The invention relates to the field of silicates technology and relates to methods for simulating bamboo coral.

A known method of manufacturing ceramic products, involving the preparation of a ceramic mass based on kaolin or white clay, plastic molding of the workpiece, drying, firing, cooling, staining [1]. This method is not intended for coral.

The objective of the invention is to increase the water resistance of a material that simulates natural bamboo.

The tube is transversely tied with cotton thread in two places, at a distance of 10 mm from each other, creating a groove in the surface of the tube with thread that is 0.5 mm deep and 1 mm wide. Then the workpiece is dried to a moisture content of not more than 4% and the thread is removed. Firing is carried out at a temperature of 1000 ° C, the resulting product is evenly cooled to room temperature.

Obtained by the proposed method, the products in appearance resemble bamboo coral. The material is waterproof, can be used in the manufacture of souvenirs, jewelry, Christmas tree decorations, as well as for the design of aquariums.
