Abstract

FIELD: medicine, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development of agents used for treatment of infectious diseases accompanying with nasal secretions. Invention proposes drops containing sodium hydrocarbonate aqueous solution and garlic juice and, additionally, metronidazole in the following ratio of components, wt.-%: sodium hydrocarbonate, 2.0-2.5; garlic juice, 1.5-2.0; metronidazole, 1.25-2.0; water, the balance. Use of proposed drops provides common cold healing for 24 h. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of drops, valuable medicinal properties.

Description

 The invention relates to medicine, namely to pharmacology and can be used to treat infectious diseases accompanied by nasal discharge.

 Closest to the technical nature of the claimed drops are drops designed to relieve a cold, containing an aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate (soda) and garlic juice (VK Makarov. Immunotherapy of infectious and non-infectious patients. - Tver, 1998, p. 91 - prototype )

 The objective of the invention was the expansion of funds for the treatment of the common cold.

 The technical result is a reduction in the time it takes to cure a cold, preventing the transition to purulent mucous discharge from the nose.

The specified technical result is achieved in that the drops containing an aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate and garlic juice, according to the invention additionally contain metronidazole in the following wt.%:
Sodium bicarbonate - 2.0-2.5
Garlic Juice - 1.5-2.0
Metronidazole - 1.25-2.0
Water - Else
New, previously unknown features of the claimed substance drops are:
1. additional introduction to the composition of drops of metronidazole;
2. selection of the specific content of metronidazole;
3. An additional therapeutic effect due to a more rapid cessation of intensive discharge from the nose and prevention of the transition of mucous discharge from the nose into purulent.

 The method is developed on the basis of determining the therapeutic effect of the claimed substance in 102 patients with influenza and acute respiratory viral diseases.

 When comparing with the prototype, the use of the claimed drops allowed to reduce by 2 times the number of cases of attachment of secondary microflora and prevent the transition of mucous secretions to purulent.

 A new, previously unknown property of metronidazole has been identified, which is due to the fact that in the cell metronidazole is converted into the active form after restoration of the nitro group. The latter binds to the DNA of a bacterium or virus and prevents the formation of their nucleic acids, which leads to their death and faster recovery.

 A content of metronidazole of less than 1.25% increases the risk of accession of pyogenic flora and the transition of mucous secretions from the nose to purulent, and a content of more than 2.0% significantly reduces the effect of garlic treatment and a decrease in the volume of secretions from the nose.

 Drops are prepared as follows. Take 2.0-2.5 grams of sodium bicarbonate and 1.5-2.0 grams of garlic juice, 1.25-2.0 grams of metronidazole and add water to 100 grams. Stir in a glass container. Filter and pour into vials for later use.

 Example 1. Patient Borisov VN, 42 years old, with a diagnosis of Acute respiratory viral disease and serous-mucous discharge from the nose, drops were prescribed, consisting of 2 wt.% Sodium bicarbonate, 2 wt.% Garlic juice, 1.25 wt. % metronidazole and water - the rest. Drops were instilled into each nasal passage for 2-3 drops every 1-2 hours. Allocations from the nose (runny nose) after a day stopped completely.

 Example 3. Patient Chernigin A.V., 19 years old, with serous discharge from the nose, associated with acute respiratory viral disease, drops were prescribed, consisting of 2.5 wt.% Sodium bicarbonate, 1.5 weight parts of garlic juice, 1.0 wt. % metronidazole and water - the rest. Drops were instilled into each nasal passage for 2-3 drops every 1-2 hours. Nasal discharge (runny nose) completely stopped after a day.

 Example 4. Patient Andreev NI, 20 years old, with a diagnosis of acute respiratory viral disease and serous discharge from the nose, drops consisting of 2 wt.% Sodium bicarbonate, 1.0 wt.% Garlic juice, 1.25 were prescribed weight parts of metronidazole and water - the rest. Drops were instilled into each nasal passage for 2-3 drops every 1-2 hours. Nasal discharge (runny nose) lasted 7 days, but did not turn into purulent.

 Example 5. Patient Yaroshenko TA, 34 years old, with a diagnosis of acute respiratory viral disease and serous discharge from the nose, drops consisting of 2 wt.% Sodium bicarbonate, 2.5 wt.% Garlic juice, 2.0 were prescribed wt. % metronidazole and water - the rest. Drops were instilled into each nasal passage for 2-3 drops every 1-2 hours. Discharge from the nose (runny nose) stopped a day later. However, there was a side effect in the form of severe pain during instillation into the nasal passages, which was the result of an increase in the content of garlic juice.

 Example 6. Patient Kuznetsova S.YU., 20 years old, with a diagnosis of influenza and mucous discharge from the nose, drops consisting of 3 wt.% Sodium bicarbonate, 2.0 wt.% Garlic juice, 2.0 wt.% Metronidazole were prescribed and water - the rest. Drops were instilled into each nasal passage for 2-3 drops every 1-2 hours. Nasal discharge (runny nose) acquired a more fluid consistency and stopped only after 2 days. The transition of mucous discharge into purulent was not observed.

 Example 7. Patient Egorova EN, 35 years old, with a diagnosis of acute respiratory viral disease and serous-mucous discharge from the nose, drops consisting of 1.5 wt.% Sodium bicarbonate, 1.5 wt.% Garlic juice were prescribed , 1.25 wt.% Metronidazole and water - the rest. Drops were instilled into each nasal passage for 2-3 drops every 1-2 hours. The volume of discharge from the nose (runny nose) decreased. A runny nose stopped only after 3 days. The transition of mucous discharge into purulent was not observed.

 Drops can be widely used in the treatment of the common cold in patients with influenza and acute respiratory viral diseases. They allow quickly, during the day to eliminate abundant (a person does not have time to dry handkerchiefs) serous discharge from the nose, which gives the patient a feeling of considerable discomfort, often with a satisfactory general state of health. They are an optimal combination of soda, garlic and metronidazole. Prevent the attachment of secondary purulent flora. Drops can be prepared at home from domestic, cheap and generally available components - water, soda, garlic and metronidazole. It is recommended to store in a dark, cool place and apply for 3-4 days.
