Description
The invention relates to a means of treating water with metal ions and can be used as a sanitary-hygienic agent with a bacteriostatic effect. The tool can also be used in veterinary medicine to improve the viability of animals.
Water containing micro-concentrations of gold has been known since ancient times and is mentioned in the Vedas as a healing remedy two thousand years BC. Currently, this tool is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine as a general strengthening, antidepressant, to improve mental activity, etc. Traditionally, these drugs are prepared by prolonged boiling of gold foil in drinking water.
Drinking water containing gold is known from ABC Dispensing Technologies (http://www.strangenewproducts.com/2005/09/bottled-water-with- gold.html). Also known is drinking water "Altai Golden", containing "balanced ratio of gold and silver" (http://www.agw.su) [1]. Manufacturers of known drinking water do not indicate the specific gold content in their products.
Known drinking water containing gold ions in amounts from 0.001 to 0.006 mg / l [2], used as a homeopathic remedy in the treatment of various diseases and can inhibit microflora.
Since gold, being a precious metal, has a high cost, it is advisable to reduce its amount while maintaining the properties of water to obtain an economic effect.
In most countries and in Russia, including the gold content in drinking water is not regulated by sanitary standards. This does not oblige water producers to comply with any maximum permissible concentration (MPC) of gold in drinking water. However, based on the research work of some scientists, it has been concluded that gold ions can be risk factors for colon cancer (Kikuchi at all, 1999). Gold as a heavy metal is a potentially toxic element [3]. Thus, the issue of MAC of gold in drinking water is quite relevant.
The aim of the present invention is to provide drinking water with microconcentrations of gold, combining the maximum beneficial properties - maintaining bacteriostatic action while reducing ion concentration, which will save precious metal, in addition, the risk of drinking such water for human and animal health is minimal.
Popularizers of drinking water containing gold, referring to the positive thousand-year experience of Ayurvedic medicine, argue that this water can not harm human health. At the same time, they lose sight of the fact that Ayurvedic water is used inside as a medicine no more than 100 ml per day, while drinking water can be consumed by a person about 2.5 liters per day.
To the question: "What are the concentrations of gold in the water prepared by Ayurveda?" - The answer was given as a result of our research work. In one case, these concentrations ranged from 0.001 to 0.006 mg / L. [2], (prototype). In other cases, they reached 0.0125 mg / L. And their number depended on the specific preparation technique of the preparation, namely, the volume of water, the duration of boiling, and the surface area of the gold foil. It follows that the amount of gold consumed internally when using Ayurvedic water can be from 0.0001 to 0.00125 mg per day. If the consumer begins to drink up to 2.5 liters of water per day, the concentration of gold in it can be from 0.00004 to 0.0005 mg / l. But this does not mean that prolonged use of water with such concentrations does not pose a health risk. It is known that gold can accumulate in the body, and the long-term results of its deposition have not yet been studied. To avoid the accumulation of gold in the body, it is necessary to study its elimination. It was established that the gold content in human urine can reach 0.1 mg / l [1, p. 629]. This means that the concentration of gold in drinking water in an amount of from 0.00004 to 0.0005 mg / l does not reach the half-life values, and therefore can be considered quite safe for humans.
The methods of obtaining "golden water", which are used by traditional healers, are unsuitable for the production of drinking water with gold ions on an industrial scale. But at present this does not present technical difficulties. For example, you can use the skin effect when an alternating current of superhigh frequency is passed through a gold electrode placed in water. This method makes it possible to enrich even distilled water with gold ions in any concentration.
Our further experiments were aimed at studying the effect of various micro-concentrations of gold on the microflora in drinking water. For this, 6 servings of drinking dechlorinated water with a volume of 0.2 l were prepared, meeting the requirements of SanPiN 2.1.4.107-01. Of these, 5 servings were saturated with gold ions in the following concentrations: 0.00004; 0.00008; 0.00016; 0,00032; 0,00064 mg / l. The 6th portion of water served as a control and was not saturated with gold. All 6 servings of water were in containers open to ambient air under normal conditions. Seven days later, water samples were taken from each tank to determine the total microbial number in them by plating on Petri dishes with a dense nutrient medium and the method of membrane filters (GOST 18963-73, MUK 4.2.1018-01). The test results showed that in the water that served as the control, the total microbiological number was 1.76 × 10 5 CFU per 1 ml. In water, where the gold concentration was 0.00004 mg / l, the total microbial number was practically the same as the control. In water with a gold concentration of 0.00008 mg / L, the total microbial number was 1.98 × 10 3 CFU per 1 ml. In the remaining water samples in culture, bacterial growth was absent. This experience allows us to conclude that drinking dechlorinated water with gold ion concentrations of 0.00016 mg / l or more has bacteriostatic properties.
Subsequent experiments made it possible to establish the effect of the above gold concentrations on the viability of biological objects. Studies were conducted on 6 groups of mice of the same inbred line, females, of the same age, 30 individuals in each group. 5 groups were experimental and one group - control. All mice were kept under identical conditions and on the same diet. All mice were able to mate and reproduce offspring. In the experimental groups, dechlorinated drinking water was saturated with gold ions in the above concentrations: for group 1 - 0.00004 mg / l; for the 2nd - 0.00008 mg / l; for the 3rd - 0.00016 mg / l; for the 4th - 0.0003 2 mg / l; for the 5th - 0,00064 mg / l. For the control group, the water was not saturated with gold. The following indicators were observed in the groups: average life expectancy, total number of reproducible offspring, mortality of the offspring.
Если в контрольной группе она составила 3,3%, то в 1-й и 2-й группах по 2,8%; в 3-й - 2,6%; в 4-й - 2,1%; в 5-й - 1,4%.The experimental results showed: The total number of reproducible offspring in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and control groups did not significantly differ from each other. In the 5th group, the total number of offspring was lower by 9% compared with the control group. But at the same time, in all experimental groups, mortality among newborn offspring was lower. If in the control group it was 3.3%, then in the 1st and 2nd groups, 2.8%; in the third - 2.6%; in the 4th - 2.1%; in the 5th - 1.4%.
The average life expectancy of individuals in the control group was 752 days. In the experimental groups, these terms were: in the 1st - 761 days; in the 2nd - 764 days; in the 3rd - 768 days; in the 4th - 772 days; in the 5th - 782 days.
The results obtained indicate that the regular use of drinking water with gold ions in concentrations from 0.00004 to 0.00064 mg / l increases the life expectancy of animals and the viability of their offspring.
The general conclusion from the work done is the following: micro-concentrations of gold in drinking water from 0.00004 to 0.0005 mg / l should be considered beneficial for animals.
This invention can be used to prepare drinking water with the aim of giving it bacteriostatic properties and to improve the viability of animals. The invention can be easily carried out by means of modern technical devices. Previously known information did not allow specialists to obviously consider that the proposed gold concentrations of 0.00016 mg / l give bacteriostatic properties to water. Our new calculations and experiments allow us to state this.
