Abstract
Description
The proposed device relates to reconstructive medicine.
In the diagnosis of diseases of the musculoskeletal system of a person, the study of passive movements in the joints is of great importance. In degenerative, dystrophic, inflammatory and other diseases, various structures of both the joint and the muscles surrounding the joint, fascia, tendons and ligaments are affected to varying degrees. In this regard, in the study of passive movements, a different degree of resistance to this movement arises from the above structures. The degree of resistance to passive movement determines the force or moment of force that must be applied to overcome resistance to movement. The proposed device is aimed at measuring the resistance of passive movement by measuring the force applied to the segments of the joint. By the degree of resistance to passive movement in the joint, it is possible to judge violations in various structures and conduct differential diagnosis of various diseases and, based on it, choose the most effective method of rehabilitation medicine. With increased resistance to passive movements, the most effective technique is to stretch the affected periarticular tissues of the patient. In case of damage to various parts of the body, various muscle groups, various parts of the spine, the application of various tensile forces is required, the control of which will provide increased efficiency of this procedure.
When searching for devices designed to determine resistance to passive movement in joints, no analogues were found. Therefore, the proposed device is assigned to auxiliary devices for conducting recovery procedures.
The proposed device is implemented using widely used force sensors, which are used in many industries, but were not used to measure resistance to passive movements in human joints.
1.The proposed device is shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 shows:
1 - force sensor, 2 - internal hard base, 3 - external hard base, 4 - soft layer of the external base, 5 - soft layer of the internal base, 6 - controller with analog-to-digital converter and decimal code decoder, 7 - digital indicator.
The device is used as follows: The soft layer of the
Due to the availability of objective information about the preset force effects on the articular ends, the described device will find especially wide application in the training of novice specialists in the field of restorative medicine, training of personnel in massage, gymnastics, as well as in the field of chiropractic. The accumulation of information on the resistance of passive movements in lesions of various parts of the spine, joints, individual muscles and muscle groups will allow the specialist to create tables containing information about the required loads for these injuries. These tables will allow novice specialists to provide such therapeutic loads that do not injure the patient, but rather contribute to recovery.
This device is quite simple to implement and therefore can be widely used not only in restorative medicine, but also in gymnastic and sports halls, in fitness centers and other organizations.
