Abstract

FIELD: construction, particularly manual devices for liquid or other fluid material application onto different surfaces used in surface finishing, for instance rollers for wallpaper hanging or paint application.

SUBSTANCE: finishing roller comprises handle with extension member receiving cavity, which receives one end of extension member, and ferrule connected to another handle end and adapted to fix roller. Roller has working material application coating. Handle end opposite to that with extension member receiving cavity has depression, which creates working material accumulation void. Void has depth H selected from 0.03L<H<0.35L, where L is handle length. Void mouth may have extensions to support user's finger and to suspend the finishing roller to edge of bin filled with working material to provide excessive working material flowing back into bin.

EFFECT: extended functional capabilities along with simplified structure and reliability of handle connection with extension member, increased usage convenience due to prevention of handle spotting with working material and possibility to save working material.

Description

The invention relates to construction, namely to manual devices for applying liquids or other fluid substances to various surfaces used in the finishing work, in particular to the construction of rollers intended for painting or wallpaper work.

The closest in technical essence to the present invention is a finishing roller selected as a prototype, comprising a handle with a cavity for placement from one of its ends of the extension cord, rigidly connected to the other end of the handle by one end of the clasp and mounted on the other end of the last roller with a coating for applying a working material (see GOST 10831-87, drawing 1, 1989, reprint 1993).

The disadvantage of the prototype is the inconvenience in operation due to the ingress of working material on the handle, as well as the inefficiency of its use.

The technical result achieved by the present invention is to expand operational capabilities while maintaining the simplicity of design and the reliability of the connection of the handle with the extension cord by increasing the ease of use by eliminating the ingress of working material on the handle, as well as saving consumable working material by reusing it.

The technical result achieved is achieved in that in the handle with a coating with a cavity with a cavity for placement from one of the ends of the extension cord, rigidly connected to the other end of the handle with one end of the clasp and mounted on the other end of the last roller with a coating for applying the working material, in the handle with a recess is made from the cavity opposite to the cavity for accommodating the extension cord, forming a cavity for collecting working material with a depth H selected from a ratio of 0.03L <H <0.35L, where L is the handle length.

The implementation of the depth H of the cavity for collecting working material less than 0.03L does not reach the technical task for collecting the working material due to the insufficient size of the above cavity formed by the recess, the implementation of the depth H of the cavity for collecting working material more than 0.35L will lead to inconvenience of operation due to the difficulty of cleaning this cavity from the working material remaining on the recess walls, as well as to the unreliability of the connection of the handle with the extension cord due to a significant reduction in the cavity to accommodate the latter.

In Fig.1 shows the proposed finishing roller, in isometry, in Fig.2 - the handle of the finishing roller, a longitudinal section.

The finishing roller contains a handle 1 with a cavity 2 for placement from one of its 3 ends (3, 4) an extension cord (not shown), rigidly connected to the other end 4 of the handle 1 with one end of the clasp 5 and mounted on the other end of the last roller 6 with coating 7 for applying working material. In the handle 1, a recess 8 is made from the opposite end from the cavity 2 to accommodate the extension 4; it forms a cavity 9 for collecting working material with a depth H selected from the ratio 0.03L <H <0.35L, where L is the length of the handle 1. On the part the neck 10 of the cavity 9 can be made of the protrusions 11, serving simultaneously to support the finisher finger and suspension of the finishing roller on the edge of the tank with a working material for draining the latter.

Finishing roller works as follows.

When working with a finishing roller, a working material, such as paint, is applied to the surface to be treated. The paint falling on the clasp 5 flows down it into the cavity 9, excluding its contact with the handle 1, thereby increasing the convenience during operation of the finishing roller. After filling the cavity 9 with paint, it merges into a container with a working material, which saves consumables.

Claims (1)

A finishing roller containing a handle with a cavity for placement from one of its ends of the extension cord, rigidly connected to the other end of the handle with one end of the clasp and mounted on the other end of the last roller with a coating for applying the working material, characterized in that in the handle from the opposite from the cavity for the extension of the extension of the end is made a recess, forming a cavity for collecting working material with a depth of H, selected from a ratio of 0.03L <H <0.35L, where L is the length of the handle.
