Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods for measuring the concentration of impurity gases (for example, ammonia) in atmospheric air and can be used in environmental monitoring systems.
Known methods for determining the concentration of gas by selective absorption of electromagnetic radiation in order to detect a specific gas in the gas mixture (Application for invention RU 2007143848 A; IPC C01 No. 21/35; 2007. Application for invention RU 2001114303 A; IPC G01 No. 1/00 ; 2003).
The implementation of these methods involves the use of devices that provide selective separation of the absorption line of the gases to be determined, as well as the necessary increase in the path length of the light flux in the gas layer due to specially used cuvettes. All this imposes additional conditions on maintaining a stable state of the density of the gas mixture in the working space of the cell. In addition, dust particles can significantly affect the process of radiation absorption, absorbing and scattering radiation incident on the gas in a wide frequency band, including the absorption band of the analyzed gas.
All this can lead to a distortion of the analysis results.
In addition, comparatively strong luminous fluxes are used for the measurement, for the measurement of which integral characteristics (photocurrents) are used, which is inferior in the measurement accuracy to methods using the calculation of individual radiation quanta.
The technical result is the detection of impurity gases in conditions that are not critical to the strict stabilization of the gas flow and dusty atmosphere, and improving the accuracy of measurements.
The technical result is achieved in that the method for determining impurity gases in atmospheric air includes adsorption of a gas mixture on a solid surface, excitation of luminescence in the formed system by irradiation with electromagnetic radiation, and registration after exposure to radiation of the luminescence relaxation characteristic of impurity gases in the detection mode of individual quanta.
To increase the sensitivity of the method, nanostructured alumina obtained by the anodic electrochemical oxidation of metallic aluminum in solutions of strong acids (for example, sulfuric or oxalic) is used as a solid (adsorbate). As is known (Odynets L.L., Orlov V.M. Anodic oxide films. - L .: Nauka, 1990. - 200 s), in this case a porous oxide film with nanoscale cells providing a highly developed adsorption surface is formed, which increases the concentration the studied gas, and therefore the sensitivity of the method.
Practical implementation of the method was carried out on standard equipment of the KAMAK system using an FEU-37 photoelectric photomultiplier as a luminescence detector in the mode of recording individual radiation quanta. Luminescence was excited by lighting a high-pressure mercury lamp. The radiation characteristics were analyzed using a personal computer included in the system through a pulse multiplier processing device. The presence of ammonia in atmospheric air was analyzed.
Разница в значениях интенсивности излучения для фиксированного момента времени пропорциональна количеству адсорбированного газа (в данном случае аммиака).The drawing shows the dependence of the luminescence relaxation of pure adsorbate (film of aluminum oxide) (curve 1) and in the presence of ammonia (curve 2). The difference in the values of the radiation intensity for a fixed point in time is proportional to the amount of adsorbed gas (in this case, ammonia).
