Abstract
Description
The invention relates to household items, to items for repair, for example, shoes.
A.M. It is known that an awl for sewing in an uncomfortable place, called a boot hook (see Fig. 5.2 and 5.3 on page 54 in the book: The Handbook of a Home Craftsman, author - comp. AM Gorbov. M.: ACT; Kiev: NKP, 2008, 318 p.). This book indicates that the boot hook can be made from a thick needle (for example, if you break one jumper from the two jumpers that make up the eyelet into which the thread is inserted during normal sewing). The boot hook is inserted into the hole (which is previously done with a sharp awl). The boot hook is passed through the sewn parts so that on the other (invisible) side, the boot hook hook is so wide that you can hook the thread that serves to staple this hook and take out part of this thread in the form of a loop on the visible side of the sewn parts.
The matching features of this boot hook and the claimed invention are as follows. These devices are used for stitching in inconvenient places. Both devices are similar to an ordinary awl and both have devices at the end that allow stitching in inconvenient places.
The disadvantages of this boot hook are as follows. To ensure the possibility of manufacturing the hook itself, the boot hook must be of sufficient thickness; it cannot be used in cases where large diameter holes cannot be made in stitched parts. In addition, in some cases, the stitching of parts begins in a convenient place in the usual way, i.e. when the thread is threaded into the eye of a regular needle. Using an ordinary awl, holes are made. Then a needle is threaded into these holes: from top to bottom, then from bottom to top, etc. Then they approach the “inconvenient place”, where it is difficult to carry out the usual sewing procedure. For example, it is difficult to get into the intended hole with a needle because the end of the needle is not visible.
The usual awl is known (see the figure on page 86 in the book: Ettlinger S. Encyclopedia of repair: modern materials, plumbing, tools. Translated from English by Yu. Suslov. M.: ACT: Astrel, 2007, 692 pp.) . This awl is accepted as a prototype. The following words are given in this book on page 86. "Description. The tool, similar to a thick needle, consists of a pointed rod with a wooden handle, about 10 cm long. ” (The length of the awl may be different, the handle of the awl may be, for example, plastic). The part of the rod adjacent to the sharp end of the awl has a conical shape.
The matching features of this awl and the claimed invention are as follows. The awl has a handle in which the rod is fixed. The portion of the rod adjacent to the end of the rod has a conical shape.
The disadvantages of this awl are as follows. If, with the help of this awl, to pierce a hole in the stitched parts, and then try to get into the hole from the “invisible” side with a needle, it is difficult to get a needle into this hole. This job becomes even more tedious if on the invisible side the part is covered with fur or similar material. If you stick this awl into the hole and try to slowly pull it out, while trying to push the needle into the sharp edge of the awl pin or trying to “push” the needle by touching the tip of the needle to the side of the pointed part of the awl, this work is also tedious and often requires several attempts to achieving the goal (ie, for threading the needle through the intended hole on the "invisible" side of the stitched parts).
The objective of the invention is to facilitate the process of threading the needle through the intended hole on the "invisible" side of stitched parts.
The essence of the invention is to facilitate the process of threading the needle through the intended hole from the "invisible" side of the stitched parts. This is achieved by the fact that the inventive awl has not a sharp, but a blunt end of the rod; moreover, the end of the rod is not just blunt, but has a hole. First, with an ordinary awl with a sharp end of the rod, a hole is pierced in the right place of the stitched parts. Then the claimed awl is taken, it is inserted into this hole so that its end part passes through the stitched parts. With one hand they hold this awl, with the other hand the needle tip rests in the hole in the end part of the claimed awl. Then the claimed awl is smoothly removed, all the time pushing it with the tip of the needle resting against this hole.
Thus, the needle will follow the declared awl, passing through the intended hole. Then, with a regular sharp awl, a hole is pierced in the stitched parts. The awl is removed from the hole; a needle with a thread is inserted into this hole (from the "visible" side) and the needle is pulled through this hole. The needle is on the invisible side. Then, with an ordinary sharp awl, a hole is pierced in the stitched parts. The awl is removed from the hole, and the inventive awl is inserted into the hole, the tip of the needle is pressed into the hole on the end part of the inventive awl and the process described above is repeated.
