Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to a consumer goods container comprising one or more consumer goods wrapped in a wrapper. The present invention finds particular application as a pack of smoking articles, such as cigarettes.

Smoking articles, such as cigarettes and cigars, are typically packaged in rigid hinged lid containers having a box and a lid connected to the box by a hinge line extending across the back wall of the container. Such hinged lid containers are typically made from monolithic laminated cardboard blanks. In use, the lid is rotated around the hinge line to open the container and thus access the package of smoking articles placed in the box.

A package of smoking articles placed in a box is usually wrapped in an inner wrapper of metallized paper, metal foil, or other flexible sheet material. The specified inner wrapper is usually a rectangular sheet of material folded around a package of smoking articles and then closed by folding at the upper and lower ends, for example, using folding like an envelope. The inner wrapper in some well-known containers of smoking articles and other consumer goods can be used to place information for the consumer on it. For example, it is known to emboss or print branded information on some internal wrappers.

To access the package of smoking products inside the inner wrapper, when the container with the hinged lid is first opened, the consumer can simply straighten the upper part of the inner wrapper to open the smoking articles. Alternatively, some inner wraps are equipped with a tear-off top that the consumer can remove and discard to access smoking articles. However, the tear-off portion of such an inner wrapper is usually relatively small in size, with a relatively primitive shape and appearance. Therefore, such tear-off reed parts are currently not widely used, in addition to their main function, which is to provide the consumer with access to the contents of the container.

It would be desirable to create a new wrapper configuration for a wrapped package of consumer goods, such as smoking articles, in which the wrapper would be configured to provide improved means for communicating with the consumer.

According to the present invention, there is provided a consumer goods container comprising a housing and one or more consumer goods wrapped in a wrapper and housed inside the housing, the wrapper comprising a plurality of intersecting lines of reduced strength that together form a plurality of interconnected tear-off portions of the wrapper.

In the context of this document, the term “tear-off section” refers to a section of a wrapper that can be torn off from the rest of the wrapper and removed from the container to open or further open sections of one or more consumer goods within the enclosure.

Thanks to the indicated lines of reduced strength, the container user is able to remove as large or as small a portion of the wrapper as he wishes to open various quantities of consumer goods in the container. In addition, due to the indicated lines of reduced strength, the user is able to remove a portion of the wrapper having the desired shape, so that the removable part and / or the remaining part of the wrapper has an attractive appearance, or in order to provide access to the goods in the container through the desired wrapper area.

The container user can remove one or more sections of the wrapper by dividing the wrapper along the lines of reduced strength, for example by tearing or cutting. By properly selecting lines of reduced strength, the user can specify the size and shape of the deleted area.

Preferably, said plurality of intersecting lines of reduced strength comprises a first line of reduced strength and a second line of reduced strength, the first line of reduced strength having a tensile strength less than the tensile strength of the second line of reduced strength. This may facilitate the preferred removal of certain tear-off reed portions over other sites. For example, a consumer can pull the wrapper so that said first line of reduced strength becomes the first line of reduced strength along which a break occurs in the wrapper, and thus it is possible for the consumer to remove only the first reed portion first, leaving one or more others reed plots for subsequent removal. Thus, the consumer has the ability to open and access only those consumer goods that he would like to access initially, leaving the remaining consumer goods wrapped in a wrapper for future use. Due to this, for other consumer goods wrapped in a wrapper, it is possible to keep them fresher for a longer time.

Preferably, said plurality of interconnected tear-off sections of the wrapper comprises a first tear-off reed section that is configured to open no more than three consumer goods on a front wall of the housing when said first tear-off reed section is torn away from the wrapper; even more preferably, the first tear-off reed section is configured to open no more than one consumer product on the front wall of the housing when said first tear-off reed section is torn from the wrapper. In this way, it can be ensured that other consumer products in the housing can remain wrapped until the consumer is ready to access them.

These intersecting lines of reduced strength are provided at least on that part of the wrapper that is open when the container is open. In some cases, lines of reduced strength run throughout the wrapper.

In some embodiments, the housing comprises a box portion and a lid portion extending from the box portion along the hinge line across the rear wall of the housing, which lid portion is movable between an open position and a closed position in which the front wall of the lid portion and the front wall of the box portion together form the front wall of the housing opposite to the rear wall of the housing.

In some embodiments, the plurality of intersecting lines of reduced strength comprises a first plurality of substantially parallel lines of reduced strength spaced apart from each other, each of which extends in a first direction, and a second set of spaced apart from each other substantially parallel lines of reduced strength, each of which runs in the second direction. In such embodiments, the smallest angle between the first direction and the second direction is preferably from 45 degrees to 90 degrees.

In some embodiments of the present invention, the housing further comprises an upper wall of the housing extending between the rear wall and the front wall of the lid, and a lower wall of the housing opposite the upper wall and extending between the rear wall and the front wall of the box, the longitudinal direction being the direction between the upper wall of the housing and the lower wall of the housing, the specified set of intersecting lines of reduced strength is located under the front wall of the housing, and the specified first and / or second The other direction forms an indirect angle with the indicated longitudinal direction.

Lines of reduced strength may be, for example, perforations or cuts in the wrapper. Preferably, each line of reduced strength contains a perforation line. Perforation lines can be wrapped using well-known devices and technologies. The type of perforation can vary in various ways to control the appearance of the lines of reduced strength or the force required to break the wrapper along these lines of reduced strength. If necessary, the shape, size and gaps between the slots forming the perforation lines can also vary.

The wrapper may be made of any suitable flexible material, including, but not limited to, metal foil, laminate of metal foil and paper, metallized paper, metallized polymer film, polymer film, and paper. The tear-off reed part may carry information, a decorative pattern or other signs, including but not limited to manufacturer or brand logos, trademarks, slogans and other consumer information, pictures and decorative drawings. These characters may be applied by printing, stamping, stamping or other means.

The container may be made of any suitable material, including, but not limited to, various types of cardboard, plastic, metal, or combinations thereof.

Said one or more consumer products may be a plurality of cigarettes or other smoking articles.

As used herein, the terms “front,” “back,” “side,” “top,” “bottom,” “top,” “bottom,” “above,” and “rear” refer to a container in its normal vertical position; in the case of a pack of cigarettes, the cigarettes in the pack in this position are usually arranged vertically.

The container may be a pack with a hinged lid for cigarettes or other smoking articles. Hinged cigarette packs are well known. A hinged lid pack comprises a pack body having opposite front and rear walls connected to each other by opposing side walls to form a pack with a generally rectangular or substantially rectangular cross section. The lid also has opposite front and rear walls connected to each other by opposing side walls extending from the back wall of the package body and pivotally connected to this wall, and an internal frame located inside the package body. The specified inner frame is located behind the front wall of the package body and passes over the upper edge of the front wall; the lid closes the lower front edge of the lid on the upper frame, closing with the upper front edge of the pack case.

A hinged lid pack is typically formed of a cardboard blank folded around a package of smoking articles wrapped in a wrapper or inner wrapping sheet of sheet material such as metal foil or a laminate of metal foil and paper. The wrapper is folded around the back, bottom and front sides of the package of smoking articles and around the sides of this package and closed on top of the package by folding like an envelope. A pack of cigarettes or other smoking articles typically contains ten or twenty smoking articles. Smoking articles can be arranged in various configurations, depending on the total number of smoking articles. For example, smoking articles may be arranged in one row of five, six, seven, eight, nine, or ten pieces. Alternatively, smoking articles may be arranged in two or more rows. Smoking articles in one row may be located partially between smoking articles in an adjacent row. These two or more rows may contain the same number of smoking articles. For example, smoking articles may be arranged in the following arrangements: two rows of five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten pieces; three rows of five or seven pieces; or four rows of four, five or six pieces. Alternatively, two or more rows may include at least two rows containing a different number of smoking articles. For example, smoking articles can be arranged in the following layouts: a row of five pieces and a row of six pieces (5-6); a row of six pieces and a row of seven pieces (6-7); a row of seven pieces and a row of eight pieces (7-8); the middle row of five pieces and two outer rows of six pieces (6-5-6); the middle row of five pieces and two outer rows of seven pieces (7-5-7); the middle row of six pieces and two outer rows of five pieces (5-6-5); the middle row of six pieces and two outer rows of seven pieces (7-6-7); the middle row of seven pieces and two outer rows of six pieces (6-7-6); the middle row of nine pieces and two outer rows of eight pieces (8-9-8); or the middle row of six pieces with one outer row of five pieces and one outer row of seven pieces (5-6-7). Typically, the outer rows of the bag are adjacent to the front and rear walls of the container, respectively.

The smoking article containers of the present invention can store smoking articles of the same type or brand or of various types or brands. The smoking articles in the container may be smoking articles without a filter and / or smoking articles with a filter. Smoking articles may have the same or different lengths (e.g., from about 40 mm to about 180 mm) and the same or different diameters (e.g., from about 4 mm to about 9 mm). In addition, smoking articles may differ in taste intensity, puff resistance, and total particle delivery. Preferably, the dimensions of the wrapped bags and containers are adapted to the length and diameter of the smoking articles and to the location of the smoking articles. Typically, the external dimensions of the container exceed the dimensions of the wrapped bag or packages of smoking articles placed inside the container by a value of from about 0.5 mm to about 5 mm.

Preferably, the container according to the present invention has a height of from about 60 mm (millimeters) to about 150 mm, more preferably a height of from about 70 mm to about 125 mm, the height being measured from the bottom wall to the top wall of the container. In some embodiments, the containers of the present invention have a width of about 12 mm to about 150 mm, more preferably a width of about 70 mm to about 125 mm, the width being measured from one side wall to the other side wall of the container.

Preferably, the containers of the present invention have a depth of from about 6 mm to about 150 mm, more preferably a depth of from about 12 mm to about 25 mm, the depth being measured from the front wall to the back wall of the container (including the hinge between the box and the lid).

Preferably, the ratio of container height to container depth is from about 0.3: 1 to about 10: 1, more preferably from about 2: 1 to about 8: 1, most preferably from about 3: 1 to 5: 1.

Preferably, the ratio of container width to container depth is from about 0.3: 1 to about 10: 1, more preferably from about 2: 1 to about 8: 1, most preferably from about 2: 1 to 3: 1.

Preferably, the ratio of the height of the back wall of the lid to the height of the back wall of the box is from about 0 (the lid is pivotally mounted on the upper edge of the container) to about 1: 1, more preferably from about 1: 5 to about 1:10, most preferably from about 1: 6 to about 1: 8.

Preferably, the ratio of the height of the front wall of the lid to the height of the front wall of the box is from about 0 (the lid forms the entire front surface of the container) to about 1:10, more preferably from about 1: 1 to about 1: 5, most preferably from about 1 : 2 to about 1: 3.

If the wrapped bag contains smoking articles, the container may further comprise compartments for waste (e.g., ash or cigarette butts) or other consumer goods, e.g. matches, lighters, quenchers, breath fresheners, or electronic devices. These other consumer products may be attached to the outside of the container, located inside the container along with a pack of smoking products, located in a separate compartment of the container, or combinations of the above may be possible.

The outer surfaces of the containers of the present invention may be subjected to printing, embossing, blind embossing or otherwise decorated with the manufacturer’s or brand’s logos, trademarks, slogans and other consumer information and marks.

After filling, the containers of the present invention can be typically wrapped in shrink film or otherwise wrapped externally in a transparent polymer film, for example, high or low density polyethylene, polypropylene, oriented polypropylene, polyvinylidene chloride, cellulose film, or combinations of the above. In the event that the containers of the present invention are wrapped externally, the outer wrapper may comprise one or more tear-off tapes. In addition, images, consumer information, or other data may be printed on the outer wrapper.

In FIG. 1a, 1b and 1c show an embodiment of the present invention in the form of a cigarette pack 10a, 10b, 10c with a hinge cap comprising a pack body 12, to which along the back (as seen in the drawings) wall and inner frame 16 placed inside the pack case 12, cover 14 is pivotally attached. Inside the pack is a packet of cigarettes 18 wrapped in an inner wrapper 20.

The inner wrapper 20 of the container according to this embodiment of the present invention has a pattern in the form of intersecting perforated or other lines of reduced strength at least in that part of the inner wrapper that is open with the lid 14 open; as a rule, it is convenient when the perforation lines extend over the entire inner wrapper 20. In this embodiment, the perforation lines 22 are arranged in the form of a rectangular grid at a distance of 10 mm from each other. It should be borne in mind that other patterns of intersecting lines can also be used. Perforated or other lines of reduced strength form tear-off sections 24 of the wrapper. Perforated or other lines of reduced strength provide for the user of the pack the ability to remove part 26 of the inner wrapper 20, having a shape and size defined by the user. The removable portion 26 of the inner wrapper will consist of one or more tear-off sections 24.

When the pack 10 is first opened, after removing the outer wrapper (not shown), the inner wrapper 20 can be removed by tearing along the perforation lines 22, forming a removable portion of the inner wrapper 26, consisting of one or more tear-off sections 24. By properly selecting the perforation lines, the user can set the size and shape of the removed portion 26 of the inner wrapper. If only a relatively small portion of the open inner wrapper is removed, for example, a portion located only on one side of the open inner wrapper, then additional sections of the inner wrapper can be removed later by tearing along other, not previously broken, perforation lines.

In FIG. 1a shows a bundle 10a in which the top of the envelope 20 folded like an envelope is opened by pulling, and this inner wrapper 20 is torn along the perforation lines 22 so that a serrated top edge 28 is left in the inner wrapper remaining in the bundle. One edge is removed the inner wrapper portion 26a has a corresponding gear shape.

In FIG. 1b shows a bundle 10b in which an envelope-shaped top of the inner wrapper 20 is opened by pulling and torn to tear off the inner wrapper portion 26b from the open portion of the inner wrapper along perforation lines 22 extending from one to the other side of the bundle at an angle of about 45 °, so that in the inner wrapper remaining in the bundle, the top edge 28b is left in the form of an asymmetric inverted letter V.

In FIG. 2c shows a bundle 10b in which the envelope-shaped top of the inner wrapper 20 is opened by pulling and torn on one side to tear off the portion 26c from the open portion of the inner wrapper along the perforation lines 22 extending downward from each side at an angle of about 45 °, that in the inner wrapper remaining in the bundle, the upper edge 28 is in the form of the letter V.

By properly selecting the perforation lines for tearing, the user can easily specify the shape and dimensions of the tearing portion 24 of the inner wrapper 20 and, therefore, the shape of the inner wrapper, in particular the shape of the top edge 28a, 28b, 28c of the inner wrapper that remains in the bundle.

Claims (17)

1. A container for consumer goods containing: housing; and one or more consumer goods wrapped in a wrapper and placed inside the housing, the wrapper containing many intersecting lines of reduced strength, forming many interconnected detachable sections of the wrapper. 2. The container according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of intersecting lines comprises a first line of reduced strength and a second line of reduced strength, wherein the first line of reduced strength has a tensile strength less than the tensile strength of a second line of reduced strength. 3. The container according to claim 1 or 2, in which the plurality of interconnected detachable sections of the wrapper comprises a first detachable reed section configured to open no more than three consumer goods on the front wall of the housing while separating the first detachable reed section from the wrapper. 4. The container according to claim 3, in which the first detachable reed section is configured to open no more than one consumer product on the front wall of the housing while separating the first detachable reed section from the wrapper. 5. A container according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the plurality of intersecting lines of reduced strength comprises a first plurality of substantially parallel parallel lines of reduced strength extending in a first direction, and a second plurality of substantially parallel lines spaced apart from each other reduced strength passing in the second direction. 6. The container according to claim 5, in which the smallest angle between the first direction and the second direction is from 45 degrees to 90 degrees. 7. The container according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, in which the housing further comprises: the upper wall of the housing passing between the rear wall and the front wall of the cover; and a lower wall of the housing opposite the upper wall and extending between the rear wall and the front wall of the box, the longitudinal direction extending between the upper wall of the housing and the lower wall of the housing; however, many intersecting lines of reduced strength are located under the front wall of the housing, and at least one of the first and second directions passes at an indirect angle relative to the longitudinal direction. 8. The container according to claim 7, in which the box part comprises a front wall of the box having an upper edge forming an edge of an opening configured to extract consumer goods through it from the container when the lid is in the open position, the distance between the upper edge of the front wall of the box and a line of reduced strength forming a detachable reed portion of the wrapper is at least 10 millimeters. 9. A container according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, in which one or more detachable reed portions of the wrapper have one or more indicating elements on its surface. 10. The container according to claim 9, in which the first indicating element is placed on the first detachable reed section, and the second indicating element is placed on the second detachable reed section, the first indicating element being different from the second indicating element. 11. The container according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, in which the housing comprises a box part and a lid part extending from the box part along the hinge line across the rear wall of the housing, the lid part being movable between an open position and a closed position in which the front wall of the lid the parts and the front wall of the boxed part together form the front wall of the housing opposite to the rear wall of the housing. 12. A container according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, in which one or more of the consumer goods are a plurality of smoking articles.
