1 fraction of less than 50 microns. The resulting mixture is pressed at a pressure of 800-1000 MPa, and then sintering in vacuum at a temperature of at least 900 ° C for more than 1 hour.
The disadvantage of the prototype is the insufficiently high strength and hardness of the powder material, even at a pressure of 1000 MPa, which is due to insufficient homogenization of the powder components and the lack of sufficient interaction of the particles of the powder material.
The technical result of the claimed invention is to obtain a powder material based on titanium having high strength and hardness, suitable for the manufacture of machine parts and special-purpose mechanisms.
%:The specified technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method comprising preparing a mixture of components containing a powder obtained by plasma spraying of a VT-22 titanium alloy and PTM-1 titanium powder, pressing the mixture and sintering, according to the invention, nickel-aluminum powder is additionally introduced into the mixture alloy grade Н70Ю30 while maintaining the ratio of components, wt. %:
65alloy powder VT-22 no more than 65
30PTM-1 titanium powder not less than 30
30 no more than 5, pressing the resulting mixture is carried out at a pressure of 1500-1900 MPa, and then sintering in a protective helium atmosphere at a temperature of at least 900 ° C with a holding time of at least 4 hours.
The use of the prepared mixture as components, in addition to the powder obtained by plasma spraying of VT-22 alloy and technical PTM-1 titanium powder, N70Y30 nickel-aluminum alloy powder makes it possible to control the density of the material during pressing with increasing hardness due to the formation of intermetallic phases. The obtained powder material has a uniform alloy structure, which is explained by the homogenization of the components and this is confirmed by the microstructure of the obtained samples, shown in the figure.
Moreover, obtaining a powder material with high strength and hardness is achieved by observing the claimed ratio of components in the mixture and performing pressing and sintering operations in the indicated pressure and temperature ranges.
Pressing at a pressure of less than 1500 MPa and sintering at a temperature below 900 ° C in a protective helium atmosphere with a holding time of less than 4 hours does not allow obtaining high strength samples due to insufficient diffusion of components and homogenization of the sintered material. The increase in pressure above 1900 MPa is impractical, since it does not lead to a further increase in strength.
The proposed method is as follows: the powder obtained by spraying with titanium plasma of grade VT-22 fraction of less than 100 microns, mixed with technical powders of titanium PTM-1 and powder of nickel-aluminum alloy H70Y30 fraction of less than 100 microns, while maintaining the ratio of components in the mixture in wt. %: VT-22 no more than 65, PTM-1 no less than 30 and Н70Ю30 no more than 5. After preparing the mixture of the claimed composition, one-time pressing is carried out at 1500-1900 MPa in a collapsible mold and the product is sintered in a protective helium atmosphere at a temperature not less than 900 ° C with smooth heating and holding for at least 4 hours, after which the resulting powder material is cooled in an oven.
The method was tested in laboratory conditions.

Получен порошковый материал, состав, мас %: Ti - 83,1-85,0; Ni - 3,5-4,0; Fe - 0,5-1,0; Cr - 0,5-1,0; Al - 4,0-6,0; V - 2,1-3,5; Mo - 1,8-3,0; Ca<0,004; C≤0,06, O≤0,15, N≤0,003, H≤0,05.A mixture was prepared consisting of VT-22 powder, PTM-1 powder and H70Y30, with a particle size of less than 100 microns. The ratio of components in the mixture varied within, wt. %: VT-22 alloy powder 60-70, PTM-1 powder 10-35, nickel-aluminum alloy powder H70Y30 3-30. After the mixture was prepared, it was pressed at 1500-1900 MPa in a collapsible mold, the obtained briquettes were sintered in a protective helium atmosphere at a temperature of at least 900 ° C for at least 4 hours, after which the obtained powder material was cooled in an oven. The obtained powder material, composition, wt.%: Ti - 83.1-85.0; Ni - 3.5-4.0; Fe - 0.5-1.0; Cr - 0.5-1.0; Al - 4.0-6.0; V - 2.1-3.5; Mo - 1.8-3.0; Ca <0.004; C≤0.06, O≤0.15, N≤0.003, H≤0.05.
2.The results of experiments to obtain a powder material and its properties (density, strength and hardness of sintered briquettes) are shown in table 2.
The table shows that the powder material composition: powder alloy VT-22, powders PTM-1 and H70U30 in a ratio of 65-25-10 wt. % has a hardness and strength lower than that of the prototype, and pure alloy VT-22 (according to reference data in the annealed form, VT-22 has a hardness of 283NV), when tested for diametrical compression, the sample begins to break at a load of 35770N.
The optimal composition of the titanium-based powder material is a mixture of VT-22 alloy powders, PTM-1 and Н70Ю30 powders in a ratio of 65-30-5 wt. % The sample has a hardness and strength higher than in the prototype. In the diametric compression test, the edge broke off at a load of 38432N, while the sample itself remained intact, with no signs of destruction.
An axial compression test showed that samples 1 and 2 at maximum load of 84,000 N were not destroyed.
The proposed method allows to obtain a powder material based on titanium with high strength and hardness suitable for the manufacture of machine parts and special-purpose mechanisms.
