Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the production of electronic equipment, namely the technology of manufacturing printed circuit boards.
[1]. Known subtractive manufacturing process of printed circuit boards, including the photochemical process, the process of drilling holes, the processes of chemical and galvanic metallization, machining, clarification and melting with a tin-lead alloy, etching [1].
The disadvantages of this process include: a relatively high percentage of rejects of printed circuit boards due to poor metallization of interlayer junctions, failure of electronic equipment as a result of severe mechanical and climatic influences due to disturbed contact in the interlayer vias.
A known method, comprising filling the vias with an electrically conductive paste. However, with this method, a high value of the electrical resistance of the compound appears. In addition, air bubbles or tears occur in the paste, impairing the temporary stability and reliability of the electrical connection.
[2]. The closest technical solution, selected as a prototype, is a printed circuit board having conductive conductors on one or both sides, having through holes in which conductive material is placed connected by a metal contact with conductive conductors. For the manufacture of a printed circuit board, an electrically conductive material is placed in a hole, flared or riveted at the end and connected by a metal contact to the electrically conductive conductors by ultrasonic welding [2].
However, with this method of manufacturing a printed circuit board, expensive ultrasonic welding equipment is required, and also taking into account that 300 or more interlayer vias are present on complex printed circuit boards, not to mention through mounting holes, this method of manufacturing a printed circuit board becomes laborious, in addition, the presence of contact pads around metallized holes does not increase the density of printed circuit boards, reduce the dimensions of electronic equipment. According to this method, a reliable connection of a metal sleeve with printed conductors occurs alternately with each hole, which is time-consuming and requires accurate fixation of the ultrasonic welding electrodes above the transition hole.
The most important area of the modern development of engineering and technology for the production of electronic equipment on printed circuit boards is surface mounting (PM).
The main advantages of the PM technology are realized due to the reduction in the size of radio electronic elements (ERE) and the step between the ERE terminals, which makes it possible to place more ERE on the printed circuit board, exclude metallized mounting holes for the ERE, free the other side of the board for mounting the ERE, improve the quality and reliability of soldered joints conclusions ERE.
However, the topology of the pattern of printed circuit boards is becoming more complicated, and the number of interlayer transitional metallized holes with contact pads is increasing, which complicates the layout of printed conductors and limits the advantages of PM. In addition, the failure of electronic equipment most often occurs as a result of contact failure in the interlayer transition: due to poor metallization quality of the interlayer transition, mechanical stresses experienced by electronic equipment, warpage of printed circuit boards during thermal cycling.
The objective of the invention is to increase the density of printed circuit boards and improving the quality of printed circuit boards.
This object is achieved in that the method of manufacturing a printed circuit board includes drilling holes for interlayer transitions in a substrate, applying quick-setting glue to the wire, installing wire in holes for interlayer transitions, curing the adhesive in an interlayer hole with installed wire, cutting the wire flush with the surface of the substrate, forming circuit conductors on both sides of the substrate, and the holes of the interlayer transitions are performed without contact pads directly in the conductors and to contact areas for the planar leads of the ERE, and the wire diameter in the interlayer junction can be greater than the width of the conductor, less than or equal to the width of the conductor or the contact pad for the planar leads of the electro-radio elements, then chemically and galvanically metallize the board, apply a metal protective coating, etch, brighten and conduct hot tinning.
As a result of chemical and galvanic metallization operations, the metal is deposited on the surface and creates a uniform monolithic metallized transition surface from the ends of the wire to the printed conductors, as a result of which reliable contact is formed between them, applying a metal protective coating to the conductors increases the reliability of the interlayer transition.
A comparative analysis of the claimed solution with the prototype shows that the claimed method differs from the known one in that in the claimed method, the wire is fastened in the interlayer transition due to the curing of the quick-setting adhesive, and in the prototype due to the riveting of the hollow piston on both sides of the substrate. In the claimed method, the contact in the interlayer transition is carried out by chemical and galvanic deposition of metal on the surface of the ends of the wire and the surface of the printed conductors, creating a monolithic structure of the transition, in the prototype, a flared piston covers the conductive tracks, and metal contact with the printed conductors is created by ultrasonic welding. In addition, in the claimed method there are no contact pads on the surfaces of the substrate in the interlayer transition, and in the prototype there are flared contact flanges of a hollow piston with a diameter of 1.5 mm
The result of the comparative analysis is to establish the fact of compliance of the proposed method for the manufacture of printed circuit boards with the criterion of "novelty."
Comparison of the claimed method for the manufacture of printed circuit boards not only with the prototype, but also with other methods for the manufacture of printed circuit boards, revealed features that distinguish the claimed method from the prototype and other methods, which made it possible to conclude that the claimed method meets the criterion of "inventive step".
This method of manufacturing printed circuit boards is carried out as follows: in the blanks of printed circuit boards on a machine with numerical program control, the adapter interlayer and mounting holes are drilled according to the program, a metal wire with quick-hardening adhesive deposited on it, for example, VK-9 or SA 35, is installed in the adapter interlayer holes. The curing of the adhesive is carried out by local heating, then the wire is cut off flush with the surface of the substrate. Next, conductors are formed on both sides of the substrate, and the holes of the interlayer transitions are made directly in the conductors, without contact pads, and in the contact pads for the planar leads of the ERE, and the diameter of the wire in the interlayer transition can be greater than the width of the conductor, less than or equal to the width of the conductor or a contact pad for planar findings of radio electronic elements. Then chemically and galvanically metallize the board, apply a metal protective coating, pickle, brighten and conduct hot tinning.
As a result of the operations: applying quick-setting glue, installing metal wire into the interlayer vias, curing the glue by local heating, the metal wire is rigidly fixed in the interlayer viral hole, and as a result of the chemical and galvanic metallization, the metal is deposited on the surface of the board and creates a uniform monolithic metallized transition surface from the ends of the wire to the printed conductors, as a result of which n reliably contact.
The technical and economic effect of this method of manufacturing printed circuit boards is:
1. In improving the reliability of the interlayer transition. The cross-sectional area of the interlayer transition in the claimed method is larger than the cross-sectional area described in the prototype and larger than the cross-sectional area of the interlayer metallized hole, for example, the cross-sectional area in the interlayer transition in the claimed method with a wire diameter of 0.3 mm is S = 0,071 2 mm, the cross sectional area of vias described in the prior art, is S = 0,0317 mm 2 (with vias recommended diameter of 1 mm and a maximum material thickness pistons 100 mm), n oschad cross sectional interlayer metallized holes with a diameter of 0.4 mm and the thickness of the hole metallization 20 microns will be S = 0,026 mm 2, i.e. the cross sectional area of vias in the inventive process to 2.24 times the cross sectional area of vias described in the prior art, and 2.73 times the cross-sectional area of an interlayer metallized hole. The cross-sectional area of a printed conductor 0.3 mm wide with a foil thickness of 35 μm is S = 0.011 mm 2 , that is, the interlayer transition area in the inventive method is 6.45 times the cross-sectional area of the printed conductor. It follows that the electrical resistance of the interlayer transition in the claimed method is less than in the prototype and the traditional interlayer metallized hole, that is, the proposed interlayer transition is more reliable.
2. In increasing the trace density of printed circuit boards. Modern technology for the manufacture of printed circuit boards and automatic wave soldering do not allow to reduce the diameter of through metallized holes with a step of arrangement of metallized holes equal to 2.5 mm, no more than two printed conductors are placed between two contact pads of metallized holes. Therefore, it is the contact pads around the metallized holes that are the main obstacle to increasing the density of printed circuit boards.
In the proposed method for the manufacture of printed circuit boards at a distance of 2.5 mm, five or more printed conductors can be drawn, since there are no pads at all. As a result of this, the total length of the conductors is reduced, the topology of the conductors on both sides of the printed circuit board is simplified. A large number of interlayer transitions become not critical.
3. In increasing the density of the layout of the ERE. The area occupied by the interlayer vias with contact pads described in the prototype and in the traditional manufacture of printed circuit boards is a dead zone for installing ERE. In the claimed method of manufacturing printed circuit boards, the planar leads of the ERE for PM are located on the contact pads on both sides of the printed circuit board directly above the interlayer transition, which increases the density of the arrangement of the ERE on the printed circuit board.
4. In improving the electrical characteristics and overall dimensions of the electronic product. In addition, the implementation of this method of manufacturing printed circuit boards, in some cases, will enable us to switch from manufacturing a multilayer printed circuit board to a double-sided printed circuit board, which will reduce the cost of the product.
