Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of automobile transport, in particular to internal combustion engines using hydrogen as an additive to the main fuel.
A known method of using hydrogen in an automobile as an additive to the main fuel, including gasoline, consists in the fact that hydrogen stored in a liquid state in a cryogenic tank is used as a fuel additive.
The disadvantage of this method is the lack of efficient use of hydrogen as a fuel additive due to insufficient safety, reliability, environmental friendliness and economy.
The objective of the invention is to remedy these disadvantages.
The problem is solved in that the method of using hydrogen in an automobile as an additive to the main fuel, including gasoline, consists in using hydrogen stored in a liquid state in a cryogenic tank as a fuel additive, and hydrogen is stored at excess pressure equal to 0.5-1.0 atm.
In addition, hydrogen from the cryogenic tank can enter the heat exchanger, the energy of the cooling system can be used to heat hydrogen, and hydrogen can be mixed with air before being fed to the carburetor.
The drawing shows a system for supplying fuel to the engine.
The implementation of the method is illustrated by the example of the operation of the fuel supply system to the engine.
Система для его реализации состоит из баллона 10 повышенного давления (p 4oC16 атм) с водородом или гелием, подаваемым через редукционный клапан 11, снабженный манометрами 12 и 13, в бак с жидким водородом в "паровое" пространство с небольшим избыточным давлением (p 0,5oC1,0 атм).The proposed method is carried out in the following way. An additional cryogenic power system is installed on a production car, for example, "RAF", the engine of which runs on gasoline, which supplies 5 10% hydrogen by weight to the main fuel. Hydrogen from the cryogenic tank 1 through the heat exchanger 2, in which hydrogen is heated from the engine cooling system 3, the cryogenic pipe 4, control and safety devices 5, is fed into the air filter 6 of the engine 7, then to the carburetor 8, where the formation of a gas-hydrogen mixture occurs, which fed into the working cylinders of the engine. Regulation of hydrogen supply is carried out using valve 9. The method of supplying hydrogen to the engine is a displacement one. The system for its implementation consists of a cylinder 10 of high pressure (p 4 o C16 atm) with hydrogen or helium supplied through a pressure reducing valve 11, equipped with pressure gauges 12 and 13, into a tank with liquid hydrogen in a "steam" space with a slight overpressure (p 0.5 o C1.0 atm).
