Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of hydrometallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular, to a technology for processing nickel-cobalt concentrate and can be used to produce pure nickel and cobalt compounds with the separation of related impurity metals - iron, copper and zinc.
Nickel-cobalt concentrates of various non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises, as a rule, contain iron, copper, zinc, and, to a lesser extent, chromium, aluminum, molybdenum, tungsten, and other metals as the main impurities.
Known technologies for the processing of nickel-cobalt concentrates, providing for the dissolution of raw materials in mineral acids and further purification of the resulting solutions of nickel and cobalt from related impurities by methods of deposition of the latter in the form of sparingly soluble compounds. [Khudyakov I.F. et al. Metallurgy of copper, nickel and cobalt. Ed. 2nd. - M.: Metallurgy, 1977, 263 p.]. Precipitation schemes for processing nickel-cobalt concentrates are characterized by relatively high losses of nickel and cobalt with precipitation of impurity elements.
162].Higher results on the extraction and degree of purification of nickel and cobalt from impurities are provided by nickel-cobalt concentrate processing technologies based on dissolving the raw materials in mineral acids and subsequent purification of the resulting nickel and cobalt solutions from impurities using extraction methods along with precipitation [G. Ritchie M. ., Ashbrook A.S. Extraction: principles and applications in metallurgy. - M .: Metallurgy, 1983, p.162].
[L.F.Cook, W.W.Szmokaluk. In Proceedings of International Solvent Extraction Conference, ISEC'71, The Hague, Pub. Sec. Chem. Ind., London, 1971, pp.451-462].The closest analogue of the proposed method is a method for processing nickel-cobalt concentrate, which includes dissolving the feedstock in sulfuric acid, hydrolytic precipitation of iron from the resulting solution by treating it with an oxidizing agent and an acid neutralizing agent, subsequent separation of the liquid and solid phases of the pulp with washing the precipitate with water and obtaining a hydrated precipitate of iron and a solution purified from it, precipitation of copper from the solution in the form of a sparingly soluble salt, for example, copper sulfide, followed by separating the pulp and obtaining a precipitate of copper and a solution purified from it, extracting zinc from the solution with a salt of an organic acid, for example, di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid in sodium form, as a 10-30% solution in a hydrocarbon diluent, to obtain purified extracts in the raffinate from impurities of salts of nickel and cobalt. [L.F. Cook, W.W. Szmokaluk. In Proceedings of International Solvent Extraction Conference, ISEC'71, The Hague, Pub. Sec. Chem. Ind., London, 1971, pp. 451-462].
The disadvantages of this method are the relatively high losses of nickel and cobalt with precipitates obtained after dissolution of the raw materials and hydrolytic deposition of iron, incomplete deposition of iron and its dependence on the purification indicators of copper and zinc, as well as large volumes of processed solutions due to the repeated use of filtration and increased water consumption for washing difficult to filter and poorly washed sediments.
The present invention allows to achieve a more complete extraction of Nickel and cobalt while increasing the degree of purification of these elements from impurities of iron, copper and zinc. In addition, the processing of nickel-cobalt concentrates according to the invention reduces the cost and simplifies the process by eliminating the operation of separating the pulp after dissolving the feedstock in acid and carrying out hydrolytic cleaning of iron directly from this pulp, which reduces the number of filtering and washing operations and, accordingly, the volume recyclable solutions.
A method for processing nickel-cobalt concentrate involves the preliminary preparation of pulp for dissolving the feedstock by diluting sulfuric acid in a circulating aqueous solution with the addition of an inorganic adsorbent insoluble in sulfuric acid, dissolving the feedstock by feeding it onto the prepared pulp, hydrolytic precipitation of iron from the resulting solution by processing it an oxidizing agent and an acid neutralizing agent, subsequent separation of the liquid and solid phases of the pulp with washing the precipitate ode and obtaining a hydrated precipitate of iron and a solution purified from it, precipitating copper from a solution in the form of a sparingly soluble salt, followed by separation of the pulp and obtaining a copper precipitate and a solution purified from it, extracting zinc from a solution with an organic acid salt to obtain purified salts of impurities in the raffinate extraction nickel and cobalt.
Preliminary preparation of the pulp for dissolving the feedstock is preferably carried out by diluting sulfuric acid in a circulating aqueous solution to a concentration in the liquid phase of 0.6-2 M. It has been experimentally established that in this acidity range the most selective extraction of nickel and cobalt into the solution is ensured in relation to A number of interfering impurities, such as calcium, magnesium, arsenic, which remain in the solid phase, then simplifies the further purification of the solution.
As an inorganic adsorbent insoluble in sulfuric acid, filter perlite powder is most often used, which is introduced into a dilute solution of sulfuric acid in a weight ratio to the total content of iron and aluminum in the feedstock, equal to 0.5-2.5: 1. Other adsorbents can be kieselguhr, zeolites, etc. It has been established, for example, that introducing perlite into the process before the dissolution operation provides deep iron deposition to a residual content of ≤ 1 mg / L in the next hydrolytic deposition operation, which can be explained by additional adsorption “capture” of colloidal hydroxocomplex forms of these metals formed during the neutralization process. In this case, the upper limit of the addition of perlite is limited by an increase in the losses of nickel and cobalt with sediment.
A part of the washing filtrate after washing the hydrated precipitate of iron, which is introduced into the pulp preparation stage for dissolution, based on the weight ratio to the feedstock calculated on a dry basis equal to 1.5-2.5: 1, is mainly used as a reverse aqueous solution. Thanks to this implementation of the process, the minimum dilution of the technological solutions with nickel and cobalt is ensured when the optimum ratio of liquid and solid phases in the pulp obtained at the dissolution stage is achieved.
Subsequently, sufficiently deeply purified nickel and cobalt in the extraction raffinate can be separated by known methods or co-precipitated in the form of hydroxide, which after washing and drying can be used as a starting product in the production of electrode materials for batteries.
An example of the method
45%.For processing, they took a nickel-cobalt concentrate obtained at one of the copper plants by neutralizing nickel sulfate anolytes with separated chalk, which had the following composition,% in terms of dry: Ni 19.6; With 1.1; Fe 0.9; Al 0.1; Cu 0.7; Zn 1.5; Ca 10.2; S sulfate 8.2. The moisture content of the feedstock was 45%.
Preliminarily, a pulp was prepared in a reactor with a volume of 2 m 3 for dissolving the concentrate based on the processing of a batch weighing 1000 kg of wet raw materials (550 kg in dry concentrate). To do this, 1100 kg of reverse wash filtrate was poured into the reactor with a specific gravity ρ = 1025 kg / m 3 based on the weight ratio to the feedstock calculated on a dry basis of 2: 1, then 148.2 kg of 92% was added with stirring sulfuric acid (ρ = 1830 kg / m 3 ), setting the concentration of acid in the liquid phase equal to 1.3 M.
1,5:1.After that, filter perlite powder was filled in accordance with TU 2131 - 44-82 with a particle size of 10-20 μm, which had a bulk density of 120 kg / m 3 in an amount of 8.25 kg, which corresponded to the weight ratio to the total content of iron and aluminum in initial concentrate equal to 1.5: 1.
0,95.After it was heated to 50 ° C, 1000 kg of wet concentrate were loaded into the prepared pulp for 30 min and then the pulp was agitated for 1 h. The final pH of the pulp after dissolution should be in the range of 0.9-1.1, under the conditions of this experiment it amounted to 0.95.
After completion of the dissolution, oxidizing oxygen (in the form of compressed air) began to be fed into the reactor at a rate that provided mixing and bubbling of the pulp with the reactor stirrer turned off, and a neutralizing agent in the form of dry sodium carbonate until the pulp pH was set to 4.3. At this pH value, the pulp was agitated for 4 hours at a temperature of 55-60 ° C, maintaining the pH value with an additional supply of sodium carbonate.
After completion of the hydrolytic precipitation of iron, the pulp with a pH of 4.1 (the final pH obtained in this experiment) was filtered on a vacuum filter. At the same time, 1830 kg of the main filtrate and 490 kg of wet sludge were obtained (humidity 47%). The filter cake was washed with 1300 kg of water with T = 45 ° C based on a water supply of 5 kg per 1 kg of dry cake. At the same time, 460 kg of washed hydrated iron precipitate (humidity 43.5%) and 1330 kg of washing filtrate were obtained, one part of which in the amount of 1100 kg as a circulating aqueous solution was sent to the stage of preparation of the pulp to dissolve the feedstock, and the rest to mixing with main filtrate.
Объединенный фильтрат в количестве 2060 кг (ρ = 1242 кг/м3), содержащий, г/л: Ni 64,5; Со 3,6; Fe 0,002; Сu 2,2; Zn 4,9, передали в реактор объемом 2 м3 для проведения очистки раствора от меди. Для этого в нагретый до 60°С раствор добавили раствор сульфида натрия с концентрацией 150 г/л в количестве 150% от стехиометрии по реакции Cu2++Na2S = CuS↓+2Na+. После добавления сульфида натрия пульпу агитировали в течение 3 ч при Т = 60°С, а затем расфильтровали на вакуум-фильтре с промывкой осадка водой с Т - 45°С при расходе 5 кг на 1 кг сухого осадка. Получили 20 кг отмытого осадка меди (влажность 45%) и 2150 кг объединенного фильтрата (ρ - 1240 кг/м3), содержащего, г/л: Ni 60,4; Со 3,4; Fe 0,002; Сu 0,005; Zn 4,1.The combined filtrate in an amount of 2060 kg (ρ = 1242 kg / m 3 ), containing, g / l: Ni 64.5; Co 3.6; Fe 0.002; Cu 2.2; Zn 4.9, transferred to a reactor with a volume of 2 m 3 to conduct the cleaning of the solution from copper. For this, a solution of sodium sulfide with a concentration of 150 g / l in an amount of 150% of stoichiometry by the reaction Cu 2+ + Na 2 S = CuS ↓ + 2Na + was added to a solution heated to 60 ° C. After adding sodium sulfide, the pulp was agitated for 3 h at T = 60 ° C, and then filtered on a vacuum filter with washing the precipitate with water at T - 45 ° C at a flow rate of 5 kg per 1 kg of dry sediment. Received 20 kg of washed copper precipitate (humidity 45%) and 2150 kg of combined filtrate (ρ - 1240 kg / m 3 ), containing, g / l: Ni 60.4; Co 3.4; Fe 0.002; Cu 0.005; Zn 4.1.
This solution, in order to purify zinc, was subjected to extraction processing in a mixing-settling apparatus, using a 15% solution of D2EHPA in sodium form as an extractant, which was diluted in n-paraffins. The extraction was carried out according to the following scheme. At the first 3 stages, the initial solution supplied to the 3rd stage of the extractor was countercurrently treated with the initial extractant supplied to the 1st stage of the extractor with a volume ratio of organic and aqueous phases (O: B) equal to 1: 1. Moreover, almost all of the zinc, as well as part of the impurities of iron and copper, was recovered in the organic phase. At the next 2 stages, the extract was countercurrently washed with purified water supplied to the 5th stage at О: В - 10: 1, combining the washing raffinate from the 4th stage with the initial solution. At the next 2 steps, the washed extract was countercurrently treated with a solution of H 2 SO 4 (100 g / l) supplied to the 7th step at 0: B = 10: 1, while all zinc from the organic phase was re-extracted into the aqueous phase, which removed from the process in the form of an extract of zinc from the 6th stage. In order to remove lagging impurities (mainly iron) from the organic phase, the extract from the 7th stage was countercurrently treated at the next 3 stages with a NaCl solution (150 g / l) supplied to the 10th stage at O: B = 5: 1. In this case, the NaCl solution leaving the 8th stage returned again to the 10th stage in the form of a circulating circulating solution. At the last 11th stage, the organic phase extracted from all impurities (extract of the 10th stage) was treated with a 42% NaOH solution to convert D2EHPA to the sodium form, after which the treated organic phase was returned to the 1st stage of the extractor as a reverse extractant .
As a result of extraction processing, 2320 kg of zinc extraction raffinate (ρ = 1220 kg / m 3 ) was obtained, which contained, g / l: Ni 52.5; With 3.0; Fe ≤ 0.001; Cu ≤ 0.001; Zn 0.003, with a total content of impurities Fe, Cu and Zn to a total content of Ni and Co not exceeding 0.009%. The extraction of Nickel and cobalt in a purified solution from the initial concentrate was 92.6 and 94%, respectively.
