Abstract

The utility model is intended for quick selection of harmonious color combinations and can be used in the field of artistic creativity by artists, make-up artists, and designers. The technical result consists in providing the possibility of quickly finding a harmonious combination of colors. The color matching device contains a disk provided with a color palette, a set of indicators of harmonious color combinations fixed in the center of the disk and made with the possibility of rotation. Pointers are made in the form of guides located along the radii at an angle to each other. The set contains at least five pointers. The first pointer contains four guides arranged at 90 degrees, the second pointer contains four guides forming two opposite 60 degree angles and two opposite 120 degree angles, the third pointer contains three guides with an angle of 120 degrees between them, the fourth pointer contains three guides forming two angles of 150 degrees and one angle of 60 degrees, the fifth pointer contains three guides, the angles between which are 20, 20 and 320 degrees. Color circles of various authors are known, such as Aristotle, Goethe, Oswald, Schwarzkopf, Chevrale. Each of them in its own way reveals the features of the formation of flowers, their influence on the world around us and on human sensations. If the initial circles demonstrate the transition from one primary color to another through additional colors, then later the color circle is complicated by mixtures of colors, the stretch of which goes from white to black. So Chevralet, as a chemist, gives a complete layout when obtaining shades of colors and their proportions, i.e. how many percent of the paint must be mixed to get one or another shade.

Johannes Itten approached this issue most fully and consistently (see "The Art of Color", edited by Dmitry Aronov. - Moscow. - 2018). He used Newton's color wheel to identify patterns in the harmonic combination of different colors. Any equilateral triangle inscribed in the color wheel, with its angles, indicates colors that are pleasing to the eye when combined.

However, it is difficult and inconvenient to use this model in practice, you need to know the theory as a whole, have a book, open it every time and look for the most successful combinations according to the schemes.

A color selection device is known (see RF patent No. 2488242, publ. 20.07.2013, H05B 37/00). It is a system of superimposing one color wheel on another and an additional third. Rotating, they carry out the selection of colors. The device comprises a hue selector representing selectable colors as a gradation of hue along its direction, a saturation selector representing a selectable saturation gradation along its direction, wherein the hue selector and the saturation selector are positioned so that they contain an overlapping area, and the saturation selector is transparent and shaded from fully transparent to fully white to visualize the selection of hue and saturation in the overlapping region, and the means for detecting the positions of the hue selector and the saturation selector and generating a color selection signal depending on the detected positions. It is intended to render a user's intended color setting on a color picker input device to make it easier for users to navigate the hue-saturation color space of, for example, lighting systems.

However, the technical solution is complex, involves the use of computer technology, does not provide an easy and quick way to select colors for the general public of users.

A device is known for determining the result of mixing colors in the form of circles made of dense material, connected with the possibility of rotation relative to each other (see utility model patent of the Russian Federation No. 189023, IPC G09B 19/00, publ. 06.05.19). The large circle is divided by radii into A sectors that protrude beyond the outer contour of the small circle, the sectors of the ring are filled with “large circle colors” in an amount from 1 to A; on the small circle - radii, the angle between which is equal to the angle between the radii on the large circle, N sectors are allocated, and N≤A, the peripheral part of each of which is filled with "colors of the small circle" in the amount from 1 to N; on the part of the large circle located under the small circle, (N-1) × A sectors of the ring and A sectors of the circle are selected by the intersections of radii and concentric circles, each of which is filled with the resulting color obtained by mixing in equal proportions the "color of the large circle" and "the color of the small circle”, with which the combined sector of the ring of the large circle and the peripheral part of the sector of the small circle are filled; at the same time, the combination of the indicated sectors of the ring of the large circle and the peripheral part of the sector of the small circle ensures that the viewing window coincides with the corresponding resulting color.

However, this device does not involve the selection of harmonious colors, but only obtaining shades by combining two colors.

The closest in design solution is a device for searching for harmonious color combinations (see US patent No. 1483529 dated February 12, 1924), containing a disk in the form of a colored dial, the colors of which are stretched along the outer side of the circle, a set of pointers movably fixed on the dial and consisting of a number of concentric equilateral geometric shapes. Chart of colors and their derivatives, located in accordance with the laws of harmony of colors. The colors are numbered. All of these geometric shapes have one of the corners pointing in the same direction. The markings on geometric figures correspond, in terms of number and pitch, to the same law that determines the harmonious arrangement of colors on the dial. The disk, on which the colored dial is located, is divided radially, like a wind rose, into 96 sectors, numbered sequentially. When one of said marks is set to any of the initial colors, the other marks will indicate colors on said dial which harmonize with said initial color in a double or multiple chord.

The main disadvantage of the prototype is the execution of pointers in the form of figures that overlap the disk, which does not allow the use of color palettes located from the center to the periphery (the colors in the prototype are stretched along the outer side of the circle). The disc comes with a tape for searching colors by numbers and instructions for their combination, which complicates and increases the time for finding harmonious combinations.

The technical problem is to develop a fairly simple and minimally costly color matching device.

The technical result consists in expanding the arsenal of means for instantly finding a harmonious combination of one, two, three and even four colors.

The device contains five indicators, while the indicators are conveniently made of material in contrasting colors, for example, from alternating black and white indicators.

The proposed device consists of a disk 1 and a set of pointers 2 different in color and shape. On the front side of the disk there is a palette of colors arranged in a certain sequence, for example, as in Fig. 2. Pointers 2 can be made of either plastic or other light metal. The disk is made of thick cardboard with a diameter of 20 cm or more. On the reverse side, for information purposes, it is shown how additional colors are formed from the primary three colors (Fig. 3). In the center of the disk 1 is placed the axis of rotation, on which pointers are fixed, which rotate manually. The axis of rotation is a rod or bolt with a diameter of not more than 3 mm and a length of 25 mm, fastened to the circle with a nut and at least one pointer 2 mounted on it, which is fixed from above with a nut or bolt of the appropriate size. For mobility of rotation, the pointers are laid with washers. Pointers can be made removable. The color palette can be made of 12 or 24 divisions in the form of a star (Fig. 1) and is a stretch of each beam of monochrome color from light to dark. Pointers contain guides 3, located at a certain angle. The pointers placed on the disk are movable relative to the color palette and represent a single, clearly fixed connection of guides differently directed at different angles, with a small hole along the size of the rotation axis in the central support 4 in the form of a square, triangle or circle of small diameter, which do not cover the color palette .

The first pointer (Fig. 4) contains 4 guides located at an angle of 90 degrees. Thus, this index connects all 4 contrasting colors and allows you to choose from monochrome colors the desired shade in color, but it will also be limited to the option of two contrasting colors. From this it follows that, by rotating the pointer, one can find any contrast-harmonious solution. The second pointer (Fig. 5) also has 4 differently directed pointers, but the angle between them will be equal to 60, 120, 60 and 120 degrees. This pointer can suggest not only which two contrasting colors are combined, but also combinations of two closely related colors, and a combination of pairs of closely related colors from 4 harmonious colors. The third pointer (Fig. 6) includes three multidirectional guides, between which an angle of 120 degrees is formed. This makes it possible to link 3 primary colors and their shades into a harmonious palette.

The fourth pointer (Fig. 7) is formed from three guides, combining one primary and 2 closely related colors. The angles are respectively 150, 150, and 60 degrees.

The fifth index (Fig. 8) combines three guides to identify closely related colors. The angles between them are 20, 20 and 320 degrees.

By rotating the pointers and selecting one of the shades of a monochrome color, you can easily match it with additional harmonious colors from other monochrome shades from the lightest to the darkest.

The absence in the color palette of paints of mixtures obtained by mixing contrasting colors (shades of gray and brown) is not taken into account and is assumed to be additional to the primary colors and mixtures. The palette of the circle can change, this does not change the essence of the model.

Brief instructions for its use may be attached to the device. Monochrome stretching is the most accessible and always harmonious. Therefore, it is most often used in clothes in order to avoid looking inharmonious. Knowledge of combinations will allow many to diversify their wardrobe and interior. Artists and designers will save their time. Pupils and students will be more successful in completing assignments in color.

The claimed device guides the user in the selection of harmonious color combinations of his choice and opens up great opportunities for everyone. The device is convenient, clear and compact. It involves getting almost instant results without effort, which makes it easy to use not only by specialists, but by any person.

Unlike the prototype, the proposed model has a radial system for placing monochrome colors, that is, the color stretches from the center (from light color through connections with the main one and transition to dark ones) to the periphery of the circle (stretching and dimensions of which can multiply).

The novelty of the claimed utility model in comparison with the prototype lies in the implementation of the pointer in the form of a set of five clearly fixed at certain angles guides. It is this constructive implementation of pointers that represents the main essence of this model. The combination of the selected color wheel with the declared indexes provides an instant finding of a harmonious combination of one, two, three and even four colors. At the same time, the device is convenient, clear and compact.

These pointers are in the form of guides with strictly fixed angles, which, when rotated, give a clear direction for the search for color matching and discard other, less harmonious color combinations. They are indicators of harmonious combinations.

Example: if the main color is located on a monochrome yellow scale, then its most harmonious combination will either be located along one guide on a monochrome red-orange scale, or along another guide, contrastingly opposite, and will be found on a violet monochrome scale. That is, if we take yellow as a basis and a pointer with guides at angles of 60, 120, 60, 120, then harmonious combinations will be in a duet of both a range of shades of yellow and a range of red-orange colors.

According to the strength of the tone (darker - lighter) - these can be both combinations that are close to each other, light or heavy, or moderate or contrasting. Moreover, choosing a monochrome of two directions, you can multiply the number of shades without leaving the range of two colors. Colors will almost always be harmonious. This will eliminate unnecessary clutter and complexity in finding color combinations using the color ribbon, as is done in the prototype.

For the selection of 3 colors, a set of 3 indicators is intended, each of which has 3 guides, which are made at strictly specific angles:

a) 120, 120, and 120 degrees;

b) 150, 150 and 60 degrees;

c) 20, 20 and 320 degrees.

Such a combination of the color palette will be the most harmonious than the combinations of other monotypes.

Example: Let's take a household example. For a suit of a black and blue shade of color (according to the first index), a shirt of light yellow color or another shade of yellow monochrome will look harmonious, while you can afford, as an extravagance, a tie made of monochrome ruby hues or a tie of two colors - blue and ruby \u200b\u200band others and etc.

Depending on which style you prefer, light or heavy, it is easy to choose inverse proportions and tone strengths.

Pointers with different guides will expand the selection. However, it is undesirable to go beyond these combinations.

The way to use 4-rail pointers is similar. However, the range of such combinations becomes very large, the variance becomes even more diverse when using the Itten circle of gray colors. The scheme of using pointers with monolithic guides located at clear angles remains the same, no matter how many additional colors of the color wheel we include.

Unlike the prototype, the proposed solution expands the possibility of using different color wheels on the front side with a stretch from the center to the periphery, since the proposed pointer design does not overlap colors. Having more pointers expands the search for possible combinations.
