Abstract
Description
The invention relates to powder technology, and in particular to methods for producing products from carbon-based powder compositions, in particular brushes of electric machines, contact inserts of current collectors for urban and railway transport and other electrical products.
2.The so-called “standard” method for producing electrical products is known (A. Trofimov. Contact inserts of trolleybus current collectors, - M., Higher School, 1966, p. 115). The method includes preparing a mixture of graphite and a binder, subsequent pressing from it products in a mold heated to 160-170 ° C. The mixture is fed into the mold immediately after preparation, pressing is carried out with a specific pressure of 350 kg / cm 2 .
The disadvantage of this method is the low density of the obtained compacts and, as a consequence, their reduced physical and mechanical properties.
The closest in technical essence and the achieved effect to the attached is a method of manufacturing electric carbon products - brushes, contact inserts for electric vehicles, including grinding graphite, mixing graphite particles with novolac phenol-formaldehyde resin at a temperature of 25-35 ° C below the melting temperature of the resin for 20-30 minutes (Patent for the invention of the Russian Federation No. 2533893, Method for the manufacture of sliding contacts from carbon-based powder compositions, IPC B22F 3/02, from 11.27.2014). Immediately after mixing, the still heated powder composition (mixture) is fed into a mold heated to about 160 ° C. and pressed. The established parameters of temperature and grinding time can increase the density of products and improve their physical and mechanical properties.
Температура превращения твердых частиц новолачной смолы в жидкость находится в диапазоне 90-130°С (http:// polycomposite. ru/fenolformaldegidnaya smola/php).The disadvantage of this method is the adhesion of the powder composition to the walls of the matrix, which disrupts the pressing process and impairs the physical and mechanical properties of the obtained products. After grinding and mixing graphite and resin, the prepared composition consists of particles of graphite and solid particles of resin. When it is fed into a mold heated to 160-170 ° C, the solid particles of the resin turn into a liquid, which adheres to the walls of the matrix. The temperature of transformation of solid particles of novolac resin into a liquid is in the range of 90-130 ° C (http: // polycomposite. Ru / fenolformaldegidnaya smola / php).
The prepared composition after mixing has a temperature of from 70 to 90 ° C. At 70 ° C, it begins the process of polymerization of novolac resin by thermal initiation (http: // polycomposite. Ru / poluchenie polymerov. Php). The resin particles are coated with a thin layer of polymer, which prevents the resin particles from immediately converting into liquid upon contact with the heated matrix. It should be noted that the polymerization reaction proceeds slowly, especially at such low temperatures as 70-90 ° C. The supply of the prepared composition immediately after preparation does not ensure the complete course of the polymerization process, which causes the immediate conversion of resin particles into liquid upon contact with the matrix and its adhesion to the matrix walls.
A technical problem is the process of preparing a carbon-based powder composition for pressing high-density electrical products.
The technical result of the alleged invention is to eliminate the sticking of liquid resin on the walls of the matrix.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of producing electrical products from carbon-based powder compositions, which includes preparing a powder composition by grinding graphite and resin powder, followed by mixing and further pressing it, according to the proposed solution, the prepared composition is held for 4 ÷ 6 hours before pressing at a temperature of 70 ÷ 90 ° C.
The fact that the prepared powder composition is kept after mixing the claimed amount of time at a certain temperature before pressing, will make it possible to obtain a polymer layer of several tens microns on solid particles of novolac resin, which will prevent their immediate transformation into liquid upon contact with the heated mold walls. This will eliminate the sticking of liquid resin onto the matrix walls.
The exposure of the composition after mixing for less than 4 hours and a temperature of less than 70 ° C will not allow to obtain a sufficient polymer layer on solid particles of novolac resin, protecting them from sticking to the matrix walls. Exposure of the composition before pressing for more than 6 hours at a temperature of more than 90 ° C will lead to a decrease in productivity.
According to the proposed method, inserts of current collectors of trolley buses 86 × 27 × 18 mm in size were obtained. From the waste from the production of electrodes of the Chelyabinsk electrode plant by grinding them, graphite was obtained in accordance with TU 1916-1-9-71-2000. A 14% novolac phenol-formaldehyde resin was also ground according to TU U20.1-32250229-006-2014. Then the components were mixed and before pressing the resulting composition was kept at a temperature of 80 ° C for 5 hours. With further pressing of the composition, sticking of the liquid resin was not observed.
The proposed method will find application in the manufacture of electrical products from powder compositions based on carbon, containing mainly novolac formaldehyde resin.
