The invention of an assault machine gun relates to small arms and is intended for tactical combat operations.
Basoff1.livejournal.com). ERMAK. Of all the possible tactical military operations, the most difficult is the assault on the entrenched enemy. It is in this case that the advancing party suffers the greatest losses in manpower, as it is clearly visible and shot by the enemy with covered armored vehicles and engineering structures. To solve combat missions to defeat the entrenched enemy, special assault units were created. Their combat training is carried out according to certain methods. However, special small arms, which would be most effective for solving such problems, have not been created. Currently, small arms are used for general purposes. The specifics of the assault units is the rapid movement towards the entrenched enemy, overcoming tens and hundreds of meters of open area, and at the same time conducting intense targeted fire in order to defeat the enemy and eliminate return fire in their direction. Such tactical military operations highlight the following requirements for small arms of assault units: increased stock of ammunition; the ability to conduct targeted shooting in motion; ease of handling and carrying small arms. The solution to this problem is possible due to a more rational arrangement of small arms on the shooter's body. The closest prototype to the proposed invention is the "Scorpio" -development of the company "FRONT - tactical systems" (see Basoff1.livejournal.com). The main disadvantage of the Scorpion system is a sleeve with cartridges in a tape more than 1.5 meters long, connecting the box-container behind the machine gunner’s back with the machine gun in front of him. When moving around the battlefield, the lateral load on the side of the sleeve imposes certain restrictions on the mobility of the machine gunner. In any shooting without support, the vibration from a heavy long sleeve is superimposed on the machine gun and the machine gunner’s hands, which ultimately reduces the accuracy of the shooting. A partial solution to this problem is possible due to the location of the machine gun on the machine gunner’s shoulder, similar to how Robinson Russell first applied it (see ERMAK. Russell Robinson’s amazing weapon). With this design, the machine gun is held by the pistol grip extended far ahead and the additional front grip. At the same time, the tape with cartridges is not fed neatly with protection, but the arrow dangles behind the back like a "tail". In the next modification of the 1987 M82A2, also designed for shooting from the shoulder, a magazine with a limited number of rounds is carried forward of the shoulder arrow. All previous developments of machine guns intended for shooting from the shoulder turned out to be uncomfortable, unpopular and their production was discontinued. A distinctive feature of the invention is the fastening of the machine gun on the arrow arrow in the upper part of the shoulder strap of the container box (right belt for the right-handed person or left-handed for the left-handed person), which makes it possible to conduct targeted shooting with one hand not only in a stationary state, but also in motion. Such a need often arises among fighters of assault units when the second arm is damaged or busy. Especially often, such situations arise in mountain shooters and special forces descending on a rope from a cliff or multi-story building. The shooter has the opportunity to control the ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile with one hand, and conduct aimed fire at the enemy with the other hand. With this arrangement of the machine gun, the cartridges in the large-capacity tape are moved from the container box along the short sleeve to the tape drive mechanism of the machine gun behind the shooter’s back, which is a significant distinguishing feature from the Scorpion system. By removing the burden of a light machine gun from the shooter's hands, we achieve a more convenient aimed fire. Based on the specific combat situation, the machine gunner is able to quickly release his hand (s) by holding the attached machine gun to the shoulder straps of the container box in front, or behind the back. There is the possibility of a quick transfer of the machine gun by reverse actions from traveling to combat position.
Thus, due to the distribution of the severity of the magazine and the machine gun in the most convenient way on the machine gunner’s body, it is possible to achieve a more convenient combat use of the machine gun and ultimately achieve effective combat missions by assault units in tactical combat.
