Abstract
Description
The invention relates to cermets, namely to cermet compositions for the manufacture of parts exposed to erosion and corrosion at high temperature.
Cermets, ceramic-metal, cermet materials, are a heterogeneous composition of one or more ceramic phases with metals or alloys, with a relatively low mutual solubility of the phases. Cermets combine the properties of ceramics (high hardness and wear resistance, refractoriness, heat resistance, etc.) and metals (thermal conductivity, ductility), i.e. possess a set of properties that integrates the characteristics of several components.
By the nature of the ceramic component, cermets are divided into:
(Al2O3, Cr2O3, SiO2, ZrO2),oxide (Al 2 O 3 , Cr 2 O 3 , SiO 2 , ZrO 2 ),
(SiC, Cr3C2, TiC),carbide (SiC, Cr 3 C 2 , TiC),
(TiN),nitride (TiN),
(Cr2B2, TiB2, ZrB2),boride (Cr 2 B 2 , TiB 2 , ZrB 2 ),
керметы на основе силицидов (MoSi) и других тугоплавких соединений и др.silicides based on silicides (MoSi) and other refractory compounds, etc.
By application - heat-resistant, wear-resistant, highly refractory, corrosion-resistant, etc.
The microstructure of cermets can be:
- керамическую матрицу, внутри которой расположены металлические включения;- a ceramic matrix, inside of which metal inclusions are located;
- металлическую матрицу с изолированными между собой керамическими частицами;- a metal matrix with ceramic particles isolated among themselves;
- два равноправных каркаса из металла и керамики;- two peer frames made of metal and ceramic;
A statistical mixture of ceramic and metal particles.
One of the main problems in the creation of cermets is the difficulty of combining two or more dissimilar phases. Metal - oxide systems are usually characterized by weak binding and sweating (leakage) of metal from the composition during sintering, which proceeds with the formation of a liquid phase. It is generally accepted that the condition for the formation of a strong bond between the cementing metal and the nonmetallic phase is mutual complete or partial solubility. To improve bonding, some metalloid, such as nitride, is added to the material: the metal is more readily bound to metalloids than to oxides. In addition, mutual solubility can also be changed in order to increase chemical bonding under the influence of an appropriate atmosphere using certain proportions of the starting components.
Known cermet composition adopted for the prototype (RF Application No. 2005136133/02, C22C 29/00, 06/27/2006), expressed by the formula (PQ) (RS) X, comprising a ceramic phase (PQ), a binder phase (RS) and X. The binder phase contains a base metal R selected from the group of Fe, Ni, Co, Mn and mixtures thereof, and a doping metal S comprising at least 12 wt.% Cr and selected from Si, Ti, Al, Nb, Mo and mixtures thereof . X is at least one member selected from the group consisting of an oxide dispersoid, an intermetallic compound and a derivative of the compound. The ceramic phase is distributed in the binder phase in the form of particles with a diameter in the range of about 0.5 to 3000 μm, and X is distributed in the binder phase in the form of particles in the size range from about 1 nm to 400 nm.
The content of the ceramic phase (PQ) in the cermet composition is in the range from about 55 to 95 vol.% Based on the volume of the cermet.
One of the disadvantages of the cermet composition mentioned is the very large percentage of the cermet phase, which leads to complex technological operations to prevent cracking in the sintering operations associated with additional time and technological costs.
The objective of the invention is to provide a cermet composition devoid of this drawback.
The problem is solved in that in the cermet composition expressed by the formula (PQ) (RS), including the binder phase (RS) and the ceramic phase (PQ) distributed therein as particles, the binder phase includes an alloying metal S selected from Si, Cr, Ti, Al, Nb, Mo and mixtures thereof, and the ceramic phase (PQ) is a mixture of 51 wt.% ZrO 2 - 49 wt.% TiO and is distributed in the binder phase in the form of particles in an amount of 45-52 vol.% Calculated on the volume of cermet composition.
