Материал вкладыша способен противостоять гниению в течение срока от посадки рассады в горшочек и до ее высадки в грунт. Лучше всего в качестве материала для вкладыша подходит хлопчатобумажное или льняное полотно, потому что такое полотно биоразлагаемое и не засоряет почву.
