Technical field
The present invention relates to the field of design and production of video screens, in particular large-sized group LED displays for the visual display of text, graphic and video information for advertising and other purposes.
State of the art
A known method of image formation using three sources of light: red, green and blue, formed, for example, using a cathode ray tube on a television screen or projection apparatus. However, for large screens, this method of image formation is ineffective due to a decrease in resolution, which reduces the quality of the reproduced image.
The closest analogue is the image forming method implemented in the HATA 420. RQY / 32 × 112 screen model of NATA-INFO company. The method includes forming a screen in the form of a matrix of LEDs, dividing the matrix into full-color dots - pixels, each of which consists of at least four multi-colored LEDs, connecting each LED to a power source with the ability to individually change the current flowing through each LED, and control the brightness of each LED with the ability to obtain the entire spectrum of colors visible to the human eye, applying to the image frame matrix, each fragment of which is displayed on the screen, respectively favoring full color point - pixel - the light emitting array.
In addition, each full-color dot — a pixel — is formed of at least four LEDs: 2 red, 1 green, and 1 blue. The resolution of such screens is determined by the number of horizontal and vertical pixels that reproduce the same image fragment. The screen approximately contains 320 pixels vertically and 240 pixels horizontally, which is 307200 LEDs. Increasing the resolution of the screen to improve the quality of the reproduced image, for example, 4 times will require an increase in the number of LEDs used, respectively 4 times. Those. improving the quality of the image displayed on the screen proportionally increases the number of LEDs used, which in turn increases the screen size, cost and power consumption.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The aim of the present invention is to provide an image forming method that can increase the resolution of the LED screen without increasing the screen area and the number of LEDs used and, accordingly, without increasing the cost of electricity and production costs.
This result is achieved by the fact that the image forming method on the LED screen includes forming a screen in the form of a matrix of LEDs, dividing the matrix into full-color dots, each of which consists of at least several multi-colored LEDs, connecting each LED to a power source with the ability to individually change the current flowing through each LED, and control the brightness of each LED with the possibility of obtaining the entire spectrum of colors visible to the human eye, supplying atritsu image frame, each piece of which is reproduced on the screen corresponding to full-color LED dot matrix. Moreover, each image frame is preliminarily laid out into four subframes, the first of which contains fragments reproduced by odd full-color dots located horizontally and vertically of the matrix, the second contains fragments reproduced by even full-color dots located horizontally and odd full-color dots located vertically matrices, the third contains fragments reproduced by odd full-color dots located horizontally, and even full-color dots, arranged vertically by the matrix, the fourth contains fragments reproduced by even full-color dots located horizontally and vertically of the matrix, are fed into the matrix in random order sequentially in time subframes, one of which is superimposed on the matrix without offset, the other is superimposed on the matrix with one right shift a vertical line of LEDs, the third is superimposed on the matrix with a shift down one horizontal line of LEDs, the fourth is superimposed on a matrix with a forward shift in one vertical and one horizontal down on the line of LEDs. Moreover, the LEDs are placed in a full-color dot in the form of a matrix of at least 2 × 2 LEDs.
Such improvements to the image forming method can increase the resolution of the LED screen without increasing the screen area and the number of LEDs used and, accordingly, without increasing the cost of electricity and production costs.

An example of carrying out the invention
The method is based on the location of the LEDs in the full-color point and in the matrix (figure 1). The maximum brightness at the full-color dot formed by two red, green and blue LEDs is obtained at its center. The step, which also determines the resolution of the LED screen, is equal to the distance between the LEDs of the same color, for example, between two blue LEDs located at two adjacent full-color dots.
To obtain an image using DL4X technology, according to the invention, we take for example a matrix consisting of 8 vertical and 8 horizontal full-color dots (figure 2). Previously, the frame of the reproduced image is decomposed into four subframes (figure 3), each of which is remembered. The first subframe contains fragments of the image that should have been reproduced on the odd vertical and horizontal full-color points of the matrix. The second subframe contains fragments of the image that were supposed to be reproduced on horizontally even and vertically odd full-color matrix points. The third subframe contains fragments of the image that should have been reproduced on odd horizontal and even vertical vertically full-color matrix points. The fourth subframe contains fragments of the image that were supposed to be reproduced on even vertical and horizontal full-color points of the matrix. Then, pre-stored subframes of the reproduced image frame are fed to the matrix in random order sequentially in time. Moreover, one subframe is superimposed on the matrix without bias, the other is superimposed on the matrix with a shift to the right by one vertical line of LEDs, the third is superimposed on the matrix with a shift down by one horizontal line of LEDs, the fourth is superimposed on the matrix with a shift to the right one vertical and down one horizontal line of LEDs. As a result of this method (Fig. 4) of reproducing an image on a matrix of 64 LEDs, 64 full-color dots are obtained, while in the traditional method of reproducing an image, only 16 full-color dots can be obtained. Thus, without changing the step of the arrangement of the LEDs and saving their number, a four-fold increase in the resolution of the LED screen is obtained.
The method according to the invention can be implemented using the device (figure 5), consisting of a
