Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a technology for coating on the surface of products, and in particular to methods for producing coatings using inorganic powder, and can be used in various industries.
A known method of brass plating (Patent RU 2048603 C1 of November 20, 1995), which includes galvanic processes of sequentially depositing a layer of copper and zinc on the surface of steel products and subsequent two-stage heat treatment at a temperature of 450-550 ° C and 300-450 ° C to undergo the diffusion process and the formation of the structure and phases inherent in brass. The disadvantages of this method include the need for thorough preparation of the surface of steel products and quality control of chemical solutions to obtain good adhesive properties of the coating, while galvanic methods are among the harmful technological industries with high energy consumption.
Для нанесения покрытия латуни используется механическая смесь частиц меди, цинка и корунда в весовом соотношении компонентов Cu : Zn : Al2 O3 = 35% : 35% : 30% марки (С - 01 - 11) (Патент RU 2109842 от 27.04.1998).Closest to the claimed solution is a method for producing a coating, which consists in applying an accelerated gas stream heated to a temperature of 540 °, a mechanical mixture of powders consisting of metals and a chemical compound (aluminum oxide - corundum). For coating brass, a mechanical mixture of particles of copper, zinc and corundum is used in a weight ratio of the components Cu: Zn: Al 2 O 3 = 35%: 35%: 30% grade (C - 01 - 11) (Patent RU 2109842 from 04/27/1998 )
This method is not laborious; does not require large material costs and allows coating on flat and cylindrical surfaces, including local areas, however, coatings obtained in this way have low strength, which does not exceed 78 MPa, while the resulting narrow strip of coating in one pass is associated with high consumption mechanical mixture of particles with low deposition of it on the surface of the product.
The objective of the proposed solution is to improve the quality of the coating, namely increasing the cohesive strength of the coating of brass.
The solution of the problem in the proposed method is to optimize the heat treatment of the applied coating to increase the cohesive strength of the brass coating.
The goal is achieved in that in the proposed method, the coating is carried out by applying a powder material, including pre-heating compressed air to a temperature of 430 ° -470 ° C, feeding it into a supersonic nozzle to form a high-speed air stream into which a mechanical mixture of copper powders is introduced , zinc and aluminum oxide, in the ratio by weight of Cu: Zn: Al 2 O 3 = 35%: 35%: 30% for coating. The coating is applied in several layers with a displacement of the subsequent layer relative to the previous one by 2.5-3.5 mm with a coefficient of overlapping of the area by adjacent layers by 50-55%, followed by volumetric heat treatment of the formed coating at a temperature of 405-415 ° C for 60-180 min
Obtaining a positive effect in the proposed method is achieved due to the fact that in the applied coating based on a mechanical mixture of alumina, copper and zinc oxide powders during its heat treatment, diffusion (interdiffusion) processes take place, as a result of which solid solutions and intermetallic compounds are formed, which have significant differences in mechanical properties. By adjusting the phase composition and the quantitative ratio of structural components due to the time of heat treatment of the coating, optimal mechanical characteristics can be achieved.
A positive result is confirmed by the results of studies of the structure and mechanical testing of the properties of the coating based on a mechanical mixture of copper and zinc particles and is shown in specific examples.
1,Example 1
1.The coating is sprayed according to the proposed method as shown in FIG. one.
Subsequent coating is carried out at an air flow temperature of 450 ° C and a speed of movement of the replaceable nozzle relative to the surface of the sample 10 mm / s at a distance from the cut of the replaceable nozzle to the surface of 10 mm.
Since gas-dynamic spraying technology makes it possible to apply a single layer of metal with a width of not more than 5.5 mm in a single section in the section, in order to obtain a continuous coating of equal thickness, it is necessary to apply layers in parallel with the displacement of the applied metal layer relative to the previously applied.
The coating on the entire surface of the sample of steel 40X is carried out with the displacement of the subsequent applied metal layer relative to the previously applied layer by:
а) 2 мм (коэффициент перекрытия одного слоя другим (К пер.) составляет 62%);a) 2 mm (the overlap coefficient of one layer by another (K lane) is 62%);
55%).b) 3 mm (K lane 55%).
1 Смещение слоев покрытия последующего слоя относительно предыдущего на 2,5-3,5 мм. 1 - стальная основа, 2 - покрытие (1 слой, 2 слой, 3 слой)FIG. 1 Displacement of the coating layers of the subsequent layer relative to the previous one by 2.5-3.5 mm. 1 - steel base, 2 - coating (1 layer, 2 layer, 3 layer)
Metallophysical studies show that:
- химический состав покрытия практически не отличается и в первом случае массовая доля меди и цинка составляет - 62,5% : 35,3%, а во втором - 64,8% : 35,0% (остальное оксид алюминия).- the chemical composition of the coating practically does not differ and in the first case the mass fraction of copper and zinc is - 62.5%: 35.3%, and in the second - 64.8%: 35.0% (the rest is aluminum oxide).
- при смещении сопла на 3 мм в структуре покрытия выявляется медь, массовая доля которого составляет ≈ 58%, цинк в количестве ≈ 23% и твердый раствор на основе цинка (η фазу) в количестве ≈ 19%.- when the nozzle is shifted by 3 mm, copper is detected in the coating structure, the mass fraction of which is ≈ 58%, zinc in the amount of ≈ 23% and the solid solution based on zinc (η phase) in the amount of ≈ 19%.
- при смещении наносимого слоя на 2 мм в структуре выявляется медь, массовая доля которого составляет ≈ 58,0%, цинк в количестве ≈ 9,0%, интерметаллические (электронные) соединения на базе CuZn3 (ε-фаза) и Cu5 Zn8 (γ-фаза), массовая доля которых не превышает 11,4% и 33,0% соответственно.- when the applied layer is shifted by 2 mm, copper is detected in the structure, the mass fraction of which is ≈ 58.0%, zinc in the amount of ≈ 9.0%, intermetallic (electronic) compounds based on CuZn 3 (ε phase) and Cu 5 Zn 8 (γ-phase), the mass fraction of which does not exceed 11.4% and 33.0%, respectively.
Since intermetallic compounds, the mass fraction of which is ≈ 45%, have low ductility and strength, subsequent experiments, studies, and tests were carried out on a coating deposited with an offset nozzle offset by 2.5-3.5 mm (Kper. 55%). In examples 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, the heat treatment time parameter is changed to analyze its effect on the quality of the coating.
The coating process is carried out according to the technology described in example 1 with a removable nozzle offset by 2.5-3.5 mm (K lane 55%) and then the formed coating is subjected to volumetric heat treatment in a furnace at a temperature below the zinc melting temperature (≈ 420 ° C), namely in the range of 405-415 ° C for 3.5, 10, 20, 40, 60 and 180 minutes. Next, the surface of the coating is treated with a cutting tool to obtain a thickness (≈ 1 mm) for conducting an X-ray phase analysis and testing for the cohesive strength of the coating metal by the "ring detachment" method.
1.The results of x-ray phase analysis are presented in table 1.
As can be seen from the presented results, heat treatment due to the diffusion (interdiffusion) of the components leads to a change in the phase composition of the coating, namely the formation of a solid solution of zinc in copper (α - solid solution), which has high strength and ductility and intermetallic compounds : CuZn (β 'phase) and Cu 5 Zn 8 (γ phase), which have low strength and ductility.
2.The results of the test for cohesive strength of the coating metal by the method of "ring detachment" are presented in FIG. 2.
FIG. 2 Dependence of the cohesive strength of coatings based on a mixture of copper and zinc particles on the time of heat treatment.
The cohesive strength of the coating metal obtained by the method of the prototype (example 1) has a value of 78 MPa, which is slightly lower than the cohesion of the coating of copper (88 MPa) and zinc (95 MPa) applied at a similar spraying temperature.
1).Heat treatment of the coating for 3-20 minutes reduces the cohesive strength of the deposited metal layer below the level of the prototype sample (78 MPa). The most significant drop is observed after heat treatment for 3 min (≈ 64.6 MPa) and 20 min (≈ 42.6 MPa), which is caused by the formation of the electronic compound - gamma (γ) phase Cu 5 Zn 8 , the mass fraction of which reaches 44 % and betta (β ') compounds based on CuZn with a maximum content of 28% (Table 1).
An increase in the mechanical properties of the coating is observed with an increase in the exposure time to 40 min due to a decrease in the content of electronic compounds and an increase in the content of zinc solid solution in copper (Table 1, Fig. 2). In this heat treatment mode, the mass fraction of copper and α - solid solution exceeds the mass fraction of intermetallic compounds.
Heat treatment of a coating based on copper and zinc particles with a holding time of 60 minutes allows us to obtain a metal layer whose cohesive strength is 18% (92 MPa) higher than the initial cohesive strength of the reference sample (78 MPa) (example 1). In this heat treatment mode, the mass fraction of copper and α - solid solution exceeds the mass fraction of intermetallic compounds by almost two times, which leads to an increase in the cohesion of the coating.
A further increase in the heat treatment time to 180 min leads to a slight increase in the cohesion of the applied coating metal layer.
The coating according to the proposed method allows to increase the adhesive strength of the copper-zinc coating by 18% compared with the prototype due to changes in the structure of the coating during layer-by-layer application with a shift of the applied metal layer relative to previously deposited by 2.5-3.5 mm and subsequent heat treatment in temperature range 405-415 ° C and a time of 60-180 minutes
The use of the method in this invention improves the quality and service life of steel parts with a brass coating.
