Abstract
Description
The invention relates to wastewater treatment, in particular to dehydration of excess activated sludge and stabilized sludge generated during the wastewater treatment of industrial enterprises or wastewater mixtures of industrial enterprises with domestic water by the biological method and the disposal of sludge in agriculture. It can be used in the chemical, metallurgical, pulp and paper industry, as well as in public utilities. The complexity of the disposal and processing of excess sludge from secondary sludges and mixtures of sludge and stabilized sludge from primary sumps lies in the high content of heavy metals, the low rate of release of water from sediments at high humidity.
The most common method for dewatering sludge and sludge is the use of polyelectrolytes and coagulants, such as polyacrylamide and ferric chloride. According to the method / ed. St. USSR 882957, bull. 43, 11/23/1981 / in the precipitate is introduced as a coagulant iron salts in doses of 25-30 kg / m 3 the mixture is heated to 65-85 o C, after which the flocculant is introduced - 0.1% and subjected to separation. The proposed method requires a large expenditure of reagents, energy for heating, leads to contamination of the precipitate and filtrate with iron.
A method for compaction of sewage sludge / author St. USSR 1708779, bull. 4, 01/30/1992, /, which consists in the preliminary introduction of an auxiliary substance, which is used as soda ash in doses of 15-20 kg / m 3 with heating of the precipitate to 60-80 o C and subsequent sedimentation for 3-4 hours The disadvantages of the method include the high alkalinity of the filtrate, the need for heating, the invariability of the content of heavy metals in the solid phase, which limits its use in agriculture.
Compaction of excess activated sludge with its possible disposal by introducing a potassium-calcium zeolite with a particle size of 0.15-0.25 mm in an amount of 3-8 kg per m 3 of excess sludge / auth. St. USSR 1165645, bull. July 25, 07/07/1985. The method allows for 3 hours of settling to reach a sediment volume of less than 40% of the initial sludge volume. However, the introduction of zeolite leads to an increase in the content of heavy metals in the dry matter of sludge by 1.3 times, which limits its use in agriculture. There is no evidence of the possibility of dehydration of stabilized sewage sludge.
Closest to the technical nature of the claimed method is a method of processing excess activated sludge containing heavy metals / RF patent 2133231, bull. 20, 07/20/1999, / in which excess activated sludge is mixed with sparingly soluble calcium salts in the form of natural materials or production wastes at ratios of 5-15 parts per 100 parts of sludge, stirred for 3-6 hours at 6-30 o C The solid and liquid phases are further separated by settling and / or centrifugation and / or filtration. Heavy metals that have passed into the aqueous phase are isolated by reagent deposition, or ion exchange, or adsorption. The disadvantages of the method are: a large ratio of calcium material to sludge, insufficient allocation of water from the treated sludge by sedimentation, the low applicability of the method to the processing of sediments of primary sedimentation tanks.
The technical result of the invention is the processing of excess activated sludge, or stabilized sludge of primary sedimentation tanks, or mixtures thereof without high reagent costs, simultaneous refinement of sludge and sludge by heavy metal content by transferring them to the aqueous phase, increasing the amount of water released from sludge and sludge using the simple method upholding.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that 10-25 kg / m 3 of poorly soluble calcium material is preliminarily added to excess sludge or stabilized sediment of primary settling tanks, or to their mixture, the mixture is stirred by aeration for 1-4 hours, and then the phases are separated by settling. Heavy metals are isolated from the aqueous phase by reactive precipitation, or ion exchange, or adsorption. If it is necessary to accelerate the sedimentation, especially when working with precipitation or mixtures of precipitation and silt, after aeration, the mixture is subjected to ultraviolet radiation for 10-60 s or calcium material is introduced in portions within 30 minutes from the start of aeration.
The introduction of calcium material, for example, chalk, gypsum, calcium phosphate, immobilizes sludge or sediment microorganisms on solid particles, accompanied by the replacement of heavy metals in microorganisms by calcium, adsorption of precipitation microparticles on particles of calcium-containing materials, enlargement and compaction of particles, which leads to the intensification of sedimentation . Mixing mixtures by aeration favors the vital activity of microorganisms and the process of replacing heavy metals with calcium. Reducing the dose of the material to less than 10 kg / m 3 leads to a decrease in the settling rate and the degree of release of heavy metals from sludge or sediment, and doses above 25 kg / m 3 are not economically feasible. With aeration of less than 1 h, the required degree of release of heavy metals is not ensured, and the duration of aeration of more than 4 hours does not significantly increase the degree of release of metals.
An increase in the amount of released water from sludge or sludge of biological treatment plants occurs with the fractional introduction of calcium-containing materials, i.e. when dividing the dose of the material into two or more parts with their supply at the beginning of the aeration process, then after 15 or 30 minutes. This supply of material creates better conditions for the immobilization of microorganisms and the adsorption of fine particles on calcium material.
When sedimentation of silts and sediments occurs, the chaotic movement of microorganisms occurs, which leads to incomplete precipitation of silts and precipitation, a decrease in the release of water. The processing of sludge and sediment in a mixture with calcium-containing material by ultraviolet irradiation provides accelerated sedimentation and an increase in the degree of release of water, and with a duration of ultraviolet radiation of less than 10, a proper degree of release of water is not achieved. An increase in the duration of ultraviolet irradiation of more than 60 s leads to the deep destruction of microorganisms, which also does not contribute to the acceleration of subsidence and the completeness of water release. Without UFD, when calcium materials are added in the indicated amounts and aeration, the degree of water evolution / sludge or sludge dewatering / and the settling rate are significantly higher than those of the sedimentation / dehydration process / without the introduction of materials, but UFD can achieve higher values, although it requires additional costs and equipment.
In general, the proposed solution allows for the processing of excess activated sludge, sludge from primary sedimentation tanks of biological treatment plants containing heavy metals and their disposal in agriculture. The proposed method provides an increase in the amount of released water from sediments and silts with simple sedimentation, a decrease in the moisture content of the final sediments, i.e. reduction of precipitation and sludge sent for further processing.
Example 1 / table: examples 1-19 /. B surplus sludge, precipitate or stabilized primary clarifiers or to the mixture of mud and sludge, containing high amounts of heavy metals, of 1 dm 3 was administered 10 or 25 g calcium materials / chalk, gypsum, or calcium phosphate / aerated mixture for 1- 4 h, then subjected to sedimentation. In parallel, experiments were carried out without the introduction of calcium materials. Efficiency was evaluated by the residual content of heavy metals in the dry matter of the solid phase and the volume of released water as a percentage of the volume of the initial mixture at certain intervals after the start of sedimentation. The results are shown in the table.
14-15. Example 20. In the conditions of experiments 10-11 and 14-15 / table / calcium material was introduced in two portions: first half of the entire dose was introduced, and the second half was introduced 30 minutes after the start of aeration. After settling for 4 hours under conditions similar to experiments 10-11, the volume of released water increased by 6-8%. Under conditions similar to
The density of the sediment after ultraviolet treatment increased from 1.005 to 1.025 -1.015 kg / dm 3 . The volume of released water increased, and the volume of sediment decreased. Under the conditions of experiments similar to
The proposed method for processing excess activated sludge and stabilized sludge from primary clarifiers of biological treatment plants containing heavy metals makes it possible to refine sludge and sludge according to the content of heavy metals, to provide sufficiently deep dehydration of solid phases by simple settling, and to significantly reduce the volume of solid phases of sludge and sludge fed to subsequent operations on the final dewatering of sediments by filtration or centrifugation. This makes it possible by economical methods to provide conditions for the subsequent utilization of sediments in agriculture as organomineral fertilizer, to refuse to store them in sludge fields, which will exclude secondary pollution of the environment.
