Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a handle for a tool, and more specifically to an improved handle having a gripping hole for the thumb. This handle is suitable for tools such as a trowel and similar devices, and allows you to hold this tool tighter during operation.

BACKGROUND

Ordinary handles for various tools have been known for a very long time. Known handles do not have openings for fingers, on the contrary, they are covered by hand. Sometimes, to press the tool, the index finger, and possibly the middle finger, is pulled forward to the working part of the tool. The fingers extended forward serve mainly to control the tool and to exert pressure on it, and not to hold the tool in the hand. This causes inconvenience when using tools of all kinds.

There are also “pens” consisting only of a thumb hole, for example on a palette. However, the palette is not used as a tool in the usual sense, rather, it can be compared with a tray.

Also known handle according to US patent No. 1,980,087 (11/06/1034, B 25 G 1/10), designed to secure a tool, such as a file or screwdriver. This handle is made to be held by a hand grip, as well as to be held by the thumb alone due to the presence of a gripping hole for the thumb in the handle, which is inserted through this hole so that the first joint of the thumb pushes the handle.

The present invention provides a handle improved over prior art handles. Due to the presence of a gripping hole for the thumb in the handle, working conditions are improved, the handle can be held tighter, and the wrist is located at a more convenient, natural angle.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Thus, the present invention provides a handle for a tool that has a working part connected to the handle.

In accordance with the invention, the handle has a gripping hole for the thumb. Preferably, the gripping hole is positioned so that the remaining fingers can press the tool relatively close to the working part. The handle for giving it a normal, one-piece appearance can also be equipped with a removable plug located in the gripping hole.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

PERFORMANCE

Thus, the invention relates to a tool handle improved from an ergonomic point of view. The handle for the tool with the working part connected to it is made to provide grip by hand grip, as well as to provide grip with only one thumb due to the presence of a gripping hole for the thumb in the handle, which is inserted through this hole so that the first joint of the thumb presses pen. A distinctive feature of the invention is the implementation of the handle so that the first joint of the thumb presses the handle in the opposite direction compared to the tips of the other fingers, while the fingers do not grab the handle.

In the drawings, the tool is shown in the form of a wide spatula or trowel, also used for other tools, such as grinding tools, brushes and the like.

As can be seen in figure 1, outwardly this trowel resembles an ordinary trowel having a handle 1 and a working part 2, consisting of a metal plate and a holder for the handle. The handle is located not perpendicular to the working part, but at a certain angle, which is also known.

The novelty of the invention lies in the fact that the handle is made, firstly, so that it can be held by hand, and secondly, also so that it can be held with only one thumb due to the fact that it has a gripping hole 3, designed for the thumb. The thumb is inserted through the hole so that its first joint presses on the handle and the inside of the thumb is pressed against the front of the hole 3. At the same time, the back of the hole 3 is in contact with the outside of the hand and thumb. The tips of the remaining fingers click on the other side of the tool (back side in the drawing). The pressure points of the remaining fingers are indicated by dashed ovals 4. As can be seen in the drawings, the hole 3 has an elongated shape, which creates a space for the thumb, which can be directed essentially forward along the handle at a relatively small angle to it. The entire arm is somewhat extended, so that all fingers, including the thumb, are only slightly bent. The wrist also occupies a mostly straight position, but if necessary, of course, during operation it can bend back and forth.

You can see that the tool is very comfortable to hold thanks to the hole 3. The pressure points are distributed along the tool in the most convenient way. Spreading and bringing fingers together, it is possible, accordingly, to easily remove from each other and bring closer to each other places 4 pressure. These places 4 are always distributed over most of the width of the working part 2, and all fingers are used, which makes it possible to apply strong pressure without excessive efforts, for example, during puttying and other types of work where raking movements are needed. Due to the presence of the gripping hole 3, the handle does not need to be covered with fingers, which must be done using known handles. The new pen allows you to better use the structure of the human hand, in which the thumb is directed towards the other fingers.

Preferably, the gripping hole 3 in the places where the thumb extends has rounded inner edges for ease of use. A suitable hole size may be about 3 × 4 cm, the hole being elongated in the longitudinal direction of the handle. The hole 3 should be located at an appropriate distance from the working part, so that the other fingers can press quite close to it. This ensures optimal pressing on the tool and optimal control of it.

However, for certain types of work, it is more convenient to hold the tool by the handle in the usual way. Therefore, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, a plug 5 can be inserted into the gripping hole 3. FIG. 2 shows a trowel with a plug 5 inserted. The plug 5 is inserted into the handle, which increases the pressure surface in the hand enclosing the handle.

Figures 3 and 4 show a first embodiment of a plug. As shown in the drawings, the plug may be divided into parts. Such a plug consists of two halves 11, connected to each other by means of a connection containing a pin 9, which is part of one of the halves or attached to it and passing into the through hole 10 in the other half. The plug is installed by inserting it in half, one on each side, into the gripping hole 3 and inserting the pin 9 into the hole 10. The plug in the assembled state is held due to friction between the pin and the hole. The plug for smooth coupling with the inner edge of the gripping hole 3 has a cup-shaped outer edge 8. To remove the plug through the hole 10, push the pin 9 with a pointed object, as a result of which the halves 11 will slightly open. Then the halves are easily disconnected from each other. Other types of connections are also possible, for example with Velcro tapes. The specified plug should not be elastic and can be made of harder material, such as plastic.

Figures 5 and 6 show a second embodiment of a plug. The plug 5 is made in the form of an integral part, preferably made of rubber or other elastic material, and for smoothly mating with the inner edge of the gripping hole 3 has a cup-shaped outer edge 6. The plug 5 is easily installed manually and can be removed using any pointed object, for example screwdrivers.

As can be seen in the drawings, the handle also has a hole 7 for hanging, as with ordinary pens. This hole 7 is not part of the present invention, therefore, it may be absent.

It is clear that the proposed handle can be used in other tools, such as brushes, brushes, grinding tools and so on. Obviously, the angle between the handle and the working part can also vary depending on the purpose of the tool. The scope of protection of the invention is limited only by the claims below.
