Description
WEAR-RESISTANT COATING
The utility model relates to mechanical engineering, namely to the processing of metals by cutting and can be used in the operations of turning blanks of various materials.
Known wear-resistant coatings on a cutting tool (RI) of titanium nitride (TiN) or complex titanium nitride and molybdenum ((Ti, Mo) N), applied to the working surfaces of the tool by the method of physical deposition of coatings (POP) (see Tabakov V.P. The performance of a cutting tool with wear-resistant coatings based on complex nitrides and titanium carbonitrides. Ulyanovsk: UlSTU, 1998. 122 p.). The reasons that impede the achievement of the technical result indicated below when using these coatings are either insufficient adhesion of the coating material and tool base, or insufficient microhardness of the coating, or low resistance to temperature fluctuations. As a result of this, the coating either quickly cleaves off the surface of the tool, is easily subjected to abrasive wear, or cracks quickly nucleate and propagate in it, leading to the destruction of the coating, which reduces the resistance of RS with the coating.
The closest wear-resistant coating of the same purpose to the claimed utility model in terms of features is a two-layer coating, the inner layer of which consists of TiCN, and the outer layer of TIN, applied by the method of chemical deposition of coatings (OCP) (see A. Vereshchaka, Cutting tool working capacity with wear-resistant coatings. M.: Engineering, 1993. S. 300), adopted as a prototype.
14/00 The reasons that impede the achievement of the technical result indicated below when using the well-known wear-resistant coating adopted as a prototype include the fact that in the well-known MPC C23C14 / 00
The upper layer (TiN) has a relatively low microhardness, and the lower layer (TiCN) has insufficient adhesion with the instrumental matrix. In addition, there is a big difference between the residual stresses in the coating and the tool base, which causes premature chipping of the coating from the working surfaces of the tool. As a result, the coating poorly resists abrasive wear, which leads to destruction of the coating and a decrease in the resistance of radiation sources.
Recently, the increase in the cost of metal-cutting tools and stricter requirements for the accuracy of machined parts have made the problem of increasing the resistance of radiation sources even more urgent. One of the ways to increase the durability and performance of coated RIs is by applying multilayer coatings. The presence in the coating of layers with certain thermophysical and mechanical properties makes it possible to inhibit the processes of coating destruction without reducing the microhardness, to improve the thermal stress state of RS with a coating, and to increase the resistance of RS.
The technical result is an increase in the health of the Republic of Ingushetia and the quality of processing.
The specified technical result in the implementation of the utility model is achieved by the fact that the wear-resistant coating is multilayer. A feature of the claimed utility model is that the upper layer consists of (Ti, Mo) N, providing high microhardness of the multilayer composition, and the lower layer, TiN, which is softer, has a lower level of residual compressive stresses compared to (Ti, Mo) N and has good adhesion with the tool material and the material of the upper layer. The figure shows a wear-resistant coating scheme.
The inventive utility model contains a wear-resistant coating.
(Ti,Mo)N.1 applied to a cutting tool 2, consisting of two layers. The lower layer 3 consists of TIN, and the upper layer 4 consists of (Ti, Mo) N.
1.The invention consists in the following. In the process of continuous cutting, which is turning, the tool is more exposed to abrasive wear. The cutting zone is characterized by a constant high temperature. Therefore, the coating 1 applied to RI 2 should provide high hardness and maintain it at high temperatures. In addition, the coating should not be chipped from the working surfaces of RI. As a result, the upper layer of coating 4 should have the highest microhardness, and the lower layer 3 - the best adhesion with the tool material and the material of the upper layer. The mechanical properties of single-layer coatings are given in table. 1.

For experimental verification of the claimed utility model, a prototype coating was applied with the ratio of the layers indicated in the known wear-resistant coating, as well as the proposed two-layer coating. The coatings were applied to carbide plates in the vacuum chamber of the Bulat-6T installation equipped with three vacuumTable 1 with no-arc evaporators located horizontally in one
1-0.the plane. VT1-0 titanium alloy was used as cathodes of the evaporated metal.
Plates with coatings other than those specified in the utility model formula showed lower results. Application as a higher layer of material with a higher hardness led to an increase in the gradient of residual compressive stresses in the coating, thereby adhesion of the upper and inner layers to each other and to the tool base decreased, the coating was more rapidly destroyed during cutting. A decrease in the hardness of the upper layer led to an increase in the abrasive wear of the coating, and, as a result, a decrease in the tool life.
As can be seen from the table. 2 data, the resistance of the plates, with the proposed coating, higher wear resistance of the plates, with the coating of the prototype 1.6-1.8 times. Thus, the proposed coating can increase the wear resistance of tools and reduce the consumption of tool materials, which increases the efficiency of the tool with coatings.
