Abstract
Description
The invention relates to welding materials, in particular to coatings of welding electrodes for manual arc welding of low-carbon and ni-alloy steels.
Known electrode coating [1], which, when applied to a wire of the brand SV-08, an electrode of type E-46 and having the following composition, wt.%:
Rutile concentrate - 10 - 50
Talc - 2 - 20
Marble - 4 - 30
Kaolin - 2 - 15
Ferromanganese - 4 - 25
Cellulose - 1 - 5
Potassium-sodium silicate solution (to the weight of the dry mixture) - 28 - 30
The disadvantages of the known electrode coating include the content of a large amount of expensive rutile concentrate, insufficiently high ductility of the weld metal and welding performance.
Ильменитовый концентрат - 40 - 50;
Мрамор - 6 - 14;
Железная руда - 4 - 12;
Ферромарганец - 12 - 20;
Каолин - 2 - 6;
Тальк - 4 - 12;
Closest to the proposed coating of the welding electrodes is an electrode coating [2] containing the following components, wt.%:
Ilmenite concentrate - 40 - 50;
Marble - 6-14;
Iron ore - 4 - 12;
Ferrotitanium - 5 - 10
Ferromanganese - 12 - 20;
Kaolin - 2-6;
Talc - 4 - 12;
Cellulose - 1 - 3
The known coating based on ilmenite concentrate provides welding and technological properties of the electrodes and mechanical properties of the weld metal, similar to coatings based on rutile concentrate with a lower content of titanium oxides, and also improves welding productivity by increasing the temperature and melting speed of the electrode, reducing heat loss and reduce heating of the coating due to the introduction of iron ore, ferrotitanium and kaolin into its composition.
The disadvantages of this electrode coating include high material consumption and production costs due to the multicomponent composition and use of expensive materials.
In addition, the disadvantage of this coating is the low ductility of the weld metal due to its tendency to crack due to the increased sulfur content due to the introduction of ferrotitanium and iron ore into the coating composition.
The objective of the invention is to improve the quality of the weld metal, as well as reducing material consumption and costs.
Ильменитовый концентрат - 60 - 65;
Мрамор - 5 - 10;
Каолин - 9 - 10;
Ферромарганец - 8 - 11;
This is achieved by the fact that the electrode coating, comprising ilmenite concentrate, marble, ferromanganese and kaolin, according to the invention contains ferrosilicon in the following ratio of components, wt.%:
Ilmenite concentrate - 60 - 65;
Marble - 5 - 10;
Kaolin - 9 - 10;
Ferromanganese - 8 - 11;
Ferrosilicon - 10 - 12
An increase in the coating mass fraction of ilmenite (55% TiO 2 ; 50% Fe 2 O 3 ) instead of introducing iron ore (hematite) helps to reduce the tendency of the weld to crack, increase ductility and stability of arc burning.
An increase in the mass fraction of kaolin instead of using talc reduces the thermal conductivity of the coating and improves its crimping properties.
The introduction of ferrosilicon in the coating as a deoxidizer instead of ferrotitanium reduces the tendency of the weld to crack and, as a result, helps to increase ductility.
In addition, reducing the number of components with the composition of the coating and the exclusion from it of more expensive materials helps to reduce material consumption, costs and, consequently, the cost of manufacturing the proposed coating.
9467-75. When testing the proposed coating by crimping, electrodes with a diameter of 4 mm were made, by which samples were welded to determine the welding and technological properties and mechanical properties of the weld metal according to GOST 9467-75.
1. The coating compositions of the experimental electrodes are given in table. one.
In the table. 2 shows the test results of the experimental electrodes.
The test results show that the electrodes with the proposed coating provide the opportunity to obtain fine-grained weld metal with optimal chemical composition and improved ductility.
The coating provides stable arc burning with alternating and direct current. At the same time, the slag obtained by melting the experimental electrodes moistens the metal well, ensures the formation of the weld in various spatial positions, and is easily separated from the surface of the weld metal.
Thus, the proposed coating provides the possibility of obtaining the mechanical properties of the weld metal and the welding and technological properties of the electrodes at the level of the requirements of GOST 9467-75 for electrodes of the E-46 type, as well as reducing costs and material consumption of the production due to the simplification of the composition, the exclusion of expensive materials from it and the use of local raw materials.
