Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of production of woven products, and more specifically to the manufacture of woven threads that can be used as surgical suture threads for performing various surgical operations.
Braided surgical suture thread is a braided cord of complex polyester threads, while the number of initial interlocking threadlike elements depends on the sizes of suture materials, and those, in turn, on the surgical operations performed.
The sizes of surgical sutures can be characterized through the metric system or conventional numbers accepted in medical practice.
A number of requirements are imposed on surgical suture threads, as well as on other braided cords: to breaking load, weaving density, elongation at break of the thread, and some other, as well as specific requirements. In particular, a very important requirement is the non-invasiveness of the thread by reducing the roughness of its surface.
с. СССР N 569311, кл. A 61 L 17/00, 1977 г. Known surgical suture thread, consisting of three threadlike elements arranged so that in the cross section of the thread their centers are located at the vertices of an equilateral triangle. Such a thread is very thin and is used, for example, in ophthalmic or neurosurgical operations, i.e. has a rather limited range of application. This thread is described, for example, in A.S. USSR N 569311, class A 61 L 17/00, 1977
A 61 L 17/00, 1993 г. The prototype of the proposed braided thread used as a surgical suture thread is a surgical thread described in patent N 2066200, class. A 61 L 17/00, 1993
This thread is made in the form of a braided cord of complex polyester yarns, in which each initial interlaced thread-like element within the braiding pattern is spiral, and its projection onto a plane perpendicular to the axis of the braided cord has an eight-shaped profile with a center of symmetry of its branches on the axis of the cord. The number of initial interlaced threadlike elements for the surgical suture thread of conditional numbers 4/0 and 3/0 is chosen to be four, for the thread of conditional number 0 - equal to eight, for the thread of conditional numbers 1 and 3, 2 and 5 - respectively equal to 12 and 16, and the initial interlocking thread-like element for a surgical suture thread of conditional numbers 3 and 5 is made of two complex polyester threads not twisted together.
Such a thread has a wide range of applications, that is, it is used for various surgical operations. However, as experience with the use of such filaments in surgery has shown, they have an uneven and rough surface, which has a “sawing” effect on the tissue.
The objective of the present invention is to create a braided thread that would have a smoother surface and, therefore, when used in surgery, it would not injure the tissue by reducing the "sawing" action.
This technical result is achieved by the fact that in a braided thread made in the form of a braided cord of complex synthetic threads, in which each initial interlaced thread-like element within the braiding pattern is spiral, and its projection onto a plane perpendicular to the axis of the braided cord has an eight-shaped profile with the center of symmetry of its branches on the axis of the cord, in such a suture, the number of initial interlaced thread-like elements for the surgical suture of conventional numbers 5/0 and 4/0 is chosen to be eight, a new number 3/0 - chosen equal to twelve, a conditional number 2/0 - equal to eight or twelve, a conditional number 0 - equal to twelve, a conditional number 1 and 3 - equal to sixteen, a conditional number 2 - equal to eight, and a conditional number 6 - equal to sixteen Moreover, for all the indicated conditional numbers of surgical sutures, the thread-like element is made in the form of one complex thread.
Thus, for the corresponding conditional numbers of the surgical suture, a larger number of initial threadlike elements is taken. The more initial interlacing elements, the more round the cord has a cross-section and, therefore, the more smooth its surface. And in order not to increase the thickness of the cord, finer initial threads are selected. So, for conditional numbers 5/0, 4/0, 3/0, the initial thread with a linear density of 3.3 tex is selected, numbers 2/0 and 1 - 8.4 tex, 2 - 12.5; 29.4 tex, 4 and 5 - 27.7 tex, 6 - 29.4 tex, 3 - 15.6 tex.
These are the best options for obtaining high-quality surgical sutures with existing domestic source materials.
As tests have shown, if the initial thread-like element for a surgical suture thread is made of two untwisted, each other rewound complex threads, they still give a non-smooth surface.
The use of a threadlike element in the form of one complex thread also contributes to a smoother cord surface, since it removes the ovality and cone shape of the thread in the cross section and thereby the “sawing” effect.
The use of cords with a smoother surface reduces injury to wounds and contributes to their more rapid healing.
A method of manufacturing the proposed braided thread, as well as other braided cords, is as follows.
The initial threadlike elements are wound on spindle coils, which, using a special mechanism including a system of winged gears, are informed of movement along two mutually intersecting closed sinusoidal trajectories. As a result, the threads from the spindles are intertwined in a certain area where a finished cord is formed, which is pulled and wound onto the receiving device with the help of an exhaust mechanism.
A method of manufacturing a braided thread is illustrated in the drawing, which shows a schematic diagram of a braided machine.
The machine contains spindles 1 with coils (not shown) on which the initial threadlike elements are wound, wing gears 2 with grooves 3 for installing spindles, a mechanism for rotating the wing gears (not shown), providing movement of the spindles and transferring them from one wing gear to another, an exhaust mechanism 4 for providing movement with a given speed of the finished cord formed by interwoven threads in the weaving zone 5, and a receiving device for the finished cord (not shown).
Currently, for the manufacture of braided threads used as surgical suture threads, weaving machines of classes 8, 12 and 16 are used.
Thus, the present invention allows the use of existing domestic equipment and with available starting materials to produce surgical suture threads in a wide range of necessary conditional numbers, satisfying the requirements not only in terms of strength, weaving density, elongation at breaking load, but also having a smoother surface, which as mentioned above, reduces the "sawing" effect and reduces injury to wounds.
Surgical suture threads made in accordance with the present invention are successfully used, for example, at the Institute of Surgery. A.V. Vishnevsky RAMS, Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery. A.B. Bakuleva, Research Institute of Transplantology and artificial organs and in other institutions and hospitals of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
