A folding board for board games is known, containing a means for locking the board in the folded state and a playing field consisting of a central part and side parts having lids hinged to it. The means for locking the known board is made in the form of boards with grooves located at the ends of the central part of the playing field and covers corresponding to the grooves of the protrusions located at the ends of the side parts of the playing field and fixed on the sides of the latches, and the covers are pivotally connected to the side parts of the playing field, and the width the latter is less than the width of the central part of the playing field (A.S. 860788, publ. 09/07/1981) [1]. The known solution requires maintenance of the locking mechanism and is inconvenient for the user - due to the presence of boards provided with covers, grooves and latches - creating a visual "noise" directly in the gameplay.

Known folding game board having many sections of rectangular shape, connected side by side along the longitudinal edge of the flexible element. The flexible element makes it possible to fold sections of mostly rectangular shape with a hollow cavity inside. A plurality of closure members are attached to the game board and are operatively magnetically interactable to secure the game board in a folded configuration or around the chassis. The rectangular sections preferably have a game design printed on one side (U.S. Application US20070235929, published 10/11/2007) [2]. It seems that the lack of storage of game pieces reduces the usability of the known folding board.

Also known is a folding game board, consisting of four panels. Each panel contains a playing surface and a cavity opposite the playing surface. Some of the panels are hinged to allow each of the two pairs of compartments to fold and close independently to form two storage areas that can hold game pieces. The other panels are hinged so that the two storage areas can be folded together, thereby stacking the four panels of the playing field on top of each other (US Patent US 8292298, published 10/23/2012) [3]. In the known solution, the board can only be folded with the playing field outward, which increases its wear. At the same time, it is possible to lay out the board for the game only after a series of manipulations: first, the board is laid out with the playing field down to extract the figures from the open cavities of the panels, then the figures are removed, after which the board is turned over with the playing field upwards (respectively, with the cavities down) and only after that it becomes possible to place the figures on the playing field. At the same time, the board should be laid out very carefully, starting from the top folded panel, so that the figures do not crumble. If the board randomly opens from the bottom (bottom panel), then the pieces in it fall out of it down. Also, figures can spill out of the top panel when it is opened and tilted. To prevent premature opening of the known board, a fastening is provided, which must be unhooked every time it is unfolded, and when the board is folded, it must be hooked. The assembly of such a board is also accompanied by corresponding inconveniences.

The objective of this utility model is to create a folding board for board games, characterized by improved ergonomic qualities - optimized dimensions and ease of storage, transportation and operation, as well as reduced wear on the playing field and inventory.

The technical result achieved by the claimed utility model is to improve the ergonomic characteristics of a folding board for board games - to increase the convenience of its storage, transportation and use.

Unlike the prototype [3], in which to form storage areas it is necessary to fold the panels (quarters) together in pairs, in the claimed solution, storage boxes are built into the side wall of each quarter. This reduces the wear and tear of figures or other game equipment, prevents their damage, and also technically excludes accidental scattering of figures and equipment, their loss.

Also, unlike the prototype [3], in which the panels are folded in pairs with the playing field outward - with the formation of storage space (“storage zones”) - a quarter of the declared board in pairs (the first quarter from the third, and the second from the fourth - in the area of the side walls, which are opposite side walls with built-in storage boxes, interconnected by their edges related to the surface of the playing field) are folded with the playing field towards each other - inside. This allows you to avoid the inconvenience associated with flipping the board, since the board is laid out immediately with the playing field up - in a form ready for the game. At the same time, the wear of the playing field is reduced, since when the board is folded, it is the sides of the quarters that are opposite to the playing field, which eliminates the risk of damage to the playing field, which is folded inward. This is especially important if the playing field is made using expensive materials - precious woods such as ebony or grenadile, as well as precious materials.

Thus, the claimed folding board has improved ergonomics - its design increases convenience during storage, transportation (even if the quarters are accidentally opened, the figures will not be lost, there is no risk of damaging the playing field) and use (eliminates additional manipulations during assembly).

A folding board for board games, for example, chess is made of oak and maple with a size of 60x60 cm and a thickness of 7.5 cm when unfolded (30x30x30 cm - when folded), with drawers for storing figures.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, quarters 1 and 3, as well as quarters 2 and 4 in the area of the side walls, which are opposite to the side walls with built-in storage boxes 7, are interconnected by their edges related to the surface of the playing field, with the possibility of folding the playing field towards each other, respectively. . Quarters 3 and 4 in the area of one of the side walls without built-in boxes 8 are connected by their edges related to the surface located on the side of the quarter on the reverse playing field, with the possibility of folding the sides of these quarters opposite to the playing field to each other. Quarters 1 and 2 do not have a mechanical connection between themselves, which allows you to stack the quarters on top of each other in the sequence (bottom-up) 1, 3, 4, 2 - and store / transport the board in this form.

Quarters 1 and 3, 2 and 4, as well as 3 and 4 can be connected to each other by means of, for example, connecting secret (hidden) rotary loops, which ensure that the quarters are completely adjacent to each other when laying out the board, i.e. without gaps. In particular, pairs of pivoting hinges are provided on quarters 1 and 3, 2 and 4, namely in the region of the side walls which are opposite to the side wall with integrated storage box 7 in the region of the edges relating to the surface of the playing field. Also pairs of turning hinges are installed on the quarters 3 and 4, namely in the area of one of the side walls without built-in storage boxes 8 in the area of the edges related to the surface located on the reverse side of the playing field of the quarter.

The quarters can be connected by means of other fasteners that ensure their rotation (hinged hinges of various types, fabric connections, etc.). In order to ensure a tight fit of the quarters to each other in the unfolded state, magnets placed on the adjacent side walls of the quarters can be used.

Each quarter has 6 drawers built into the side walls 5 for storing figures or other game equipment. Boxes 5 can be installed, for example, on skids (guides). To prevent the drawers 5 from being opened inadvertently, various technical solutions can be used, such as magnets installed at the back of the drawers, as well as latches or closers.

In order to lay out the declared board and prepare it for the game, first lay out the quarters stacked on top of each other in the middle so that there are two quarters on both sides, and then lay them out a second time, completely opening the playing field. Drawers 5 built into the side walls 6 of each quarter are opened and the game equipment is taken out. To assemble the board, the game equipment is put into boxes 5, quarters 1 and 3, 2 and 4 are folded with the playing field to each other, the sides of quarters 3 and 4 are folded opposite the playing field.
