Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of geophysics and can be used for prospecting and mineral exploration.
A known method of vibrational seismic exploration, which generate a vibrational signal with a fixed amplitude of the reactive mass of the vibration source, transmitting the excited vibrations to the rocks through the base plate of the vibration source and register seismic vibrations. Changes in the amplitude of the stroke of the reactive mass of the vibration source in the low-frequency region are set constant by choosing a nonlinear dependence of the amplitude and frequency on time. When generating a signal, the excited oscillations are divided into intervals, the construction of the oscillation signal starts from the initial frequency with a certain interval to the cutoff frequency based on the constancy of the amplitude of the stroke of the reactive mass (RU 2570587 publ.) The main disadvantage of this method is the low resolution of the obtained seismic recording due to the influence of filtering properties geological environment.

To date, large onshore hydrocarbon deposits on land have been explored. Exploration and re-exploration are aimed at isolating thin hydrocarbon-containing formations by increasing the high-frequency component of the seismic record and deep geological horizons using ultra-low frequencies. Seismic exploration can be designed either to isolate thin layers, or to increase the depth of seismic surveys. Standard seismic techniques do not allow this to be done in one seismic survey.
52, 79 [1]): When conducting seismic surveys using the vibration method, a vibrational linear frequency-modulated signal is usually used, which has come into geophysics from radio engineering (chirp signal). Such a signal has the same spectral density at all frequencies (the amplitude of the vibrational signal is the same at each frequency), usually from 8 to 100 Hz. In a simplified form, the LFM signal can be recorded in the following form (Zhukov A.P., Kolesov S.V., Shekhtman G.A., Schneerson M.B. Seismic exploration with vibration sources // Tver, LLC GERS Publishing House, 2011 , p. 52, 79 [1]):
, где F1 – начальная частота (Гц), F2 – конечная частота (Гц), Т – длительность сигнала (сек.), t – текущий момент времени (сек.). where F 1 is the initial frequency (Hz), F 2 is the final frequency (Hz), T is the signal duration (sec.), t is the current time (sec.).
After the vibration signal passes through the earth's thickness, high frequencies are attenuated, and ultra-low frequencies (1-8 Hz) are not generated by standard vibration sources in order to avoid their failure.
[1]:Standard nonlinear vibrational signals are rarely used in seismic surveys. The amplitude-frequency characteristic (AFC) of a seismogram at high frequencies allows one to distinguish thin phases of seismic reflections, but the range of recorded low frequencies on a seismogram is significantly reduced (due to the peculiarities of excitation of a vibrational nonlinear frequency-modulated signal in its initial part), which leads to the loss of useful reflections visible on the gather. In a simplified form, a nonlinear vibrational signal, for example, a power signal “dB / Octave” (dB / Oct), can be written in the following form [1]:
, где F1 – начальная частота (Гц), F2 – конечная частота (Гц), Т – длительность сигнала (сек.), t – текущий момент времени (сек.), n – октава (при n=1 октава = 0, сигнал принимает форму ЛЧМ). where F 1 is the initial frequency (Hz), F 2 is the final frequency (Hz), T is the signal duration (sec.), t is the current time (sec.), n is the octave (for n = 1 octave = 0 , the signal takes the form of chirps).
As a result, the resolution of seismic records of vibrational seismic surveys in many areas is low when using the chirp signal. This circumstance does not allow constructing a high-precision model of the studied earth mass. The depth of the study is also small and due to the lack of ultra-low frequencies when using the LFM signal.
The extension of the frequency range of the excited vibrational signal — the generation of ultra-low frequencies and the increase in the amplitude of the vibrational signal at high frequencies is complicated by the design features of modern vibrational sources, technical limitations, such as limiting the movement of the reactive mass and piston.
The technical problem solved by the invention is to increase the resolution of the seismic survey method while increasing the depth of seismic surveys.
The technical result of the invention, which allows to solve this problem, is to increase the amplitude of the recorded seismic response of the medium in the entire range of recorded frequencies.
The technical result is achieved by the method of broadband vibrational seismic exploration, which consists in the fact that they excite seismic vibrations in the geological environment by exposing it to a vibrational linear frequency-modulated (LFM) signal, record the response of the geological environment to the vibrational effect in the form of a seismogram and determine the amplitude-frequency characteristic ( Frequency response) of the geological environment by seismogram. Next, the optimal correcting broadband vibrational seismic signal is calculated by inverting the amplitude spectrum of the seismogram, i.e., specify the shape of the frequency response of the seismogram that you want to receive (as the desired shape of the frequency response recorded by the seismogram, you can specify the shape of the LFM signal) and divide it by the frequency response of the seismogram obtained by exposure to the LFM signal . Re-excite seismic vibrations in the geological environment by exposing it to a vibrational frequency-modulated signal having the spectrum of the calculated broadband signal, and record a seismogram with the frequency response of the desired shape.

There are many factors that significantly affect the change in energy and spectral characteristics (AFC) of recorded seismic records. Here is some of them:
- сферическое расхождение, пропорциональное квадрату расстояния от источника возбуждения;- spherical discrepancy proportional to the square of the distance from the excitation source;
- неупругое затухание энергии или естественное поглощение энергии сигнала неупругими частицами среды, причём степень поглощения энергии пропорциональна частоте;- inelastic energy attenuation or natural absorption of signal energy by inelastic particles of the medium, and the degree of energy absorption is proportional to the frequency;
- неоднородность верхней части разреза (ВЧР); данный фактор влияет на прохождение сигнала как фильтр с меняющимися по латерали характеристиками;- heterogeneity of the upper part of the section (VChR); this factor affects the signal transmission as a filter with changing lateral characteristics;
- сейсмогеологические свойства сложно-построенной слоистой среды.- seismogeological properties of a complex-built layered medium.
As a result of the influence of all of the above factors, when registering a seismogram, the excited vibrational signal, passing through the filter of the geological environment, changes significantly. Figure 1 presents the amplitude-frequency characteristic (AFC) of the excited LFM signal. In the ideal case, the frequency response of the seismic record on the seismogram will be exactly the same. However, if there are absorption factors (geological environment filter) indicated above, the shape of the frequency response of the recorded seismogram will be as shown in FIG. Here, a fairly typical form of the frequency response of recorded seismograms is illustrated. The attenuation of the recording energy increases with increasing frequency.
Numerous and diverse means of processing seismic data are aimed at compensating for the influence of these factors. These include various methods for reconstructing amplitudes, as well as a number of processing procedures that belong to the category of inverse filters. And in many cases, satisfactory results are achieved by the processing means. However, it is not uncommon for the absorption of signal energy to the extent that the level of the recorded signal does not exceed the noise level. Figure 3 shows a typical example, when upon excitation of seismic vibrations by a vibrational signal in a wide frequency range, the energy of the recorded signal is almost completely absorbed by the medium in the high-frequency region. And in this case, the use of known means of processing seismic signals will be meaningless. Signal recovery will be impossible, since it is physically absent in the gather.
As a solution to the described problem, the idea of redistributing the energy of the excited sweep signal from the low-frequency region, where energy attenuation is manifested to a lesser extent, to the region of ultra-low and high frequencies is proposed. Of course, this idea already has existing implementations in the form of nonlinear functional frequency-modulated vibration signals of the dB / Oct type. But the excitation of a nonlinear frequency-modulated signal is aimed, first of all, at compensating for the natural attenuation of the signal based on the static physical model and generating ultra-low frequencies that are absent in the LFM signal. Thus, the use of “traditional” nonlinear vibrational signals can only partially compensate for the influence of the two simplest negative factors and in no way takes into account the changing surface conditions and heterogeneities of the upper part of the section of the geological environment.
The developed method can be considered as the next progressive step in the development of technology for exciting nonlinear functional sweep signals, since this technology is aimed at compensating for the influence of inhomogeneities in the upper part of the section and at obtaining more uniform energy characteristics (AFC) of the records on the seismic survey area.
To describe the physical principles on which the method is built, it is convenient to use a convolutional model of the recorded seismic signal of the geological environment (see figure 4). So, the spectrum of the recorded seismogram can be considered as a convolution of the sweep signal excited by the LFM and the frequency response (filter) of the geological environment, which in the spectral region corresponds to the multiplication of their amplitude-frequency characteristics.
Under certain assumptions, the frequency response of the seismogram can really be considered an approximation of a medium filter.
фиг.5).Thus, subject to the described conditions, the characteristics of the broadband signal can be calculated. The principle of uniformity of the amplitude spectrum at the system output was chosen as the main criterion. In this case, the problem statement will look as follows: if the frequency response of the broadband nonlinear vibration signal is unknown, the frequency response of the geological environment is known that acts on the sent vibration signal and the shape of the frequency response of the desired result when seismic data is recorded (see Fig. 5).
Thus, the spectral characteristic of the acting vibration signal is calculated as the inverse filter with the known filtering characteristic of the medium and with the known desired result. The frequency response of a broadband non-linear vibrational signal is a simple inversion obtained by dividing the frequency response of the chirp signal on the frequency response of the geological environment (see Fig.6). Thus, at each point of excitation of seismic oscillations, it is possible to compensate for the influence of frequency-dependent attenuation of high frequencies.
In order to generate a new calculated broadband nonlinear frequency-modulated (FM) vibration signal, the developed method involves approximating the amplitude spectrum of the calculated broadband vibration signal with a set of adjustment adaptation coefficients with a regular frequency step. An example of such an approximation is shown in Fig.7. Here, a comparison of the frequency response of the geological environment and the correction coefficients of adaptation for calculating the corrective broadband vibration signal is shown. Adjustment coefficients of adaptation are shown in columns. The operating frequency range of 3 - 84 Hz is divided into 16 segments of equal width, while the frequency step is 5.06 Hz. In this case, the range of ultra-low frequencies from 3 to 10 Hz is approximated by two correcting adaptation coefficients. Moreover, the correction coefficients are calculated so that at ultra-low frequencies the amplitude does not exceed the parameters of the reactive mass stroke set by the manufacturer in order to avoid the failure of the vibration unit. The high-frequency region of the spectrum of 40 - 84 Hz is approximated by the 9th correcting adaptation coefficients, while the energy variations in this part of the spectrum are minimal and the values of the correcting adaptation coefficients are insignificant.
Next, seismic vibrations in the geological environment are repeatedly excited by exposing it to a broadband vibrational FM signal having the spectrum of the calculated correction signal, and a seismogram with the frequency response of the desired shape is recorded.
