Abstract
Description
The invention relates to pressure welding in the solid phase and can be used for the manufacture of precision units consisting of dissimilar materials in many industries, in particular in precision engineering and instrument making.
A known method of diffusion welding (Kazakov NF Diffusion welding of materials. M: Mashinostroenie, 1976, p.202), in which when connecting dissimilar materials to reduce the main welding parameters - temperature, pressure, holding time - an intermediate is placed between the surfaces to be welded laying of ultrafine metal powders. This type of intermediate gasket in comparison with widely used gaskets (foil, wire, galvanic or sprayed layers) allows, along with a reduced thermal deformation effect on the materials to be welded, to obtain joints with a strength σ of at least 100 MPa.
The main disadvantage of this technology is the complexity of applying a powder layer uniform in thickness and density on the surfaces to be welded, especially in miniature parts having branched surfaces.
Closest to the proposed is a method of diffusion welding by A. with. 1418019, B 23
- в составе прокладки присутствует компактный материал, не всегда являющийся необходимым элементом при сварке прецизионных узлов;
- имеются производственно-технологические трудности по созданию такой трехслойной прокладки с необходимыми толщиной, пористостью, шероховатостью поверхности;
The disadvantages of the prototype method:
- the gasket contains a compact material, which is not always a necessary element when welding precision assemblies;
- there are production and technological difficulties in creating such a three-layer gasket with the necessary thickness, porosity, and surface roughness;
- during heating during the formation of ultrafine powders, abundant gas evolution occurs with the formation of closed pores, which are defects in the weld, leading to a decrease in the strength characteristics of the joints.
The technical result of the invention is to increase the strength characteristics of the welded joint and the intensification of the welding process.
The stated technical problem is solved by using an intermediate strip in the form of a tape obtained by rolling an ultrafine highly active metal powder or a mixture of ultrafine highly active metal powders, which are preliminarily obtained by thermal decomposition of an organic metal salt or mixtures of metal salts. In this case, the strip after rolling has a thickness τ = 50-75 μm and porosity θ = 50-60%.
The indicated range of thickness and porosity is not selected empirically. From the theory and practice of welding production, the influence of a number of properties of the intermediate layers (thickness, porosity, deformation ability, surface cleanliness, etc.) on the strength of welded joints is known. We experimentally established the dependences of the strength of welds obtained by welding through a porous rolled strip based on ultrafine powders of nickel, copper, cobalt and their double mixtures on the thickness τ and porosity θ of the rolled strip. As shown in figures 1 and 2, the dependences of σ in (τ) and σ in (θ) are extreme and the maxima of σ in correspond to the indicated ranges of thickness and porosity (1, 2, 3, 4 are the rolling speeds of the powders. In this application the role of rolling speed is not considered).
The parameters of the modes of diffusion welding through intermediate gaskets in most cases do not take into account the influence of the roughness of the surface of the gasket on the kinetics of the formation of the welded joint, and no account is taken of the effect of the ratio of the roughnesses of the surfaces of the gasket and the materials being welded.
When welding through intermediate gaskets in the form of porous tapes, the quality of the welded joint is determined by the sintering processes that occur in the gasket itself, as well as by the processes of sintering the gasket to the surfaces to be welded. The more active centers on the surface of the tape that contribute to the formation of the compound, the faster and better the formation of the compound. Such active centers on the surface of the gasket may be defects of particles of ultrafine powders embedded in the process of its preparation, but not eliminated during the rolling process in the tape.
где Ra пр - высота неровностей профиля поверхности промежуточной прокладки, мкм;
It is proposed to intensify the process of joint formation due to the fact that welding is carried out at a ratio of the heights of the surface irregularities of the intermediate strip and the materials being welded
1.0 <R a pr / R a cm <100.0,
where R a CR - the height of the irregularities of the surface profile of the intermediate strip, microns;
R a cm - the height of the surface roughness of the surface of the welded materials, microns.
Typically, R a see ranges from up to 0,02-0,01 2,5-1,25 mm, while R a straight no worse 2,5-1,25 mm.
The rougher the surface of the rolled strip, the more defects are retained in the particles of the ultrafine powder. Consequently, the more intense will be the active centers of interaction and the formation of compounds.
When R a pr / R a cm <1.0 - for example, 0.9, in laying a minimum of defects, the process of forming a welded joint is slow. In the contact plane (interface), the grain boundary is stabilized. To increase the strength, additional annealing is required to ensure the migration of the interface. In addition, with such values of R a pr / R a cm , defects arise in the gasket (weld) as a result of cracking during deformation by significant microprotrusions of the surfaces of the materials being joined.
When R a pr / R a cm > 100 (for example, 110) due to the significant roughness of the gasket in the joint zone, many discontinuities remain. For their healing, a long exposure time at the welding temperature is necessary. This reduces the intensity of formation of a durable joint, although the required mechanical strength is provided in the setting areas as the microprotrusions deform.
The method is as follows.
The ultrafine metal powder obtained by thermal decomposition of nickel formate is rolled into a strip on a special rolling mill. Next, intermediate gaskets of the required shape (round, square, etc.) are carved from the tape with a punch. The surfaces to be welded are wiped (degreased) with a cambric napkin dipped in an alcohol-gasoline mixture. Parts are assembled into the fixture by placing an intermediate gasket between the surfaces to be welded. The fixture is placed in the vacuum chamber of the welding installation, vacuum and carry out the welding mode according to the selected parameters. After the regime, the parts are cooled, air is let into the chamber, the parts are removed from the device, and the quality of the obtained compound is monitored.
