Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for measuring the distribution of strain using optical fiber as a sensing element.
The integrity and serviceability of distributed objects is largely determined by the properties and condition of the soil in which they are laid. Typically, damage to distributed objects, such as underground pipelines, roads, tunnels, etc., is caused by movement of the ground or unauthorized excavations. The integrity problems of underground distributed objects are especially acute when they are laid under water, in mountainous areas (on slopes) and in conditions of thawing and freezing of the surrounding soil. To prevent accidents of distributed objects, continuous or periodic monitoring of soil shifts (displacements) and its temperature in the immediate vicinity of the object is used. In the soil, in the area at risk of displacement, a sensor optical cable is laid so that the movement of the soil causes elastic tensile-compression deformation of the sections of the optical fibers that make up the cable. The strain distribution of the optical fiber is measured and used to analyze soil movements. An optical fiber designed to measure the distribution of deformation is placed in a special sensor cable, which, on the one hand, allows it to deform (stretch and contract) under the influence of external loads, and on the other hand, protects it from adverse external influences during installation and operation . The optical fibers used in the sensor cable have a limited range of permissible deformation and a corresponding range of permissible tensile forces of the cable. If the maximum allowable tensile force of the sensor cable is exceeded, which usually corresponds to an extension of the optical fiber by 1% - 2%, the optical fiber breaks, which makes it impossible to use the entire sensor cable or part thereof as a sensing element. Therefore, to restore operability, it is necessary to restore the integrity of the sensor cable, which is associated with labor-intensive excavation work to replace its damaged area.
5.A device is known for measuring strain (see RF Patent No. 2346235, published July 27, 2008), which uses a method based on the phenomenon of stimulated Mandelstamm-Brillouin scattering that occurs in an optical fiber. Известно устройство [DITEST SMARTEX SENSOR. - URL: http://www.smartec.ch/PDF/SDS%2011.1050%20DiTeSt%20SMART Geo Tex% 20Fabric.pdf. Known device [DITEST SMARTEX SENSOR. - URL: http://www.smartec.ch/PDF/SDS%2011.1050%20DiTeSt%20SMART Geo Tex% 20Fabric.pdf. Date of treatment 07/13/2010], designed to improve the accuracy of monitoring soil displacements, having an increased adhesion surface of the cable to the surrounding soil. The device is a geotextile with an integrated sensor cable for measuring strain. The device consists of taped tapes made of non-woven material, which are mounted on the cable and cover it with some clearance. This achieves an increase in the area of contact of the tapes with the ground, and, consequently, an increase in adhesion to it. However, the device has the following disadvantages. The device does not allow to accurately record the initial lateral displacements of the soil due to the presence of a gap between the cable and the tapes, as well as due to the flexibility of the tape material. At first, with small lateral displacements of the soil, the tapes are displaced together with the soil relative to the cable within the specified gap, then, after selecting the specified gap, the tapes are deformed with a part of the force transferred to the cable, then, with large displacements of the soil, the tapes and cable move together. All this leads to an underestimation of the results of determining the initial transverse displacements of the soil. In addition, since there is no longitudinal attachment of the tapes to the cable, longitudinal cable slippage occurs in areas located on both sides of the soil moving section. Cable slippage introduces an error in the accuracy of determining the location of soil movement. The length of each area of longitudinal cable slippage is determined depending on the friction force, increasing along the length of the cable and necessary for its retention in a stable part of the soil.
(Defining and monitoring of landslide boundaries using fiber optic systems. M. Iten, A. Schmid, D. Hauswirth & A.M. Puzrin. Prediction and Simulation Methods for Geohazard Mitigation - Oka, Murakami & Kimoto (eds), 2009 Taylor & Francis Group, London, ISBN 978-0-415-80482-0). Данное устройство использовалось для определения границ подвижек грунта (оползней).The closest technical solution (prototype) is the device (Defining and monitoring of landslide boundaries using fiber optic systems. M. Iten, A. Schmid, D. Hauswirth & AM Puzrin. Prediction and Simulation Methods for Geohazard Mitigation - Oka, Murakami & Kimoto ( eds), 2009 Taylor & Francis Group, London, ISBN 978-0-415-80482-0). The device consists of a Brillouin analyzer manufactured by Omnisens and a sensor system mounted in the ground. The Brillouin analyzer allows you to measure the strain distribution of the sensor cable. The sensor system consists of
However, the device has the following disadvantages. Since the anchor is rigidly fixed to the sensor cable, the maximum force transmitted by the anchor to the sensor cable is determined by the strength of the anchor in the ground. The strength of anchoring in the soil depends on the shape of the anchor and the properties of the soil, which during operation change, for example, when the density of the soil changes over time, as a result of ramming, when the temperature drops, or when the soil moisture changes. With a significant (fast-flowing or slowly developing in time) displacement of the soil and anchors together with the soil, the force transmitted by the anchor to the sensor cable can exceed the allowable tensile force of the cable, which irreversibly destroys it. In such extreme operating conditions, a firm grip on the ground with anchors rigidly mounted on the sensor cable becomes a drawback.
The technical result of the invention is to limit the force transmitted by the anchor to the sensor cable when the anchors are displaced together with the soil, regardless of the properties of the soil, which may be inaccurate or change over time and, due to this, increase the service life of the sensor cable.
An accompanying particular technical result of the invention is the preservation of the operability of a deformable mechanical fuse after its operation. The specified technical result is achieved due to the fact that the known device for measuring soil deformations, containing a strain-sensitive sensor optical cable, a measuring unit associated with a cable, anchors connected to a cable and soil, according to the claimed invention is equipped with a cable protection system from destruction, including a fuse integrated in each anchor. Each anchor can be connected to the cable by means of a detachable clamp, and to the ground by a thrust plate.
The fuse may include fasteners configured to fasten the thrust plate to the detachable clip, and when a predetermined load is applied to the fastener, the above-mentioned fasteners are destroyed, thereby ensuring freedom of movement of the cable relative to the thrust plate.
The fastener can be made in the form of latches located on the thrust plate of the armature and meshed with a detachable clip.
The fuse may include fasteners configured to fasten the cable to the detachable clip, and when a specified load is applied to the fasteners, the above-mentioned fasteners are deformed, thereby ensuring freedom of movement of the cable relative to the thrust plate.

The claimed device consists of a measuring unit, which can be either a Brillouin analyzer, or other similar device for measuring the distribution of deformation of the optical fiber and the sensor system mounted in the ground. The sensor system consists of a sensor
ε=Δ/L,ε = Δ / L,
где L - длина отрезка в недеформированном состоянии в мм и Δ - изменение длины отрезка в результате деформации в мм.where L is the length of the segment in the undeformed state in mm and Δ is the change in the length of the segment as a result of deformation in mm.
In this case, the tensile force of any portion of the cable attached by both ends to the anchors is associated with the specific elongation of the cable caused by the movement of the anchors relative to each other as a result of soil movement. In accordance with Hooke's law, in the limit of small strains (ε << 1) they are proportional to each other.
F=k·ε,F = k
H.where F is the tensile force in H and k is the proportionality coefficient (stiffness) in H.
27.02.2011).However, the tensile strength of the cable is limited by the characteristic value for each type of cable, which is usually given in the specification (DiTeSt SMARTube Sensor-URL: http://www.roctest-group.com/sites/default/files/datasheets/products/SDS% 2011.1040% 20DiTeSt% 20SMARTube% 20Sens or.pdf. Date of access 02.27.2011).
To prevent cable destruction, the claimed device is equipped with a cable protection system from destruction, which includes a fuse integrated in each armature, which is triggered when the force exerted by the armature on the sensor cable exceeds a predetermined value (response level). As a result of the fuse being triggered, the cable moves under the action of a tensile force in the ground, as a result of which the relative elongation of the cable and, accordingly, the tensile force in the hazardous area is reduced, preventing cable destruction. Since under the action of the force acting on the cable from the armature side, the tensile force of the cable increases by the value of this force, the response level should be significantly (depending on the parameters of the soil movement) less than the cable's resistance to tensile force. If it is assumed that it is possible to move only in one place of the sensor system mounted in the ground in the area between two anchors, then it is sufficient that the response level is less than the cable resistance to tensile force slightly (by the sum of the errors in determining these parameters). Setting the fuse trip level in the armature design avoids the uncertainties associated with the variability of the mechanical properties of the soil from place to place and over time.
The inventive device options include a mechanism for protecting the sensor cable from tensile forces exceeding the permissible values, performed in two structural versions of mechanical fuses.
26.In the first embodiment, the design with destructible mechanical fuse (figure 5, figure 6), the anchor consists of a
The fuse function in this design is performed by latches 25 (Fig. 7). Since the projection area of the
31.In the second embodiment, the design with a deformable mechanical fuse (Fig. 8, Fig. 9), the anchor has structural elements similar to structural elements with a destructible mechanical fuse, with the exception of the following differences between the
The design of the
14.The design of the
The function of the mechanical safety lock in this design is performed by the
17.The trigger threshold of the fuse is determined by the shape and depth of relief of the outer surface of the sensor cable, the force of the cable against the armature and the coefficient of friction (rest and slip) of the armature relative to the sensor cable. The operating threshold of the mechanical safety lock F c (in H) is determined experimentally or calculated by the formula: F c = k 1 · P, H, where k 1 is the coefficient of friction of the elastic insert relative to the sensor cable, P, H is the clamping force of the elastic insert to the sensor cable . The response threshold is controlled by replacing one elastic liner with another with a modified coefficient of elasticity and / or the choice of the thickness of the calibration plate 17.
The tensile force of the sensor cable is limited to a level below the maximum permissible due to the introduction of these fuses into the device design. The load on the sensor cable is limited either by limiting the force of fixing the thrust plate of the armature to the detachable clip (destructible mechanical fuse), or by limiting the force of fixing the detachable clip to the sensor cable (deformable mechanical fuse). The force of anchor fixing to the sensor cable is limited in the case of a deformable mechanical fuse by selecting elastic inserts with a given coefficient of elasticity and adjusting the distance between the
