Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used for hardening castings from aluminum alloys, subsequently subjected to aging to increase strength.
A known method of quenching of cast aluminum alloys, in particular AK8M alloy, which consists in heating to a temperature of 515 ± 5 o C, holding for 2 to 8 hours and cooling in water with a temperature of 20 to 50 o C. (Aviation materials. Handbook.
In addition, some thin-walled castings of complex shape cannot be quenched due to cracking.
39).There is a method of hardening cast aluminum alloys AK8M, AK7P4 by cooling in water with a temperature of 80 - 100 o C (GOST 1583-93. Cast aluminum alloys. Appendix B, p. 39).
The method is taken as a prototype. With this method of hardening, cracks do not form, but there is a decrease in ductility and warpage of castings of complex shape.
The decrease in ductility is caused by the fact that the castings are kept for a long time at a temperature of 80 - 100 o C, including when cooled in air to a workshop temperature. At this temperature, the aging process partially occurs, which reduces the ductility of the alloy. Therefore, the subsequent straightening of castings is difficult due to the appearance of cracks.
The technical result achieved by using the present invention is as follows: ductility does not decrease, warpage and deformation of castings during hardening are reduced.
80 - 100oC.This result is achieved in that in the method of heat treatment of castings of aluminum alloys, including quenching with cooling in water at a temperature of 20 - 100 o C, first produce cooling to 80 - 100 o C, and continue cooling in water with a temperature of 20 - 30 o C. Moreover, cooling in water with a temperature of 20 - 30 o C is carried out no later than 1 minute after the castings reach a temperature of 80 - 100 o C.
The method of cooling when quenching castings of aluminum alloys first in water with a temperature of 80 - 100 o C followed by transfer for cooling into water with a temperature of 20 - 30 o C is new, has significant differences from the prototype and provides a technical result.
An example of practical application.
Samples were subjected to various heat treatment conditions and then tested.
1. The research results are summarized in table. 1.
From the results of the table. 1 it can be established that the proposed method provides a combination of minimal deformation (at the prototype level) with high ductility (at the analogue level) and is optimal.
1. To determine the curvature of the castings caused by the heat treatment, samples were made with dimensions of 300 x 20 x 5 mm. The curvature of the samples was measured with probes before and after each heat treatment mode. Before quenching, the curvature of the samples did not exceed 0.05 mm.
2. From each heat, 3 samples of each type were made for each quenching mode.
2. 3. Alloy AK8M (cast into the ground) had the chemical composition shown in Table 2.
4. The transfer time of the charge from the furnace to the cooling medium was 20-30 seconds.
39). 5. Heat treatment for all hardening modes T6 (GOST 1583-93. Cast aluminum alloys. Appendix B, p. 39).
6. During straightening of the samples after quenching according to the regime of item 1, a crack formed on one sample.
Thus, the technical result from the proposed method is provided by reducing the complexity during straightening, reducing marriage by cracks and properties. Castings after heat treatment according to the proposed method will have increased reliability and durability.
