Abstract
Description
The invention relates to ice research and ice engineering and can be used in ice research, in particular in areas of hydrocarbon production on the shelf of freezing seas.
A ham is a stationary hummock, formed or drifted in shallow water and sitting on the ground. The task of studying the internal structure of ice is to assess the possible effects of these ice formations on various offshore structures.
Known remote ice research methods, such as radar and sonar, cannot provide reliable data on the internal structure of hummocks and hammers due to interference when probing heterogeneous ice. For such studies, drilling of wells in ice is usually carried out with or without coring.
There is a method of determining the location of the boundary of ice and soil when drilling stamukha hot water [1, 2]. During drilling, melt water temperature is measured near the bottom. The border of ice and soil relative to the ice surface is located at a depth at which a sharp change in the temperature of the water at the bottom and a decrease in the drilling speed until the thermal drill stops completely. The advantage of this method is the reliability of determining the location of the border of ice and soil. The disadvantage is the ambiguity when drilling the granite with cooled working water due to the large distance of the water heater from the object of study or for other reasons.
The aim of the present invention is to obtain during water drilling objective information for determining the location of the boundary of ice and soil.
The specified goal is achieved by the following actions:
1. In the process of thermal drilling-melting ice, the drilling speed and transparency of melt water are recorded on a computer. As soon as the thermal drill passes through the ice into the soil, a suspension of water and soil or silt appears in the well, and its transparency decreases sharply, even if the thermal drill continues to sink, eroding the soil.
2. During subsequent processing of these data on a computer, the dependence of the drilling speed on the transparency of melt water is compared. The depth at which there is a decrease in the transparency of melt water, corresponding to the transition of the drill from ice to soil, is defined as the depth of the location of the boundary between ice and soil.
The proposed method provides a large amount of necessary objective information about the structure of the gangs. The economic effect of using the proposed method consists in saving time of highly qualified specialists in the field. Given the increased interest in the structure of hummock formations in hydrocarbon production areas on the shelves of freezing seas, this proposal can be considered relevant.
