Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of fiber-optic communication technology and can be used in the reconstruction of long fiber-optic transmission lines to increase their throughput.
A device [1, 2] is known for compensating dispersion of optical fibers, including a Bragg fiber with a variable period for dispersion compensation, an optical circulator in which the first output is connected to an incoming optical fiber of the transmission line, the second output is connected to a Bragg fiber with a variable period for compensation dispersion, and the third exit to the outgoing optical fiber transmission line. This device allows to reduce the total chromatic dispersion of the fiber optic transmission line as a whole. However, due to the action of non-linearity factors, in particular, the four-wave mixing effect characteristic of systems with spectral separation of channels, the scope of this method and its ability to increase the throughput of fiber-optic transmission lines are limited.
Known devices [3-7] for increasing the throughput of a fiber optic transmission line, comprising building lengths of an optical cable, optical fibers of which are connected in series, optical amplifiers connected in series in optical fibers of a transmission line, while sections of a transmission line on which building lengths are laid optical cable with optical fibers with positive chromatic dispersion, alternate with sections of the transmission line on which the building lengths of the optical cable with optical fibers with negative chromatic dispersion, and, at the same time, the distance between optical amplifiers, the period with which optical fibers with positive and negative chromatic dispersion alternate, the optical radiation power at the output of optical amplifiers, and the transmission parameters of optical fibers so that dispersion-controlled solitons propagate in the transmission line. The influence of chromatic dispersion and nonlinearity factors is significantly reduced when using the operating mode of a fiber-optic transmission line, in which solitons propagate in it [3]. For these devices, the period with which optical fibers with positive and negative chromatic dispersion alternate can significantly exceed the distance between the optical amplifiers. This approach is mainly used for ultra-long transnational fiber-optic communication lines. It provides a significant increase in the length of regeneration sections, however, the length of the amplification sections increases slightly, which limits its use for terrestrial fiber-optic transmission lines and, in particular, makes it economically inefficient for their reconstruction. In addition, the implementation of this device during the reconstruction of the transmission line requires the replacement of optical fiber in sections of sections, which, in turn, requires replacement of the building lengths of the optical cable and, as a rule, is associated with a large amount of earthwork and significant costs. This makes the use of this device for the reconstruction of transmission lines economically inefficient and, accordingly, limits its scope.
A device [8] is known for increasing the throughput of a fiber optic transmission line, comprising the construction lengths of the optical cable, the optical fibers of which are connected in series in the couplings, the optical amplifiers connected in series in the optical fibers, the distance between the optical amplifiers being divided into elementary sections, each of which includes a portion of the transmission line on which the building lengths of the optical cable with optical fibers are laid, the chromatic dispersion of which is greater and greater than the average chromatic dispersion of the transmission line as a whole, and the portion of the transmission line on which the construction lengths of the optical cable with optical fibers are laid, the chromatic dispersion of which is negative and less than the average chromatic dispersion of the transmission line as a whole, the average value of the chromatic dispersion of the transmission line in generally lies in the region of anomalous dispersion, the length and chromatic dispersion of the optical fibers in the sections satisfy the condition:

i - порядковый номер элементарной секции, -i - serial number of the elementary section, -
Это делает применение данного устройства для реконструкции линий передачи экономически неэффективным и, соответственно, ограничивает область его применения.and the distance between the optical amplifiers, the optical radiation power at the output of the optical amplifiers, and the parameters of the optical fibers are selected so that dispersion-controlled solitons propagate in the transmission line.
